If I ever started to collect/play AOS, I'm going Seraphon, love those widdle lizards
14:31 Do you have a video on what would be your ultimate white scar army then?
Im seeing loads of ebay posts with the 4.0 miniatures delivered within 24hours and at decent prices. Im so tempted but iv sort of told myself to wait till my 4.0 arrives to see which of the 2 armies i wanna collect based on the minis. I have a feeling ( based on experience) that ill be buying another copy of skaventide though.
@@cloraformsgood5340 I’m so tempted to buy a second copy.
ya the launch has not gone nearly as good as GW expected. they have been shipping out skaventide already, and many stores will have it already, or by friday. GW is also calling every retailer, trying to get them to buy more. i suspect they massively over-produced skaventide, just like dominion, and fully expect the set to be available for years to come, at a nice discount! i picked up 2 myself, but will def get even more in the future if we see another massively discounted offering, when GW sends the extra stock to liquidators (speculation based on dominion, and ash wastes, etc)
@@WarHammerMan It all benefits us. We deserve some good luck considering the support we give gw every week lol. Copies of skaventide are £128 in UK at the moment which is a bargain imo but due to the numerous armies I have still hardly painted or still on sprue I'm trying to limit myself to miniatures that I really like which is why I'm waiting to see how much I like the new minis. I have a strong suspicion I'm fooling myself lol
@@DojoPaints They are a bargain when compared to the kits sold separately but I'm really hoping to get a large part of my massive Slaanesh, soulblight and s2d armies painted this year. Adding a skaven horde army and/or another armoured infantry force to the list will mean time taken away from the others. 1st world problems am I right lol
Dope video. I used to play fantasy, whe AoS came out it looked to me like models from Visctorias Secret. I was interested again after seeing the models of cities of Sigmar. Now I own Cities, flesh eaters and all of my old armies from Fantasy, ogres, warriors of chaos and lizard men. Bring it!
ya the cities of sigmar range is fire! i always liked FeC but they were a little bland. the addition of Ushuran and the newer stuff, as well as the expanded lore, made it amazing! i cannot wait for the ogres to get a refresh, i love the Gorgers! GW has done a great job over the last few years making Sigmar top notch! i was a bit reluctant for the first couple years, but there is no doubt in my mind anymore, Sigmar is Amazing!
@@WarHammerMan same, I’m going to be running AOS in my local store here in Denver. Super exited to paint and play the new box. 🤜🏼🤛🏻 keep up the cool videos.
@@DojoPaints very nice, always enjoy hearing where people are from, and what kind of local stuff is going on. we are all super excited for the new AOS escalation league. i'm def doing some painting videos for skaventide, but i'm going to use Kruleboyz, to keep a nice mix of armies (skaven and stormcast are already very popular)
@@WarHammerMan by the way, I’m originally from Cancun Mexico. I started playing first edition 40K in High school (Minnesota) in 1989, loyal servant of the one true Emperor 😆 Cheers 🍻
Man reads webpage. Revolutionary!
ya sort of like, man reads book, or man reads news... almost like with 5 million views there is a market for this type of thing. but you're just an NPC, so who cares what you think. lmfao
@@WarHammerManThe thing is though that when gw releases stuff you're channel is quick and genuine. Also for some parts of gws releases you are the only one giving the actual information. For instance when abraxia was due for release there was zero information on the price for the UK right up until the day it dropped. Trust me I was scouring the net every day , a few days after you gave the price in US burger bucks I started seeing the usual US posts giving the US price but that's useless for UK as the prices aren't translated between US/ UK where gw is concerned ( US gets the special gw f u tax ) Those occasions where you read the webpage for us means I don't have to and we get a reliable genuine perspective.
@@WarHammerManman gets salty. Unbecoming!
Are you still the same dude? Your voice is like an octave higher in this video.
lol yes same dude. not sure if its just the mic angle, or if you're used to me being horse from going to a 40k tournament every weekend. but its me haha
They need space marines in there
in the lore, there are space marines in necromunda. mostly imperial fists, but its pretty cool. an actual space marine in necromunda would be god level, similar to what we picture, as the inhabitants of necromunda are very resource starved!
I thought forge world didn’t exist anymore?
it got rolled into GW, but they still sell the "forgeworld resin" under the Games workshop name.
Imagine justifying paying around £36 for a box of 10 special dice! The problem is the price but I do love Necromunda, 3d printer go brrrrrrr
Time for GW to offer the solution to our problems.
ya they have completely lost touch with the customers/fans. they need to actually listen, instead they just block any feedback, thats not 100% praise
prices its a big deal yes but there 2 to 3 month be for new stuff come's. plus secundus being a dnd best thing to for nceomunda such as name character's you have pride in only to see them lost in secundus never to be seeing ageing
People should go play necro95. 1box for a gang is plenty for that.
Never heard of& cant find...link?
@@janviggoneubergjohansen The original Necromunda from 1995.
@@supermarx yeah i got it just before i read your exlpanation ..høh.... ill check it out.
It kind of looks like a striking scorpion and a Primaris Inceptor had a child
The biggest problem with Necromunda is that it takes about $300 worth of Rulebooks to play.
This is why I have a few gangs but have never played lol
You just need the rulebook and the "House of.." of you gang of choice. I keep reading you need so many books, and it´s not true unless you want to play every gang and every campaign in the game. But that is also true for 40k, AoS or any other GW game.
The necromunder miniatures are so nice. I haven't played necromunder since the very first edition probably 20+ years ago. But i have bought a few newer necromunder minis that id love to use in 40k.
I didn’t care for Necromunda until I seen the guys at the store playing a campaign and it looks super fun. But the prices are crazy even for gw. If they’d make a $50 starter they’d see a lot more ppl playing it I’m sure.
ya the game is a ton of fun, and the campaign is the real appeal. but i agree. you cant even buy a single gang box, and start playing. now you need a few boxes, some books, cards, its like $200-300 to start... you can get a 40k or sigmar army from the starter sets for that price. its no longer a cheap skirmish game. its just a small model count, expensive niche game. which kills the appeal for new players, unless you have a vibrant community of necromunda players
@@WarHammerMan To play the game you just need 2 boxes and your "House of..." book. If you want to go complete, maybe a brute/hanger on. Cards are totally optional. And from that price you don´t get a 40k/AoS army, but just a fraction of it. Necromunda has a lot of books and options, that´s true. But they are not needed to play. It´s like saying to be able to play D&D you need every book published with every monter, campaign, and expansion.
a lot of models should have cross play but teams and managment say keep in lane
Yes definitely. 40k should follow AOS where all the small fantasy games figures can be used in the main AOS game. It makes your armies look more distinctive.
Most of the units in Necromunda are criminals and/or trash mobs. Fluff wise I don't see any roll in big 40K for them.
For a limited time. Then POOF gone.
I don’t know how popular the stormcast actually are. How many of the kits sell outside of the starter sets? Is it just surveys asking what factions people own and everyone ticks the stormcast box because they’ve got some kicking around?
I've moved to 3d printing. Woke activists and prices raising faster than current day inflation pushed me out.
What’s his other channel called?
Tabletop Bros
see you there! cheers
Kinda glad I want too get into sigmar but don't have the money atm so this give me some time if there gonna be floating around for a while.
Brother don’t forget what they did to the imperial Guard. New codex for 2 months. That was Some serious BS!!!!!!
ya world eaters and guard got done really dirty by GW
@@WarHammerMan lol, Votann werent even allowed to play
Kruleboyz for sure. They're my Boyz. I hope the mirebrute still slaps.
Bonks*
haha my man! he better still slap/bonk. just finishing up some extra detail work on my 3 haha
I get the sense age of Sigmar isn’t that popular. Most of us fantasy players want old world.
sigmar is fairly popular, but its no 40k. i'm not sure what your group looks like, i know there are pockets of people who still like Old World. but literally nobody in our area has any interest at all. i've heard that a lot. i think is a much smaller amount of people, mostly who are collecting and painting, and far less actually playing. but i'm curious how big your community is?
Generals handbook is in the skaventide box though, it's just in card form instead of an actual book. Unless you just want the nicer book, there is 0 reason to buy it if you get skaventide
ya i'm not sure, is it everything? the previous generals handbook had the full rules book, as well as the season special rules, etc. is that all included in skaventide? i dont think i've seen a decisive article, review, or anything that says 100% you dont need the generals handbook if you buy skaventide.
Never buy anything written buy GW
I lack the necessary funds to buy GW...maybe I was born too poor :(
bought the pre-order...cancelled the next day...didnt realize the entire mini count was push-fit....yuck
so you saw the models, thought they looked good, and you bought them... then found out that you dont need glue, to assemble them, and that was a deal breaker? i've heard people complain about lack of options with ETB stuff, but never heard someone complain about it being push fit, or not requiring glue.
If I wanted push fit I’d buy kinder eggs
The new GHB is included in skaventide box. It in sleeve format not spiral. @warhammerman
so i thought there was a causal mention of it, but cant seem to find detailed info on it being included. where did you see/read this. cheers
I found price for Skaven Tide for Poland and it is very good. Literally is as cheap as printed models, not to mention plastic is a better material than a resin print. It is 13 pln for a model! Not to mention many models are bigger than footman like cavalry or war machines. And the set has some terrains and rulebook. So, I have two questions: do GW is cross-financing it by selling other models with higher prices or could GW sell models cheap, like 1 pound sterling ( about 5pln) for a ordinary infantryman model?
yes its a great box/deal. GW def sells you a large box of models for a good price, and then charges way more for a few additional models to complete/optimize your army. often times a single character can be almost the price of an entire kit. or a single vehicle/monster, can cost as much as an entire army box!
@@WarHammerMan Not only Titans.
Deserving
Limited to 5? Over here in EU it is limited to 10 per. Since the Tokens are limited to about 23000 they did sell less than that on their own webstore. In case you are willing to pay +60€ for the tokens, you still can. But then scouting ebay for the 'old' tokens might be viable, too and cheaper.
So this is the replacement of Warcry?
no warcry is a skirmish game, with completely different rules. it is similar to kill team for 40k. spearhead is basically 500 pt warhammer age of sigmar, the equivalence to Combat Patrol in 40k.
July first 8:27 pm and i Could order 10 boxes if i wanted ...
Honestly, this is why I’ve dropped 40k and won’t bother with age of sigmar, I’m tired of the expensive bullshit and then the fomo they do all the time. But great vid, puts the words i think into voice
Any idea on UK or EU prices?
It's a brilliant set, but they can't expect people to drop £120 / £150 on a set mid summer, should have released this set near Christmas
After 25 years, I've gone from Codex simp to Captain Balck beard.
no price on the special edition rule book? Was the only thing I am considering
It's almost time to eat cheese and cackle
General handbook comes in card format inside of Skaventide btw, so if you have the box you don't need to book
I was wondering about that.
Iv just bought 2 packs of GW dice for £6 each, they have 20 dice with a skull on the 1 and a plastic container. They will do me perfectly, not paying for the faction dice.
ya i've found some amazing deals on their dice, after they sit on shelves for months, with no interest. they are cool, but way too pricey at this point. not to mention a lot of the other brand competitors, have raised their prices as well, and basically just selling knockoffs for the same price. these dice people have lost their minds!
Dont buy the faction cards. Use the free PDF. My fault was buying those datacards on leviathan release and few weeks after the cards was worthless garbage.
thanks for sharing, obviously i agree with you, since its exactly what i said in the video. once they released the roadmap, i bought a couple sets, like deathwatch, knowing it will be years before they get a codex, etc. i know people who bought the Space marine and tyranid index cards, only to have them be trash a few weeks later. it sucks
I wonder if they will ever a 40k CP battlemat or terrain like that F&Jade
i dont think they will. the starter set basically has all the Combat Patrol stuff, including two CPs. it also takes a lot more terrain for CP, than for spearhead. not to mention, because there is terrain in skaventide, i think GW wanted to try and double dip with a spearhead set. but we all know these sets will be parted out, and the spearhead stuff will be available for dirt cheap.
Picking up General’s Handbook
ya, people that skip the mission deck, and generals handbook are always scrambling to get them, and overpaying a month or two after release, and they cant be found. not me, i'm locking it down Now!
@@WarHammerMan let’s start right from the beginning. A new dawn! Are you playing Skavens or Stormys?
Those dice are soooooo expensive!
ya GW has raised the price, and cut the quantity on dice. i've picked up a few of the older sets, for like half the price.
Yeah it's very upsetting because I would love some special faction dice but they are madly priced
Just buy regular dice and paint them up
@@kildotgaming 3D print
Good tactical move.
ya i'm glad to see GW using what worked for 40k to effect with AoS. the best improvements they have made over the last few years are adapting the rules, and releases for the two games, based on what works. other things like killteam and warcry have not worked nearly as well.
this is a horrible game. roll a die, move randomly and engage a random encounter, and then sit for ages doing nothing until it is your turn again. Repeat for at least 5 hours until someone finally wins. Sure, nostalgia can be fun and if that is what you seek this will provide lots of it, but let's be honest no way the game design is elegant or gameplay smooth. It is an outdated slog from the years before yesteryear...
ya its clear GW is just taking advantage of nostalgia when they do stuff like this. same with WHFB... anyone that played the game, or objectively looks at those old models, knows its trash.
Cool don't play then .
It might be cool to see an update video on the pre-order status of Skaventide in about a week. As of Monday morning, you can still pre-order the launch box and signed copy of the book in the US.
ya, i'll def touch on it, if i dont do a specific video. GW has made more of these than dominion, and while i do see more popularity/excitement this time, its going to have the same issue. only this time FLGs got smart, and placed conservative orders. so some time this week, all the GW reps will be calling stores offering up more Skaventide, trying to dump the stock on them again. i suspect a second wave will go out, as its been fairly popular. but it looks like we are going to see GW secretly dumping the extras to liquidators, just like we saw with necromunda ash wastes. i fully expect to see these on amazon in a few months, for substantially less than retail MSRP.
@@WarHammerMan If I see them at a liquidator, I would definitely pick one up then. Thanks for continuing to put out interesting videos. Great work!
It’s weird that they don’t seem to be including the Spearhead book in the box set, nor do they appear to be offering it as a separate purchase. You’re probably right that the Spearhead components from Skaventide will be showing up on eBay after release but you’d think that the book would be available someplace other than in the Skaventide box.
i think because they are releasing it for free as a digital download, they didnt want to manufacture extras to sell. they have made a ton of the skaventide boxes, so i dont think it would sell that well, as most people will buy skaventide, buy the parted out components, or just get it free. its actually a good move by GW from a business standpoint IMO
