When you’re young and skate, no one thinks twice. It’s a kids sport, that’s just something kids do. But when you get out of school and get a job, you’re expected to put away the board and be responsible.
So what about the people who didn’t get that memo? Those who continue to skate long after their first marriage, mortgage, child, etc. The people who’d rather hit a skatepark on Saturday morning than a golf course.
As Jay Adams once said - “you didn’t quit skateboarding because you got old, you got old because you quit skateboarding.”
We are the people who never stopped skating, came back to it or are picking it up for the first time. We skate because it’s fun, because it makes us free and alive. Skateboarding keeps us young, no matter how old we get. And even if it is a little harder to get up on Monday, because of a killer sesh on Saturday, there’s nothing else we’d rather do.

I remember going to Dallas and froze to death at the skate house what a party
Nice grip, the orange stain brings out the stripes…rrraawwrr!
Thanks - Drew is a grip master! This is a thing of beauty!
Always lubricate your ceramic bearings, get the Bronson ceramic, with 80mm 80a wheels, then You’ll be cooking
That sounds like a recipe for speed!
Thought a lot latly about all the reasons that led up to him passing at the shop He had more help than people thought. I must’ve done about 80% of the production and marketing up till his passing for the last seven years or so. There’s definitely many reasons why he passed in the shop and that business was going down. He would never make changes and make sacrifices and take certain chances, but there’s all kinds of reasons behind those things I watch that place suffer for seven years until he couldn’t find anybody else to help him. But he was really good at keeping things quiet. he definitely wanted the credit as doing it all himself, but it’s more than contributions stuff like this is a contribution, but he had more help than people know. if it weren’t for him getting into the roller derby industry that business would’ve been long dead since Tony Hawk days died down. I give so much things over those years to the roller derby community for keeping him alive as lo my as they did. Rest in Peace Wild bill. Thank you for your efforts for this contribution to his name. Greatly appreciated.
Thank you for sharing your experiences-it’s great to hear from those who were a part of Pro Designed. It’s very interesting to know how much the roller derby helped keep things going - that makes sense as they always wear pads whereas skateboarders don’t always.
@@GeezerSkateCo he always said it himself. He had skateboarding in his heart big time, but the reality is the competition triumphed. 187/ protec, there’s a lot of things he could’ve done on the inside that would’ve made it a lot easier for the brand to thrive in business, but he stuck to his core roots, and it was always a very noble thing to see. I’m sure we can all appreciate the things he did and how well he kept the products quality . Would make an interesting video. You did a great job again thank you for your contribution. 🤙
Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross and was buried then rose on the third day and was seen in Jesus Christ name we pray amen for God so loved the world he gave his one and only son to die on the cross so that whoever believes in him and puts there faith in him shall not perish but have eternal life🙏

Appreciate it! Keep skating, stop aging!
These Life Skateboards are sick!
They really are! The geezers are big fans!
@@GeezerSkateCo I've been looking both at the Dump truck and the Large Double Knuckle Head models.
In 1987 I also had a pair of those green suede Vision Street Wear high tops.
Those vision high tops were so awesome! I wish they’d reissue then
I rather give props to the skater dads who never stopped
Hey geezer, I think I remember you when I was working at PD with Bill I saw an article on Google and it brought me over here. I remember making those camo pads and many more. Hope you cherish them well ✌️
Oh wow, that is awesome! Thank you for letting me know. The pads are perfect and have save my wrists, elbows and knees many times! The foam you all used is amazing - this craftsmanship will be greatly missed!
@@GeezerSkateCo I’m glad you all love them! They were and still are the best 💪This was very touching to watch. Thank you for your contribution to his legacy, Yee haw!!
Wild Bill was a hellava man! Got to hang with him all during the lat 80’s and early 90’s. My Pro Designed pads are still good today. RIP Wild Bill Yee Haw!!
That’s awesome that you knew him for all those years - I’ll bet you have some fun stories! That is a testament to his product that your pads are still going strong - yeehaw!

My friend had a Zorlac Metallica board back in the 80s. I had a Variflex Speed Freak but I still shredded harder, 😂. Zorlac were THE deck to ride at the time!!
That Speed Freak was such a great graphic - wish they’d reissue it! Zorlac made the sickest boards for sure!

Always wear a helmet on vert. The moment you go to flat head first you’ll wish you had a bucket on your melon.
Wooden bowls are so weird . The corners aren’t really round but more of a bunch of square sections. It’s soooo weird lol.
So true! Concrete bowls are the best. Sadly this bowl has been torn down.
Don’t stop making videos! The 40, 50, 60+ crowd is coming on strong! Love the Geezer tee’s and hats! Agree with David, as a kid that hung with losers, I found martial arts and cycling as an adult and realized that people who work hard at having fun are generally good people.
Thank you so much for the support and encouragement! Love the way you stated that those who work hard at having fun are generally good people - that has been our experience too! Here’s to community wherever it may be!
Best decade ever!
Heck yes it was! Where’s our Time Machine???
Bearing slop robs you of speed. I always use spacers.
Us now too! What bearings do you use?
That indoor bowl looks really fun 😁that Lucero Madrid brings back memories, back in the 80's it was more about style then is trixies.
This bowl is amazing! And yes, that Madrid is sick, but not the best for street skating
I miss guapo
Us too - that place was amazing! Sadly it doesn’t sound like it will reopen
@@GeezerSkateCo my Wednesday nights haven’t been the same since
My first board was a no name brand mini 27” cruiser I gave a custom graphic and some old Gullwing Mission 1 trucks *I got it 3 years ago and still holds to this day
Sweet! What terrain are you riding - skateparks, pools, ditches, sidewalks?
@@GeezerSkateCo cobblestone and Rocky streets in Florida
Craig Johnson my best skate ever so much pop
Zorlac best rides ever built.
That’s great to know! I never had an OG, but I’m on the hunt for some reasonably priced ones (which I won’t skate now, just hang on the wall)
A blast with ADX skating back in the day at skate time. Cheers dude
So cool you got to skate together back in the day! Anthony has an amazing story and all that he did with his brands!
❤❤❤❤
I road his zorlac, Alva and Embassy. I have every embassy he’s put out. Course I’ve trash one of my loco gringos. Craig’s boneless John boneless Jeff’s laybacks front sides. I’ve watched all in person do these. Texas skaters rock. I grew up on the flux ramp in east Texas
He had the best graphics and most insane skate style - the whole Zorlac crew were awesome! Texas is the reason!
Marks son is my friend !!!
Sad to hear that he passed away. I'm 50 years old and still have the pro designed knee and elbow pads I bought in 1995. They're nearly 30 years old and still holding strong! Mine were black, had the slide in fabric then two velcro straps. RIP Wild Bill.
That’s quite a testimony to Wild Bill’s pads - so awesome to hear they’re still going strong after all this time! Can’t imagine other pads lasting this long!
You sir are an artist.
Thank you - we are big fans of Nate from the Point - he’s the one applying this grip tape like the pro he is!
This pump track is nice but it’s not the largest in the USA there’s one in Tulsa Oklahoma that makes this one seem very Small. That said, it is a very beautiful park though.
You’re correct, I need to update the title - sorry for the misinformation! But if you get a chance, check it out, it is fun
Landing on its side like primo is what messes up the axle.
Very true-also messes up your feet!
Craig's the best in that gator documentry . Funny mofo.
Right? I had to go back and watch that again - he’s a legend!
I still have my Sims Lester board from back in "84 and never knew what the E on the top meant. Thanks for the info.
Gen X, riding Black Label since ‘88, subbed.
Appreciate the sub! What are you riding currently?
Craig is rad. Total legend.
The man, the myth; the legend!
@@GeezerSkateCo Absolutely.
First thing I noticed was the Santa Cruz Shirt on the Texas guy. awesome.
Haha, yep, for people of a certain age, Santa Cruz will always be a big deal 😉
Where's your pads, Josh?!
This was before i wore pads around 2015
The art on most of those boards were done by Bernie Tostenson. Most are reissued by Brand X now.
Love the art on these decks - Bernie is amazing!
I'd argue that you don't even need bearings, you might not even need wheels as long as you have the spacers...
I believe Daewon Song proved that years ago 😉
@@GeezerSkateCo hes magic on a skateboard
Place is like a candy store. Looks amazing.
It really is! I can spend way too much time and money here!
I had the privilege of helping Wild Bill at his pad shop in Houston back in the day, probably in the early 90s. Really all I did was watch him make them; I just donated my p/up truck & time, running errands. But I got to see Bill's secrets of pad-making, and if I told ya about the hi-tek way that he formed the plastic knee depressions, he'd probably rise up and slay me lol! A good guy & a fun guy too! RIP Wild Bill! 😇 PS: Hi "Patriot Pat", Robert, Chuck & Henry!
Wow, that’s amazing you got to work with him - I’ll bet you have some stories! He was a character who made the best pads - I’ll be quite upset when mine wear out.
Bro this is the best place to skate in dfw area because its indoor because outside in summer it is about 105-115 degrees in the average day in summer (don't over heat)
Heck yeah! It’s way too hot out in the summer - so thankful for an indoor park!
Greybeards grind gnarlier🤘
Yeah we do! That may be the joints grinding in our hips, but dammit, we’re grinding!
Always support more females skaters! Salute!!
Awesome, just what I needed thank you guys!
No way! my PD knee pads are still looking and feeling incredible a decade later - I’d never willingly choose anything else. Rip Dude 😢
That is awesome to hear and a testament to the quality product that Wild Bill created. Hope they last the rest of your skate life!
Nice! Love that park👍
It’s an amazing park! Wish we lived closer to skate it more often!
I'm in my late 30's and recently bought a new cruiser board and having a blast on it. Thank you for making this video, now I want to go skate the pump track bad!
So cool about your cruiser! Have you ridden a pump track before? It’s a lot of fun! Let us know if you go here or another park with a pump track
@@GeezerSkateCo I'll be there this Friday! First timer!!! Thanks again hope to see you out there!
Well,I'll be flibber-jibbed! Enjoyed this alot👍 I was riding SIMS prototype wide boards '78-'80 that no one else rode at all. DONEL Distributors were hooking me up at Bent Cement skatepark after I'd had a chat with Lonnie Toft. SIMS decks spent more time in AMMO than ALVA or Dogtown in the early years.. Good times🤘
