I remember reading a comment now lost in the hundreds of comments since from a violinist who was practising playing this piece while at home but she had to stop because it was making her sister cry. About sums it up. It is such an emotional piece.

Currently playing this with my middle school orchestra and gotta say, fun to listen, maybe not so much to play (3/2? really??) Love the performance, though, beautiful!

I never heard about this piece until I heard it on the radio a few days ago. It’s really weird bc it was written by an obscure composer and doesn’t sound baroque at all, more like a movie score from the 20th century. Very interesting.

What a stunning performance - such passion, clarity and gorgeous tone. (Didn't even look at the video element, was too entranced by the music.) If this is heretical, I don't care: Sarah Chang plays this beautiful piece BETTER than Jascha Heifetz. Absolutely phenomenal.

I heard all interpretation and each of them has got a great brilliance. It is normal that we prefer this or the other version. La chaconne is certainly the most dificult piece for the violin. Mendelssohn Was of the opinion that nobody can play it. Heifetz did it. And Itzhak Perlmann. Technical perfection is for the Chaconne therefore already almost impossible. Then the interpretation is still more difficult and depends to a high degree upon the emotional background and life experience. Lets listening to her interpretation in 20 years when I just reached 102 years.

Good performance by Sarah, but too bad the audio quality of this video isn't great. The distortion of the audio seems to imply that the audio levels were set too high when creating this video.
