Do you have a video of the lever/master/slave install?
Great video but when he gets to the fly wheel for those with a 2012 and new just remember you have to put your starter gears in
Great video! Very helpful. I have a 2006 crf70 and would like to get some more height out of my forks. Can you tell me if there is any other options to get some more height from the forks? Maybe an aftermarket triple clamp?
@@tacroom12 Honestly, i don’t think so. However, TBOLTUSA may have some options for you. They are great for all that performance stuff for smaller bikes.
@@brian.d.mobley thank you Brian. I did find that xr/crf80 forks will mount right up and provide more travel. I found complete sets on eBay at a decent price.
Can I ask burning about how minute
Great video! I thought it was a No-No to pull crank/bearing into case as it may damage bearing. Would heating case bearing boss and freezing crank assembly work for press fit?
Hey Marc. Cold pressing is actually the factory recommended method, but it’s fine to use the method you suggest. I created a video about different bearing replacement procedures and, for me, I just feel pressured to get everything completed quickly when I use the method you mentioned. Cold pressing is lower stress (for me) and I feel better when I can take my work slow and carefully. But, again, that’s just me. My personality demands precision so I find myself drawn to procedures that suit my OCD nature! Thanks for watching and for sharing your question.
did they discontinue the crf70f?
Hey Joey! That is a good question! Honestly, I’m not sure, but there are definitely plenty of them around and available for purchase.
Hi Brian how do you think cerakote will hold up applied to rims/wheels? I ride in sand mainly, thank you 👍
In sand, my guess is that powdercoat would hold up better, honestly.
@@brian.d.mobley thank you
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
Great 'how to' video, one of the best methodologies. Well done !
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
How far is the shifting drum supposed to move cause mine doesnt feel like any other dirtbike tranmission ive ever used but i have all 6 gears but it doesnt click into gears
Hi Send Memes. Im not sure exactly what you mean regarding drum movement. Lateral movement like runout or rotational movement while shifting. If the engine is operational, can you share with me whether the transmission comes out of gear during operation?
@brian.d.mobley it pops out of gears in first and second like there false neutrals and the shifting drum the pins that slide out into the drum to pick the slot to move it in the next gear don't do anything unless you actaully jam the shifter or kick it down or up one thing I do know tho is I will never be buying another honda after this bike tho complete lemon clutch wont engage nothing works on it and I've put over 50 hours into this engine alone
@@brian.d.mobley and the engine was operational till I stalled it in 4th gear cause my clutch doesn't work at all when I've put it together exactly how everyone says just snug not overtightened so I have no idea I'm just gonna sell this thing for cheap
Noted.

Hi Brian i am how well this has held up over time?
Hey Make or Break! About the same as the factory paint. Boot rub still wears off the Cerakote. But otherwise, looks good. Thanks for watching.
@@brian.d.mobley thats great thanks for the video 👍👍
Absolutely! Glad to help!
do rings really rotates while running?
I cant confirm that 100%, but from my understanding, yes. I have never read any literature specific to this topic, but many knowledgeable mechanics have assured me that rotation does occur.
@@brian.d.mobley just follow up question is there any problem if i installed or stag the 1st and 2nd compression ring on the exhaust side and the oil rings stag on the intake side
Im not sure what "stag" means, but as long as the ring gaps are not installed in the same plane, youre probably fine.
@@brian.d.mobley i mean if i clock the 1st and 2nd compression ring on the exhaust side not on the intake, and the oil rings on the intake not on the exhaust side, it's like a reverse procedure like you do
I want to help, but "stag" and "clock" are just not terms that I familiar with in relation to piston rings. I think you are are asking about gap location for the top two rings and the oil rings. Provided that none of the gaps are in the same plane or, in alignment with one another, you likely won't have any issues with the rings.
great post, but, i wanted to hear it running.
✌🏻
Can I change the single shifter for double level shifter on cb150x 2023?
Sorry. I don’t know the specifics of the shifter for that motorcycle.
Just came across your channel. Love your videos and quality production.
So nice of you! Thank you!
What color Cerakote was used on the clutch cover it looks like the bronze but a little darker was kinda curious cause I have been wanting to do mine and wanted to do a different color than the standard bronze and I’m really digging the color of yours.
Its Burnt Bronze. I did a video on Cerakoting that cover too if you are interested. Its in the channel library.
What year is is the Motor
The cases are 2001. The gearbox is from a newer model.
Will this video work for my 2003 cr125
It’s essentially the same procedure but the engine featured in this video is a 2007. Best practice is to supplement your knowledge base with the factory service manual.
How do you get those rusty studs out of the block?
Essentially, it’s opposite of what I cover in this clip regarding the stud installation procedure: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJ930JOmYL3Qkpc.html
Wow, someone finally addressed the cylinder head arrow, that it needs to point downward. Also, place the gasket on the head cover to make sure the holes line up correctly as there's only a one in 4 chance you will get it right.
Good tips!
Thank you, I ordered the tools.
Cool! Good luck. It’s fun working on the valve train.
Do you think removing the shifter and leaving the bike in gear would be good antitheft? It would stop the bike being easily rolled i guess.
Good idea!
Dang ok thx
I only used 2 oil rings on my Toyota 1.8 the spring ring and a solid one will it be ok ? I left the 3 rd ring out because it was too tight
If 3 rings came out, 3 rings need to go back in.
Thank you very much
Sure! Hope it helped!
Hi do the rings rotate around while engine in motion
Apparently they do, yes.
ay man will this work on my 110cc quad wich has a centrifigual clutch and i really want a manual(or if i change te engine to a 125cc with centrifigual clutch)
HI. Talk to TBoltUSA. They can help you find a compatible retrofit if one exists for you quad.
@@brian.d.mobleydo they ship to Finland
@@onskuponsku_11eo21 As you may imagine, I dont know all the policies of TBoltUSA. Reach out to them. They can answer your questions! Thank you!
Lovely. you had to change the axle of the rear hub. Is that because you went from shimano to campa? Or because you went up in the amount of gears?
Hi. It was the number of gears. SO many fussy details to get sorted so I could run modern Campy Record groupset.
Awesome video man you are an absolute life saver for this so much easier with your guidance🫡
So glad it helped!
@@brian.d.mobley you do a great job explaining everything man seriously a ton of help, funny enough my motor is missing that kickstarter thrust washer to lol
@@lucasv7348 Very kind of you. Thank you. It’s not easy making video!
What year is this bike
2007
Super easy to watch , follow and understand. Thank you
Thanks so much! Making video is not easy!!!
will this work on a ttr110
Hi Max. Talk to the folks at TBOLTUSA. They know all about the various fitment permutations. Thanks for watching.
Should plastic be removed or is it best to leave them on the bike?
I prefer having the plastic off the bike.
Great teaching brother
Thanks so much. The camera I had back then didn’t do close shots very well and I was never too happy with the video quality.
Wow great job
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Why didn’t you peel that blue strip of the seam chrome strip. I’m doing a 78 now. I know it won’t turn out as nice as yours. I am a bit frustrated with the lack of parts for the 78. Any direction you can send me would be appreciated
I just didn’t want to peel it off. No special reason. As for finding parts, it’s not easy. Patience, persistence and determination.
@@brian.d.mobley I wish I could show you what I’ve got to start with and get your expert opinion if I should continue or if I should try to sell what I have and get better canvas to begin with.
You can email pics if you like. [email protected]
I can’t get my clutch cover to go back on any idea what I did wrong it seems like it’s getting caught in the middle almost because I can push either side down. It’s just teeter tottering.
It’s so hard to tell things like that unless I have the motor in front of me.
I like the shinney silver finishing kit better. But that's just me. Kudos to all your hard work though. 👍🏼👍🏼
Fair enough! Thanks for watching!!
🇹🇷 teşekkürler 🙏
My pleasure!
Hey Brian, my son and I are trying to build a Klx 110 and we can’t get the primary clutch to tighten down It spins the crank and the inside of the clutch why the outside stays, locked down by the oil wrench we’re at a loss. What do you think could be wrong?
Can you install the shifter assembly without removing clutch basket or anything else besides the side cover? I took my cover off to Check the clutch’s and I can’t seem to get the kick start assembly back in with spring on shaft
Can you replace the bumpstop without pulling the shock completely apart
Unfortunately, no. 😢
What kind of oil do use for the transmission/clutch? Ive followed your video and rebuilt my sons cr85r. just curious about fluids. What about engine ice compared to normal anti freeze?
Hi. I use the Honda HP. There is no reason to get fancy with coolant and you never want to second guess your choice - wondering if it is somehow not compatible with your bike. Honda stuff is cost effective and wont let you down. amzn.to/4aGBrjU

Can you make a stock KLX 110 RL SEMI AUTO?
I’m not sure about the transmission configuration on a RL, but the guys at TBOLTUSA would know the answer to your question.
It's really hard to make a well scripted, shot, and edited video like this. Thank you! I hope you get a lot of ad money from it someday.
Thanks WhiteJTW. I hope I do too, but not much $$ so far!
