I remember seeing Amstel Gold Race in 2019. My jaw dropped and eyes popped I can surely tell. What a legendary race.
The FDJ rider was going out of his way and even used his shoulder at the end to try to push Vandepoel out of the way... The disqualification should be on him and him alone. Vandepoel's sprint was out of the other guy's league, and it was clear that he just tried to block his advance because he couldn't win the sprint straight up. A true lack of sportsmanship.
This is like the B Group rally fans in the 80s.
You can also talk about Marianne Vos or Puck Pieterse, both female dutch riders who have astonishing careers...

So what I've gathered from watching this is that the fans are lobotomites, just like in any sports. The difference is, other sports know this and have evolved enough to not let the lobotomites interact with the athletes while they're competing

Yeah only not boring part of cycling is the crashes not sure if this needs to stop really. Maybe stop cycling and taking up the roads, spaces and time from people who dont care you can peddle for along time.
What a great video! Although the end (World Championships) seemed a bit rushed and unfortunately the Mur de Bretagne win at the TdF wasn't included.

Yeah...over 100 years ago, it make sense to let the fans so close. Nowadays, with digital media, there is no need of doing so. Why not ban people 50 feet away from critical points, like the starting and finishing ? As well as on narrow roads, up the mountains? Watch it online, no need to jump right into the peloton!

Here we are, again and again, talking about the same whole shit... Incomprehensible how annoying people can be and take someone out sport for the rest of life, breaking down results and all minor type of injuries or expesive costs with damaged equipments. It's a double suspense to see the race's end and people so close all around.
Van Der Poel is a incredibile cyclist. I don't know he well before this documentary. I was more involved in 2010s cycling world with sagan, froome, nibali, tony martin and the others. Great Mathieu!
