These were hard times for poor , they were treated like criminals just for being poor and desperate for help . I think there was a serial killer working in the pharmacy, who saw the opportunity to poison the less fortunate . Thank you for another true story from the history of Manchester 😊
You are absolutely correct and I think I may have to agree with you on the serial killer.
Evenin Stuart looking forward to seeing this xxx oh how wicked and suspicious 😢
Hope you enjoy it
@@StuartAndersonHarris naturally it's done and spoken by you 😘

Interesting story once again. 😊👌🏻
Thank you 🙏🏻
As an ex Mancunian now living in Iberia I loved this story I worked in Peter st for a few years before leaving to work in Preston and then moving to the Netherlands for my husbands job Always missed Manchester ( if not the weather ) Such a sad story WHY wasn't that persistent admirer questioned I wonder ? He sounded like a present day stalker Poor girl worked so hard after so much bereavement and that was her reward Women's lot in those days not changed that much imo
Thank you so much for listening, it is a sad story and I wish I could say things have changed, but it seems to be a trend running through most of my stories
Another great story, thank you. It makes me want to see if there are any records of my ancestors having particpated.
Good chance they were at least in the crowd for the blanket match or peterloo
History has a way to repeat itself again and again and again.
That is very true
So the Tories have always been rich toffs who hate the poor
Well said very like today people have forgotten excellent peice well done ❤

Great tale. Thanks for sharing this one. Sad story the lack of communication that caused the death.
It absolutely did at multiple points this story could have had a different ending, thank you for listening
Would've hoped my trousers were already brown if I was that gas man
Did he eventually get to the American West?
A sad tale that maybe could have been prevented by better communication between law enforcement departments. I love the stories you share, thank you.

Thank you for watching 🙏🏻 I do appreciate the support. Yea it cost him his life in the end
The people must have really loved and respected her, to pay for the funeral and demand justice for her in a time when personal honour meant everything.
Yes the probably did but something I have found, a few women who have been in the news due to crime were supported by the community
Love your stories, have you stopped doing them? You seem to have missed a week, please don't stop I'm getting into them
I live just off Stretford road. I bet it looked better then than it does now!
So basically, insurance companies never want to pay out.
Absolutely never have and never will
What happened to poor Thomas afterward?
I can’t find any information on him only the actual event but I was curious too
Whats striking is that these were all Manchester lads
How united were save from bankruptcy by a dog next please, for the FA cup win
In honor of united winning the FA cup please do a story about manchester united

Another fascinating but sad tale Stuart. These are always a highlight. Thanks for sharing these.
Yes this one is a new one for me, I found it researching another story, glad you liked it
I think, it was cheaper. That's the only reason....🤔
What a sorry tale, poor Bacup billy, must have been a rotten way to die. It’s hard to imagine the miserable lives folk had back then. Always bloody scrapping and pinching for a stale crust. Cheers ! ✌🏻👍🏼
Thank you for listening, yea live was very hard for quite a few people
In those days beer could be bought by the jug that the customer brought with them most woman drank beer at home because respectable women didnt go into pubs
Most interesting subbed.
Thank you
Keep this under your hats about the successful population reduction ! I couldn't bare it if W. E. F. & Co got wind of it , " ME ALE" ! 😭😭😭😭
Poisoned beer! This is OUTRAGEOUS!!!!
Absolutely! Is nothing is sacred?
Once again, a very interesting story. 👏🏻
Thank you 🙏🏻 and thank you for listening
My guess is women were going for the cheaper option, a good lass knows it all works.
Yea I thought maybe more men were on stronger drinks like whisky but I’m unsure

Really enjoyed tthis upload Stuart. As a family which had a lot of live but not a lot of ££ annual camping trips LwYs meant graveyards to see who could find the oldest gravestone or person etc, which led to a lifelong fascination, keep up the good work xx

Thanks for listening
Nice great story Stuart
Thank you 🙏🏻
Sounded like the court made the right decision, there was no stab wound or bullet entry point........he's resulted in her death, not necessarily intending it - as more than one story in James Joyce's The Dubliners conveys, too many women's lives are like Mary's, & too many men are like that proprieter, bullying, pushing people around. Brian Jones, of the Rolling Stones, was supposedly very cruel towards girlfriends. 12:08 Modern day example.
Very interesting . I have subscribed now to this channel . T o my surprise I found that my Gt Grandmother x4 was from Hulme, and gt Grandfather x3 born in Salford . His son and those of us that came along after are Londoners
Thank you very much for subscribing, that’s Interesting, I did an archaeology sites in Hulme and Salford. Do you know much about your northern family?
Interesting story and well presented as usual. Thanks for all your work on these.
Thank you so much for keep coming back
