Chasing Anthems

Chasing Anthems

Chasing Anthems - based out of Northern California, is an original Country-Rock music duo formed in 2018. The group was founded by Richard Hibbard and Travis Howell, who became friends while sharing their passion for music, community and church, while volunteering at their local church’s youth group.

Coming from different musical backgrounds, styles, and even interests, both Richard and Travis have combined their passion for Country-Rock music and forming it into their own unique style of original music. When selecting a band name, the pair settled on the name “Chasing Anthems” based on the groups anthemic style choruses heard in many of their original songs. Their music can be streamed on all major streaming platforms, as well as heard on regional and streaming radio stations. Chasing Anthems has performed up and down the west coast, as well as Nashville, Tennessee, headlining at various casino, events and festivals.

I'm not at all a fan of this kind music ... but I'm more than impressed and most definitely enjoyed this one. Good music is good music period ... music without borders.

This was a good choice to highlight Rorys skill on the strings as with bass playing a lead solo. AWESOME!!!

I read his bio (and bought all his early albums when they came out!) and this guitar at the end has all those knobs cause he hated pedals! Had everything put right into the guitar! He had giant hands, so he tuned to open tunings, and used one finger to cover the whole neck...on early songs like "Who Do You Love," the lead intro was by Jody Williams, an incredible player! [Jody got sick of being ripped off by the music biz, and worked at Xerox for about 25 years - quit music by the 1960s...too bad!] Hail Bo Diddley!

Country guitarist with nothing to say about these 3. Typical. You had no idea what you were witnessing and probably still don't. You've got nothing to bring to the table just like 99% of the the country, pop, and rock guitarists out there. Yet you guys think that the stuff you play is great. It ain't. All of you have got heads way bigger than your talent. I cringe when I watch a country, pop, rock guy perform and the crowd goes wild. Nothing but posers and the audiences are ignorant. So. Nothing to say. I expected as much.

Led Zep wasn't around then. They only got together for the first time in late 1968. This and other bands like Blue Cheer started heavy rock. Bands like Mountain and Zep continued with it into the 70's.

i only saw Allan play once, when he was for a short time in the band UK with Bruford,Wetton and Jobson, all awesome musicians. They were superb, I'd have loved to have seen what else they could have done. Inevitably the constraints of rock pushed him back to jazz. I talked to Bill Bruford about him many years later, but before he passed and he said Allan was a lovely guy and a gracious musician. He's missed.

When you come back around to check out Rush, you got to hit different eras, they had a lot in the tank, & it's quite the Journey. KZread search trees xanadu remaster for great representation of the prog era, then over the years: Analog Kid 1982, The Pass 1989, Earthshine 2002, The Main Monkey Business 2007, The Anarchist 2012.

And it only took the end of their career for people to catch on. How sad because actually being at a live show/performance you couldn't help but become a part of it even though haters hate have never been but somehow know everything about it, LoL. And have a lot to say about everything but actually know NOTHING!!! It's everything Rock and Roll pure and simple.

Thnx for this awesome reaction👍 Including that insight of California & it's regions. I will be visiting for my 1st time in Oct. Oddly enough, I'm from the same area as Zach in Oklahoma. Few months ago, some folks on Ancestry reached out to my family to discuss their relation. Turns out a large portion of my Dad's side migrated to California during the Dust Bowl 🤯 My wife & kids & I will be taking an RV out there, & i look forward to it. Be safe & God Bless🙏

Been listening to Phil since 1980. Seen him in concert over 50 times played on stage with him three times. I have photographs if you want me to show you. Yes he’s an amazing guitar player. I’ve been playing for 60 years. There’s no one like him I’ve studied everyone. my favorite songs Full Circle, Town to Town, Time, the wind and the wheat, County down, Salvation army band, the Maker of the Universe, spend my life with you, the march of the clouds, True Believers I’m yelling. I mean, I could go on and on and on.

When I was a young girl I was friends with Rosie Reinhardt, a niece to Django. His style is called Gypsie Jazz, but of course nowadays, I am not sure if you are allowed to say it! Another famous Reinhardt is Nuckenschnack Reinhardt! Some members of the family where killed in Concentration camps of Hitler.

To me Guthrie is one of the few players I hear as what I can only refer to as a transcendent player. He plays like he speaks, he's never thinking about position or fret number or anything like that he's 🤔 by the sounds. Everything you're hearing is what he's hearing in his head, just notes.
