The are two connections inside. One is where the inlet hose goes in. Just pop off the side panel and it might be the connector is not on properly. The other deep inside is where the reel hose is connected. If it is that one and you are still under warranty, send it back. More likely Hoselock will just send you another as it's too much of a faff to return and fix it for you. It's a nightmare to fix yourself.

Question please. Does the ignition needs to be on or off while removing / adding fuse 82/83 ? Thanxs
@MikeAston-vd6vtАй бұрын
Sorry only just seen your post. I did it with the ignition ON otherwise nothing will move as windows and mirrors etc. don't run with ignition off. As ever though anything you do to your car is at your own risk ..... this is only DIY guys offering their experiences not an Aston Martin dealership. You know what I'm saying no Warranty, Guarantee no responsibility. Mike😉

Yes better getting other brand these are garbage for retracting.

Did you remove the side cover and connect the hose to the reel? 😮
@Bob62 Жыл бұрын
You can take apart to get to the centre hose connection, just Do NOT unscrew the centre white connector screws as the release the spring mechanism. The hose connector is connected on the other side from the spring.

Does work...but only in the short term. Door module is on the way out. They are approx £280 plus 3 hours labour. They upgraded them in 2009 but will fit in earlier models and are a lot more reliable.

My 30m reel with model number 2402 has the same issue of dripping from inside. It must be the design failure. Trying to contact them and get a solution.

It worked! Weird but works. I failed for the first time, because us version's driver is on the left, so the fuse for the driver side is F82 instead of F83.

My new 40m Hoselock reel leaks like this one. The newer grey ones don’t seem to be ‘serviceable’ in the way that the green ones were. What is wrong with their quality control / design ? I don’t seem to be the only purchaser experiencing this issue withers auto reel hose holders given similar comments on other Hoselock related videos........

I connected my 40m reel last week (after 12 months sitting in the box in garage!). It was perfectly fine initially, but on roughly its 3rd use today I noticed a small but regular drip from underneath. It hasn’t been pulled out even half way, so it can’t have been pulled loose. Came on here to find out if it could be dismantled without the sprung mechanism completely falling apart. Just watched another clip before coming here, and I’d say the answer to that is probably a firm NO. It looks like the spring tension is undone by the removal of the centre joint that the short piece of hose (to the tap) connects to under the removable panel - the user noting that on the removal of the final screw, the plastic part spun round with considerable force, so watch your fingers if you decide to do a DIY job. It looks like they don’t want you to - much like most other manufacturers (Kärcher, to my cost). I totally agree that it shouldn’t be rocket science, but unfortunately I think they make it non-serviceable. Manufacturer of hose makes leaky hose shock! How hard could it be to have made the connection an external one to the closed unit, so it could be tightened up

Had exactly the same problem on 40M auto reel as Mike on first using the hose, it leaked exactly as his did. But when I pulled all the hose out to investigate, the spring mechanism released itself (frightening). So left with a pile of hose that will not retract. You could see the problem, the inner hose connection which looks like a flimsy plastic rather than metal type clip, had detached. I contacted Wickes who supplied it and as it was under warranty asked for replacement. After a long battle with no replies to emails, I ended up emailing the CEO direct (that did the trick, google his email address) they replaced it. In sum, I think there is a serious design fault in this product - hopefully the replacement has fault rectified - so far so good

Nice information. I have a 2005 DB9 with fussy window function too. Lose calibration for the glass drop function every month or two but that is a quick reset. Have not had this problem yet. About once or twice a year the seat motors lose calibration too. You know that issue quickly since the seats only move forward and not back or up. That one forces you out of the car fast to reset since it moves you too close to steering wheel. All of these are computer control system errors. A nuisance for sure but easy remedying.
