    does anyone know, during the chorus, whats that extra improvisation of “you better call” and “calll ittt” is that a reference to another song, or was it like that in another clapton version ?

    el alma que le pone Clapton es insuperable, aunque creo que es una buena versión del tema, pero cuando eric lo toca lo hace suyo lo hace el blues de bulses.

    He is and will be the greatest guitar player of all time, songwriting (a true poet) , and the most grateful for his career, he's a touring ❤ MF'r. I've said and still say, John is his own genre ❤!!! He gives back to his fans every time he plays live, by just talking to them, sharing his thoughts and feelings l. Yeah I know I talk a lot.

When will I ever learn? Old love, leave me alone Old love, go on home I can see your face But I know that it's not real It's just an illusion Caused by how I used to feel And it makes me so angry To know that the flame will always burn I'll never get over I know now that I'll never learn Old love, leave me alone Old love, go on home

    @@larryray86 and I don’t get how you could say that, everyone got their influences. It’s just unfair to say Mayer is not that special/unique. If you’re going to say that you either have not listened to enough of his music or you also think SRV totally ripped off Albert King, and Hendrix ripped off Buddy Guy but that’s just bs too. Mayer’s style and habits are totally different than SRV and Clapton, I literally see it all the times when I’m listening and playing their stuff, if you don’t then idk what you are doing on guitar?!

    This is a way better song than ‘friends, lovers, or nothing’

  • @ethangarcia854
    @ethangarcia85411 ай бұрын

    I think friends lovers or nothing is a more accomplished song in terms of hooks and melody and overall I think this song doesn’t rly have a hook. It’s just aimless singing so I’m happy this turned into the anything other than yes is no part cause that is soooo catchy

  • @spinblackcircles
    @spinblackcircles11 ай бұрын

    @@ethangarcia854 completely disagree this song has a way better hook. It is not aimless it follows the same melody the entire song. The ‘I want to fall asleep in the arms of a woman’ part is the hook. You can tell because he sings it like 3 times lol

  • @NeilsonMusic
    @NeilsonMusic7 ай бұрын

    @@spinblackcirclesexactly. Not only is the hook melodically great, but the lyrical delivery is clever. Each line flows into the next one. And then it sets up the outro chorus like good foreshadowing.

    It’s too lose in the “bridge” area almost like he just tossed in a bunch of chord progressions to fill space. FLoN is definitely more of a structurally sound song but the beginning of this song……can’t be beat. Just my opinion
