Please, don't you know when you are going out into the wilderness, it's dangerous. For example, lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my. Don't you understand that when you are going out into the wilderness, you need a large caliber firearm to protect yourself and your party. But, first, be trained in knowing how to use your firearm first.

Went elk hunting in the mountains above Silver City in the fall of 1986. While out hunting one morning came across some small human type footprints with what looked like a claw or talon coming out of the tips of the toes. Was clearly visible in the wet dirt. Went back to camp and got my hunting buddies and a Polaroid camera and returned to the footprints and took a picture. My buddies and I couldn't believe it. After a week in the mountains we left to go back to Cruces and stopped at the police station in Silver City. Showed them the picture but they just laughed at it. I still have that picture but folks today think it's photoshopped or something. Come on, it's a Polaroid picture, how could you possibly photoshop that? Anyway, it's a crazy picture of something not normal and completely out of place. If you're a hunter then you know that there are things in the mountains that just don't make sense sometimes.

Great story! Got to say that I love camping though. Bushcraft too but wild camping especially. Learning how to forage, how to read the land and how to thrive is just an awesome thing. These stories are great! :) will never keep me from real wilderness though. Human beings would scare me more than anything else tbh 😅

Very exciting and creepy story Bro , and I really enjoyed it .. Hahaha " The Old Irish Way " , or as the Italians would say " He sleeps with the fishes " .. It's a good thing that Frank & Jimmy put a plan together , and followed through with it , as who knows how many more victims Patrick could of claimed . Thank you for brightening up my evening Sir ..

I camp a lot.I never go into the woods without a firearm. I also wear my boots when I sleep, because you need to be ready to move instantly if something bad happens. And if you know which direction east and west are, then you know where south is, duh.

Hello all, what is amazing to me is that nobody even noticed this predator... This monster sat outside an elementary school every single day at the same time in the same vehicle for an entire week and nobody paid any attention!!! I would hope that one person working at that school was observant enough to point this individual out to the higher ups and/or the authorities... This tragedy could have been avoided along with further episodes if just one person would have paid attention 😢

Don’t give a crap with whatever the law states, or whatever society says, or whatever the news media will say if a situation goes bad. If you or small group of friends are gonna go miles deep into the wilds, experienced outdoorsmen types that know all about how to survive without grocery stores, electricity, running water and on and on… REMEMBER: THAT YOU ARE ON THE MENU WHEN YOU ARE THAT FAR AWAY FROM CIVILIZATION!!! Don’t go without a means or tools to end a life, animal or human!!! At 16yrs old I was 2.5 miles into a swamp, wetlands area overrun with wild hogs. I was hunting these hogs with a bow & arrow. I intended to hit a hefty sized sow. She turned towards my direction. The arrow slipped right past her and stuck a piglet I never noticed! Two piglets were behind her and were definitely her offspring. I spent OVER SEVEN HOURS SETTING IN A TREE! All while she tried to rip the world up around that tree and me. She would have torn me into shreds if she could have gotten ahold of me!! Ive never went back into the sticks without carrying at least a .357 revolver on my side! Humans do not have razor edged tusks, claws, fangs, and senses so powerful that can track a scent for days at a time. The BEST WEAPON I and anyone else will ever have is setting IN BETWEEN our ears!! If you do not use your brain to find the advantages in a situation and exploit them, you will remain prey for the carnivores of this planet!!

Cant wait till you have paid membership and more stories . Can I make a request ?😊 Anything scary from Cambodia, Morocco or the Mojave desert, surviving satanic cult mystery for example. . My fav was The Farm...The best on internet. Had me actually on pins and needles. Absolutely brilliant. 😊 Your backstories that take place here but you fit in ancient lore from far off, and those exotic countries are truly next level horror. Few have the imagination to pull it off. And you do it so well. Everything here in US alone is so overplayed.

One day you will really shock everyone by ending a story with 'And they lived happily ever after.' But i won't hold my breath for that day. because i reckon even if you do it, it will be the mad-dog murdering backwoods feral men who get to live happily ever after next to some hog-tied screaming women

I was stationed at Kinloss from 1976 to 1981 and nobody called it Kinloss Barracks at that time. It was an RAF Station and was known as RAF Kinloss. It was, that time (the sixties to the nineties), one of (if not the) major Maritime Air Bases in the UK. It was much, much later than your tale that it became 'Kinloss Barracks'. Incidentally, the Main gate was practically on the main road and is loctated some six miles from Forres. The 'Mess Hall', which was actually called the Airman's Restaurant (the building no longer exists), was not located beyond the gate but over the road from the camp and situated with the Airman's accommodation. The domestic area was not gated at that time It was almost adjacent to the block I lived in, Block No 7. I guess that I am saying that I do not buy the tale. Quite apart from the points I have already made, very few people in the UK have closets that an adult would consider suitable to hide in. In the sixties, most closets in the UK would have been a wooden cupboard and not a walk-in room as you seem to imply. Quite simply, the teller of the tale, I doubt has ever seen Kinloss, Forres, Findhorn or indeed anywhere else in Morayshire.
