I love that big beautiful staircase!!!!

I visited the hall quite recently. Very impressed with the staff and information in the rooms. Manchester and surrounding areas are so lucky that so many of these old halls are still standing.

There could have been many more, sadly some people want rid of them, there is hough hall in moston that is falling apart as we speak, tragic really

Another place I've visited my mum and dad nearly bought a house overlooked by the hall on a new estate. I was looking forward to living there as my bedroom would have looked directly at the hall plus it had a spiral staircase which I thought was amazing but my mum found out the area was still rather rough back then and a local copper said to her I wouldn't live round here for a gold pig so she got her deposit back and it never happened. Some years ago on a visit with friend I was up in the attic are on my own and there was a hole in the wattle so I was taking photos of a fireplace on my Sony Walkman phone and a face of a woman kept peeking round the oak beams at me. I did manage to take a photo of the face and it's still in the phone in my bedside drawer.

That’s amazing would be cool living so close to the building, but getting a picture of her face is brilliant, have you still got the image?

Um... could you make the intro music the same audio level as the rest? I nearly jumped out of my skin.
