Luca Lampariello

Luca Lampariello

Hello, everybody. This channel is dedicated to my greatest passion -- languages.

My name is Luca and I'm from Italy.

I've been studying languages for about 20 years and a few years ago I reached a very important conclusion: languages cannot be taught; they can only be learned. Once you realize that it totally changes your approach and you understand why the famous "language classes" have such a low success rate.

So I decided to share not only my passion for languages but also techniques for studying them, with optimism, passion, effective methods and experience. Learning a new language takes time but it's not difficult.

My mission is to help people understand that. If anyone tells you you that just knowing English is enough tell him "he who learns another language acquires another soul".

the anecdote of the interpreter is not good enough to convince me. more liked she was embarrassed to make mistakes rather than being unable to speak. transfer is much more significant than Luca implies. imo and in my experience

I don't have to convince anybody ;-) I have seen countless examples of this while I was attending that school in Paris

I think in countries where English is not the language, the bilingual education should be mandatory in the schools from the childhood to the university. I am sure it would make diference in the people life and in the country business, tourism, economy... But the govermments does not take interest on it

Thanks, Luca! First, I learned English reading, but I didn't develop my listening, writing, and speaking skills. So, after that, I improved my listening. Today, I can read and listen, but I can't speak/write fluently. So, I am taking classes and practicing speech, but I don't have the confidence to do so. This is my current challenge! The brain seems to have different compartments for each of these skills.

Do you have a video or course where you go more in depth on how to "maintain" multiple target languages whilst learning a new one? I wanna learn how you actually go about maintaining a language in detail.
