dare i say she is the best performer of all time? you can tell how she relates to EVERY SINGLE lyric she sings, you can tell how they were written by her and by her emotions. it's so raw and beautiful hearing her open up like this, i'm so happy to have the priviledge to hear her art 🤍

One of the most beautiful songs, I have ever heard. Fiona you capture so much deep emotion into one song that touches me so deeply and relate too on so many levels. Keep making music that touches the human soul with fervor!

She is a real one, that's all. That is the exeption in this often sad world and her songs were coloured by men and rape. As a vocalist and woman i had learned much from her back in the day. This one is a girls feelings, sweet performance. She's grown in maturity these days. It's quite painful to watch, but my focus is the music. ;)

im lucky enough to have seen him several times when he toured the UK, 2 of his performances were just outstanding, one of them was in the Liverpool Philarmonic, he decided after about 4 or 5 songs the acoustics didnt suit his band, so played the rest of the gig acoustic...once in a lifetime thing. The second was either in Manchester or Blackpool, and he decided to send off a member of his band with each song towards the end, and ended up playing the last few songs on his own...again...just amazing. Very few artist can pull that sort of thing off...but he did..i think i saw him 4 times in the space of 6 months, each one a totally different experience

This is so so good.... totally unspoilt, I love the sound of the electric guitar, and of course Ray's unique voice is such an amazing instrument, beautiful song, 2 wounded souls giving each other comfort in this crazy harsh world, I love how the violins seep in, it really is a tip top performance, Rays voice is so damn cool! I never forget when I first heard Mr Lamontagne, I was in a pub getting ready to do a gig, I think it was called The Eagle, our slide guitar player knew the landlord, and asked him to play Ray's "Trouble" album .....blew me away man......I think Ray's voice could touch the heart of a worn out street dog ....pure soul power ...... been a fan ever since ....

Labels realized they should only promote artists who will need them even after they become stars. They look for artists that are childlike, need auto tune, need huge productions that they don’t know how to produce. Talented singers don’t need labels after labels make them famous. They end up with the leverage for deals later on and, worse, they can be political problems. That is why the music industry promotes mediocre talent and avoids great talent nowadays.

These BBC sessions (and Letterman) are by far the best recordings of Ray Lamontagne. Deep soul singers give their best to an audience, not to a microphone...

Pity about the synth - it's jarring and off key, adds nothing!
