    Hi, great video. I was wondering if it's possible to combine this head unit with the 10-inch android navigation screen that sits on the dash. How would the two systems interract? I was thinking that would modernise the interior quite a bit

  • @techwithadilmc
    @techwithadilmc16 күн бұрын

    From what I know they are two different systems. If you want to put in an aftermarket head unit such as what I did. It would render the nav screen on the dash useless. That is unless you can find a custom head unit like mine with the added dash nav screen. There might be some on ebay. Hope that helps.

    Hey I just picked up a csx and wanna k24a2 swap it in the next year or so. What ECU and harness are you using?just wanna make sure I’ve got it right haha. you said in the video that it’s was a 8th gen SI ECU tuned with Hondata. Is it a 8th gen SI harness or can you use the factory harness? Anyway super clean car!

    Have you considered going to the junk yard to buy trim pieces from another ct200h so you can install tweeters in the A pillar? There are also speakers on the C pillar too from CT 200hs with the premium sound package. I want to find a CT 200h white exterior and tan interior without a sunroof. That way it will look better with a Starlight LED headliner to imitate stars shimmering at night.

  • @techwithadilmc
    @techwithadilmc3 ай бұрын

    I noticed the overall quality of the sound improved. By that I mean I heard more instruments than before. It won't necessarily be louder since the driving force is the same, but the quality of your sound improves. In my other video, once I replaced the driving force aka the head unit the sound completely changed. Thanks for watching!

  • @techwithadilmc

    Some mechanic said it’s a head gasket problem… how can you tell the difference?

  • @techwithadilmc
    @techwithadilmc5 ай бұрын

    Remove your spark plugs and use a mechanic's camera to see if the top of your piston is cleaner than normal or if you seem to be loosing coolant overtime. For me personally, I didn't see those symptoms and the dealership told me that replacing the intake manifold would fix the issue. I decided to just look into the issue and it seems by cleaning the intake manifold, I resolve the issue. But I'd likely have to do it after 100k kms every time. Hope that helps.

  • @tylertran93nsx
    @tylertran93nsx5 ай бұрын

    @@techwithadilmc I have a friend with a 2013 Lexus CT200h and she’s having a shaking at times and the mechanic told her she needs a head gasket for $4500, but she’s not losing coolant, just burning oil... it’s around 100k miles.

  • @techwithadilmc
    @techwithadilmc5 ай бұрын

    @@tylertran93nsx That gen CT from my previous research had oil burning issues. I am unsure if the head gasket can cause this but I suspect it could be piston rings? I would go to a different mechanic and get a second opinion. I hope that helps.

  • @techwithadilmc
    @techwithadilmc5 ай бұрын

    Yea thankfully it's not a hard job at all. The PCV valve is more of a might as well change it since it's open type of deal. Haven't heard of it going bad too often but I could be wrong. Hope it goes well.

  • @zigzagrz
    @zigzagrz6 ай бұрын

    Had a similar issue but I ended up cleaning the EGR, the egr cooler, intake manifold (also had oil in it) and replacing the pcv. Took me two cause I kept dropping parts in the engine bay as I was removing them 😅

  • @techwithadilmc
    @techwithadilmc6 ай бұрын

    Glad it worked out though. Kind of an annoying issue but not hard at all to do ourselves. I dropped stuff in the bay too, just skipped those parts. 😂

  • @1HeatWalk
    @1HeatWalk3 ай бұрын

    You had oil in it. More reason to install an Oil Catch Can (OCC) between the PCV and Intake Manifold to empty the oil caught in each engine oil change cycle. That way they won't get clogged up again so easily. I will have to remove the OCC every time I go get the car smoged every 2 years here in the USA once I buy a CT200h.

    @@IlyasKhan-wz8je I don't think cleaning the exhaust will do you much good. If multiple mechanics are saying the same thing, you might have a blown head gasket. If doing what I did has not fixed your problem, you may have to look into other potential issues.

    We’re you using a torque wrench for re assembling the intake and EGR or was that just a straight ratchet?

  • @techwithadilmc

    I did not use a torque wrench to tighten those bolts down as it doesn't require much torque. I go by feel and feel comfortable with it but I can understand if you'd like to use a torque wrench. In all honesty, it's good practice but you need to invest in it.

    When I replaced the speakers in my ‘99 Camry, I used a Dremel and cutting blade to remove most of the factory speaker to make a mounting ring for the new speakers so that I could utilize the factory holes/bolts in the rear deck and the front doors. Worked great! All 4 factory speakers were dry rotted. I also installed a JVC head unit. Big improvement over the factory system.
