All things, home and family… I am married to an amazing man who wears more hats than I do and I homeschooled my six children over a period of 30 years. I am a professional organizer, parenting coach and pastor of family ministries. I love to share all aspects that go into making a Peaceful Home. I am passionate about organizing, hunting secondhand goods, decorating on a budget, child training and budgeting. I love Jesus above all else and truly know I would not be the person I am today without Him!

My 18- month old doesn’t like to be held by anyone including family members. She only wants mom.im enjoying it but also hoping she’ll grow out of it.
I completely understand. It can feel like it will never change. My 18 month old granddaughter was getting very attached to me and it was so fun and then she just took a turn to only wanting mom. If my daughter is busy and GD needs something, I will offer to help her or pick her up and she just looks at me like I am the last person she wants to see. 😂 It does help to know that this is normal development. Hang in there!! 💛
Así Es La Vida for Mexican food. Arcadia Farms Café for farm to table - get the chicken, wild mushroom and leek crepes. The chicken is from local Two Wash Ranch and you can taste the difference. Amazing! Also go to Hanny's restaurant.

Maybe it just brings back memories of opening wrapped gifts as a kid. We didn’t have “gift bags” back then. Your room is truly a beautiful sanctuary.

I need help decluttering everything! Especially clothes and toys. I grew up with nothing so it’s hard to get rid of anything. But I want to be a minimalist so bad.

I just looked it up and they have over 40 locations, including in California where I live. I had no idea!! 😳 I really like to try new places and I don’t like going to national chains while traveling, like Habit, Taco Bell or Applebee’s - the places that are available everywhere. I went to Costa Rica with my daughter in May. The hike to Rio Celeste was amazingly beautiful and the Místico Arenal Hanging Bridges was also very beautiful. Have a wonderful trip!

I am in a similar situation, I'm a retired homeschool Mom, whose last child has graduated, my mother-in-law and my Mom and Dad died in the last few years , and I am very sentimental! We would like to move sometime in the near future, but I have to gain control of the items that have accumulated. Pray for me!

I’m glad I’m not the only one going through this… I feel so suffocated, overwhelmed and extremely frustrated. I can’t even cook dinner without my almost 2 year-old clinging to my legs… I can’t even take a shower or use the bathroom or do anything independently. I’m trying to stay calm and patient… But it’s extremely difficult. I’ve even reconsidered having more kids because if I can barely handle one, how can I have more? I just didn’t know motherhood was going to be this challenging 😩😭
@@JadeCarter66 Hi Jade! Thank you so much for your comment. I am so sorry you are struggling with this. Parenting can definitely feel overwhelming. Of my six children, most of them had a “normal” amount of separation anxiety, but my third-born was exceptionally clingy until about the age of three. I promise you, this will not last forever! I am on a break from KZread for the month of July (I have one video it will air today or tomorrow that I uploaded a couple of weeks ago) When I return, I plan on doing more toddler training videos, in particular, on high chair training. Training a two-year-old to be in a high chair for short amount of time can be so beneficial to allow you to have a little break and get some things done. I hope you will watch for those in August. It sounds like you are an amazing mother! Hang in there! 💛

Are you ever worried about buying bedding/pillows from a thrift store?
Hi Cheryl! Great Question. Probably 90% of my bedding over the last 15 years has been thrifted. I wash all blankets sheets and towels as normal. For pillows, they can be washed and dried or, just put in the dryer on a sanitize cycle or high heat. I have never had a problem! Thanks for watching and for commenting. 😊
I recently thrifted a couple of vintage needlepoint pillows. I removed the covers and washed those by hand because they were delicate, and I sanitized the down insert in the dryer. 💛

Is it normal for 3-month-olds to have separation anxiety? what is the difference between having separation anxiety and being clingy?
Hi Mansi! We don’t really call it separation anxiety at that age because it is completely normal. They are made to connect and bond to parents. I don’t know if you have heard of anything about the “fourth trimester”. It’s the concept that the first three months after birth are so critical for bonding that it’s as if you continue being pregnant - baby should be close to mom as if in the womb. Think of kangaroos and other marsupials. Their babies are born only to remain in the pouch until ready to be out on their own. Some babies want mom only, others bond with mom and dad, and still others with grandparents or other caregivers. But, they have trouble being away from the significant people in their life and again, that is normal and needed for development. Another thing you can research is attachment theory. The way babies attach to us in the early years is extremely critical for their emotional health. “Being clingy“ is basically the same thing, at least the way most people use these phrases.
