great work I was thinking with all the cameras on the car imagine if you record to an SD card .... hopefully, there might be a third-party add-on
Thanks for watching, yes that would be an amazing feature! 👍
I drive a Mercedes A250 now (costs me just under £290/month)…this car costs b/w £400-500/month!!!😮 How is that possible…it’s nowhere near as powerful too…makes no sense!
I dont have the audio, phone and navigation options on my dashboard, how do i get it
Thank you so much for this! Any idea if it works for the Seagull?
Thanks for watching! I'm not certain if it does work for the seagull as I haven't been able to test it, but it is worth trying if you are having problems 👍
How do you log on into the system through the car?
Excellent and very useful video. The see-through view enables you to check under your car and see if you've pulled into a disabled or parent and child space. This is a useful feature. In other countries they have an app to enable the 360 camera to act as a dash cam. this would be so useful here and could lower insurance premiums. I really hope they'll bring this feature to UK specced cars. Also wish we had seat ventilation in the UK. I had this on a previous Niro and found it excellent in the summer.
The dash cam feature sounds really useful!
I love this car, not sure if I would own it but I'm considering it, 2nd hand for 20k Eur with less than 20,000 kms... Problem is if you want this car you "must" use it a a CSS charge car only, cause apart from that format all the rest is really slow to charge... Renault 5 is probably the best EV looking apart from this Honda...
Thanks for watching, the Honda E is great fun to drive but it does have its limited use case based on range. Having said that, as a second car it is great.
Why is the tail gate so ugly?
I suppose KGM are going for off-road rugged styling, but it wont be everyone's cup of tea 👍
I’m having this exact same problem. Will try and find the cable you mentioned
I've got a link in the description to the one i used if that helps! Hopefully it works for you 👍
@@theinterfacecars Brother! It worked! Thank you so much. I do find that it takes a bit more battery, but I love it.
@VisibleLewis3 - You're welcome, glad it worked!
Hi Alex and thanks for the great review! I order this exact car with forest green and all.Hopefully steeringwheel is on the left side here in Norway! 🙂 One question: I noticed a japanese guy on a camping trip started the heatpump from his mobilphone-app lying in a roof-tent a winter-morning. My local car-dealer where I order it was nor shure on that.. Do you know if you can remote controlling the heatpump from an app on your phone?
Thanks for watching, glad you like the review 😁 Hope you enjoy it! - I didn't see the app available in the UK, sounds like it might be a regional thing.
@@theinterfacecars Thanks for the reply! Hopefully they come with an update in software if there isn't any on my car either.
I have no problem charging using V4 chargers, but never successfully charged at a V3 charger, not sure why. Thanks for the video
Hmm how odd, I used it on a V3 only and didn't see any issues.
@@theinterfacecarsmaybe I've just been unlucky, used V3 at The Trafford Centre and Merry Hill in Birmingham and neither worked, maybe I'll give them another go, thanks for the reply Alex
Hi i have same honda vezel HRV 2023 but im unable to change language from Japanese to English, please guide me,
Hey, sorry I don’t own the car but you could use the camera on Google Translate or Apple Translate app and hold up the phone to the screen to translate the text on screen. Hope that helps.
Great review. I would have liked to have seen a pros and cons section and some comparisons to other similar sized EVs but you've captured the main features of the Dolphin. I'm going to see one in the flesh later this week and will probably get one. This is pretty heavily influenced by the very poor trade-in value of my iD3 and the fantastic current PCP offers on the Dolphin.
Thank you for the feedback! To be honest there is very little wrong with the car so the cons list would be virtually non existent 😆Its a solid car and as long as the styling is to your taste you should be happy with it!
Only one of the USB ports is a data port. If you look at the symbol on the ports, they are different. One will charge only, the other will work for data as well as charge. In Australia, the USB A port is the data port and the USB C is for charging. Latest update in Australia has wireless Apple CarPlay.
Hi Robert, thanks for watching! Yep that's right. On this UK version of the car, the port on the right is for data and the left one is just charging. Unfortunately we don't have wireless CarPlay yet, but hopefully it will be rolled out soon 🙂
Thank you for the tip! You can also try to delete the Dolphin on your iPhone and setup new. Sometimes, restarting the Android OS on the big screen helps. This can be done by holding the volume knob for several seconds until the system restarts. Thailand meanwhile got the update with wireless CarPlay and it works very good.
Thanks for watching!👍
The Dolphin is actually the size of a VW ID.3, not a Polo. I agree it is better than an ID.3. Your comments about wind noise surprised me. The Atto 3 was absolutely terrible for wind noise at 70 mph+, absolute deal breaker. But I didn’t get that on the Dolphin. I loved its ride, comfort and performance. All really good. Surprised they are still delivering Dolphins on LingLong tyres. They were going to switch to Hankook … I agree with your conclusion. And yes I would buy one too. Just discovered your channel today and have subscribed.
Thanks for the Info and the sub! I found wind noise on the Dolphin to be perfectly acceptable and depending on what car you are coming from, you might find it to be a non issue. I completely agree regarding comfort, these seats are lovely and supportive and they look good too!
Nice review, Alex 👏🏼 Neat little van for more local stuff I must say. Saw your channel advertised over on Jim's - Definitely Not A Guru channel. Subbed 👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome, thank you! 🙏
Hi Alex, great review, just wondering if you are certain about the seats no longer being part leather / part micro fleece ? thanks
Hey David, thanks! - Yeah just checked the configurator, the micro fleece seats aren't available on new orders but you probably will find one in the used market that has it. Looks like it was a temporary thing that was offered for one reason or another.
Hi Alex, I’m confused the configuration tool says standard interior is “Seat trim covers in "ArtVelours" “ VW we’re not at all clear when I asked today.
Hey mate I'm from Australia and have the Amarok Style V6 Trying to find how to connect the car to wifi or update it somehow Noticed in "connectivity" tab you have the manage wifi networks and my car doesn't... Mine also doesn't have "system updates" tab Is it a update Volkswagen have to do to get them features? Cheers!
Hello, Thanks for watching! Sorry I am not too sure, perhaps there are differences between the UK and Australia software. I can only advise that you speak to your local Volkswagen dealer for more info 🙂
I love the look of the Dolphin, especially in the two tone colours! BYD seem to be one of the better Chinese car brands for quality.
Thanks! Agreed, a lot of Chinese cars are a little bit disappointing in terms of quality, but BYD are competing with VW on that front 👍
hello, i connected my iphone 12 using usb a to iphone charger and nothing happened
Hey, thanks for watching - Did you use the USB-C to USB-A adapter as mentioned in the video?
@@theinterfacecars could you pls send a link to what it looks like?
Here you go - www.apple.com/shop/product/MJ1M2AM/A/usb-c-to-usb-adapter
thank u so much, I think also the car needs a software update which i rly cant do cuz it tells me its checking its current format then nothing happens
@@mahmoudmeneassy6868 I have uploaded a video on how to use the adapter if you are still interested! If you are still having problems with connecting your phone I would recommend contacting your local BYD dealer and they should be able to assist 🙂
50k hideous
Great review! I've had mine in the comfort trim in urban grey since Nov. I absolutely love mine, I've had the cupra born, Niro and mg4(awful reliability and dealership back up😂) all 3 around 35k miles in total . If you swap the ling longs it transforms the handling. 0-60 can be achieved at 6 seconds on the trip which I've achieved a few times with practice....
Hey Peter, thanks for watching and commenting! 100% agree, the Dolphin is very impressive and very efficient. Interesting point about the tyres, what did you swap them for?
@@theinterfacecars I had them swapped for Hankooks. I was really unhappy with them especially in the wet! Only had them on for a week
Thanks!
yes, you can turn the lane assist off, - the lane assist button on the steering wheel, hit that twice and it turns it off.
I am consider the HRV and the new Lexus LBX.
Thanks for this review..I'm looking at changing from the 2018 Vitara. My job entails a lot of driving, and this was (is?) an option. I'm also thinking about the Frontier, especially for the lumbar support.
Thanks for watching, I didn't get on too well in terms of comfort with the petrol Torres - for some reason sears in the EVX Electric version were much more comfortable. I would recommend taking one out for a test drive if you can 👍
Great video mate! I have just subscribed to help your channel to grow!
Thank you! 👍
Shame it’s so plastic and can mark and damage easy
You mentioned torque steer but based on other reviews I think that's likely to be the lane assist.
It seems an expensinve extraterestrial Dacia
Consommation?
Thanks for watching, I got 38mpg from this car :) Hope that helps!
Looks pretty cool!
genesis/Hyundai/ KIA EVs lose its 40% value in 2 years.....
Never a better time to buy a used one then! :)
This is the EX-L trim since you are showing a 9inch screen. Which also has wireless carplay. The others dont just to be clear if anyone was wondering. Not sure if all have navigation either. Might be nice to make that clear.
Thanks for sharing! I think this may be a regional thing. This car in the video is the 'Advance Style' trim, we don't have an EX-L over here. I believe all of the UK trims have the same 9 inch screen. I can see that in the USA that the LX and the Sport have a different screen 🙂
@@theinterfacecars I kinda figured it was a UK swag. I really like the 9inch features. Cheers!
Nice work
Thanks :)
How much per Kw is BP charging?
Hey thanks for watching, costs can be at the NEC 85p if you use contactless, 83p for using the free BP app and 69p for the BP subscription.
How is the sound insulation ?
Hey, thanks for watching - the sound insulation wasn't too bad, it could be better especially on the driver window. The electric EVX version however, it much better. Full review of that car coming soon.
Hi in your opinion is it worth buying as it does look a nice suv
Hey Andrew, thanks for watching - if you can find a good lease deal on it then potentially. I would say the electric version is a much better riding car and is more compliant on the road. There is a full review of that car coming soon.
I'm buying a GV60 because it's luxurious, quiet, and ferociously fast. Like most people who own an EV (regardless of brand), It'll be charged at home, so the fact I may not find a charger 1000's of miles away in the middle of Nebraska isn't a deal breaker. The loudest EV haters tend to be those who live their entire lives within a 50 mile radius from where they were born, and salty about being so poor they can't afford a used Corolla. No amount of common sense will help them.
😂😂👍
Great idea to have these more detailed infotainment guides as well as the car review - really useful!
Glad it was helpful! 👍👍
How much did you pay to charge in Edinburgh? Council 55 pence a kWh, Airport Rapid chargers out of order sice last year. MFG or BP around 79 pence a kWh, Podpoint 65. Best is Tesla non Tesla, 40-55 pence a kWh.
PodPoint 75p/kWh 7kW for around an hour the next morning, then down to Adderstone Tesla chargers which was 37p/kWh. Hope that helps 👍🏻
@@theinterfacecars Thank you. Podpoint Lidl / Tesco is 62 pence or 65 pence for Rapid.. BP Pulse South Queensferry 85 pence. Edinburgh City Council 7kw AC 45 pence a kWh.
Can we get an Android system installed?
Thanks for watching - do you mean Android Auto?
Do you still get charged a pre authorisation fee of £40 if you have the Electroverse RFID card? Or do you just pay what you’ve acquired from the charge via the Electroverse app with your saved payment details? Great video
Thanks for watching! No, you don't have to do a pre-auth with Electroverse, you can pay once the charge is finished, or you can have it added to your next Octopus electric bill, if you are with them. Hope that helps 👍
@@theinterfacecars Thanks Alex, spot on 👍🏼
I don't do much better than that in my Kona. Did you have a head wind that day, seems very good for a larger and heavier car?
Weather conditions that day were in our favour to be honest, but also the M5 and M6 did have 50mph and 60mph speed limits. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
The UK is small enough to work for ANY EV that's >250 miles rated. Teslas, Hyundai/Kia/Genesis and likely several others now. Charging is required about when you need to pee/eat/drink. Really a no-brainer.
Totally agree, thanks for watching 👍🏻
So the VW Golf steering wheel is a bit meh? Straight from the parts bin!
@ 64p per kWh that's worse pound for pound than 40mpg @ current petrol prices and that's cheap for a service station
No it's not. 64p/ 4 mpkwh is 16p a mile Petrol Is now £1.50 on AVG and if using motorway services petrol ( a fair comparison for motorway electricity surely) would be £1.70+ So would be £1.50-£1.70 /40 mpg X4.5l to the gallon to be 17p-19p a mile. Would a larger executive SUV like the GV60 really do 40mpg too? The national AVG is 38.8 for example. I think it might be lower....
@@Lewis_Standing 4 mpkwh what you driving the model 3 performance I got rid of three months ago never saw that
@@nickthegriffin it's what he got in the video if you watched it. It's what I get in my Kona. It's what you'd expect at least from a model 3. Btw at home I pay 7.5p/kWh so it's 2p a mile for the first 256 miles....
@@Lewis_Standing that was impossible for me with octopus I had a 7kw charger and a window of 6 hrs to get cheap electricity so max was 42kw
@@nickthegriffin that tariff gives you more time at the cheaper rate whenever you ask for it
Absolutely no drama at all. Great video for demonstrating how practical the EVs have become. It is my experience too.
Totally agreed, thanks for watching 👍
would have appreciate some recap numbers at the end: miles, avg. speed, cost.,,
Thanks for watching! There is some info in the description in case you missed it. Unfortunately I did not track the average speed.
Do work on mg hs
Thanks for watching, these should work with the MG HS EV but we’ve verified that 👍
Great car
👌👍🏻
