Franklin Habit

Franklin Habit

Mine is a little world full of beautiful things: knitting, embroidery, sewing. Sketches. Books. History. And thoughts, silly and serious, about all of the above.

Franklin, I saw a purple lace shawl (lace in motion) that I just loveed. Can you share where I may find this pattern andwhat yarn you used?

@franklinhabit Hello! I find this so inspiring. I too have Eliza Acton's 1845 reprint and I'm going to try her Christmas Pudding this year. Did you add sherry, madeira (what kind?), or dry white wine to the sauce (what page is it on?) And it didn't clash with the brandy? Where did you purchase your mold? I hope you make more Eliza Acton videos, I'm totally going to scan your channel for more of her recipes! You're so lovely to listen to!

The beginning of this video almost made me cry, seeing how this machine had been uncared for. It quickly became a love letter to these beautiful machines. Such a lovely thing, to watch this beauty emerge from the dust and grime, like a butterfly from a cocoon. ❤

These VS machines sound noisy, but they produce a much superior stitch than today's machines--perfectly straight, as opposed to slanted. A VS machine is on my bucket list.

Not shocked at all with part of the cemetery being under the viaduct…..the dead have to lay somewhere! It’s very nice to know that the cemetery’s in Paris are being looked after and are visited by people who don’t know the people buried there but visit them nevertheless!

I was there two years ago and loved this place so much. I went back twice. My impression as well, the beauty of the melancholy of decay.

Why wait for it to cool? Christmas Pudding is always eaten hot.
