I - David of David's Tutorials - am a teacher at heart. I am also what some of my kinder commenters refer to as an "old guy." I hope we all get here some day, but what being an old guy means is highly experienced in several areas. It also means I have made a LOT of mistakes.
The main purpose of the David's Tutorials KZread channel is to share with you - most of the world - my experiences, to help you learn more quickly some of what *I* have learned, usually the hard way, and to help you avoid making some of the same mistakes I have made.
As a classroom teacher, the largest class I have taught has been to about 220 people, more often in the range of 35 down to maybe 12 people. While this face-to-face teaching is a wonderful way to do it, enabling us teachers to personalize it for the learners, it is also very restricted to how many people you can put into a class. KZread helps me remove those restrictions, and reach, quite literally, MILLIONS of people.
That's why I KZread.

Can I change the playlist title or do I have to create a new one?
Great, well made tutorial! Regards from Sweden
Very useful tips
I think he is Joe biden's younger brother. Who agrees with me?😅

Hi new to your channel I'm 66 years young and It has been years since I had to write an resume and I had been working one job for over 20 yrs now I ready to work from home but it's not that easy what would recommend for an quick thinking senior?
As a relatively "quick thinking" senior myself, with 11 years on you 😄😄😄, I would recommend something you can do from home! I build websites and make KZread videos, but there are plenty of things you can do. It all depends on where your interests lie. I'd recommend doing a LOT of research, and keep in mind (a) what you LIKE; (b) what you think you can learn; (c) What you'll be willing to do so well people will pay you for it; and (d) which of those things has a relatively high demand? Then dig in, find a mentor or three, and sink your teeth into it. Good luck!
Easiest way is to use a bagging mower
Thanks for the comment, James, and I do mow-mulch for the first couple months of leaf season; but then the leaves come down so fast it's time to get out the rakes. I've tried the tarp thing, the mower-bagger thing, the riding-mower thing, the blower thing, and the blower-vacuum-mulcher thing, *_and they are all quite a bit more work than this._* I am now hoping to work around to doing mulching/composting, which I plan to enhance with biochar and maybe even vermiculture. (If those two concepts are new to you, they are definitely worth checking out for any serious composter.)
where is delete key???
On your keyboard. It's labeled "Del" or "Delete."
Thank you, I’ gonna try it now!
I never knew how well this worked until I had to pull out the hose the next time I needed it.
Thanks for this vid, it's reassuring to see that I do not need to buy an expensive plane and a rasp/rasp-file might be sufficient. p.s. the diagonal crack visible running from the top-right of the door-frame caught my eye. I understand that can point to building movement or settlement.
Yeah, this area of the country has something called "Yazoo Clay" under most of the land here - it swells and contracts with the moisture in the ground. Plays havoc with homes and even some foundations.
Thanks brother.
Happy to help! Take care.
Certainly 1 way to do it. My method is more low tech. Lay opened, empty bag on ground facing leaf pile. Standing at opening, facing pile, reach between legs and lift top edge of bag, and step back onto bottom edge of opening with feet close to each side. Holding top edge up with 1 and use other to rake or scoop leaves into bag. When bag fills too much, close it with small opening, and sit on it to squish them down. Repeat process till filled. Fasted method I know!
My son-in-law did it that way when he had a lawn service business many years ago. He called it the "dog-paddle" method. I've tried the tarp thing, the mower-bagger thing, the riding-mower thing, the blower thing, and the blower-vacuum-mulcher thing, *_and they are all quite a bit more work than this._* Take care.
Two rakes is what I'm going to try. I do the tarp thing because I have banks around my woodsy property where I can empty the tarp of leaves.
Thanks for the comment, Elizabeth. I've tried the tarp thing, the mower-bagger thing, the riding-mower thing, the blower thing, and the blower-vacuum-mulcher thing, *_and they are all quite a bit more work than this._* At least for me. Take care.
Thanks 👏🏽 great video.
So glad it helped! Take care.
Great carrot salad I like the pineapple in the salad.
Yes! It's truly yummy. I've also added mini-marshmallows, but then it's better only for young kids!
get a leaf collector much easier
Thanks for the comment, ncbiz. I've tried the tarp thing, the mower-bagger thing, the riding-mower thing, the blower thing, and the blower-vacuum-mulcher thing, *_and they are all quite a bit more work than this._* But different strokes for different folks, right? Take care.
Is this the same as document sanitizating? I have an internship assignment to sanitize a word document and I need pointers to go about it
No. It is not document sanitizing - that involves removing all meta-data in the document. There are tools in many versions of Word to do this.
still to much work just get a mower with the huge leaf bag
Thanks for the comment, Mike. and I do mow-mulch for the first couple months of leaf season; but then the leaves come down so fast it's time to get out the rakes. Compostable plastic bags (found them after I made this video) are made from corn starch: amzn.to/2FGjVC3 (for backyard composting) or amzn.to/2DNdPgT (for curbsite pickup). Very helpful tip on preventing kinks in a garden hose. I purchased a hose that was supposed to be prevent kinks but it still got kinks...so annoying. I am anxious to try the figure 8 storing method. Question: Does it matter if the hose is inflated with water or not?
I've done this with the hose both empty and water-filled, no difference. How'd this work for you?
David, thank you so much. You really saved my time.
Happy to help! Take care.
Easy fix get an exorcist 😂
OOoooooooooooooo!
Not bad. You can bend the hinge pin, *or*, you can bend the hinge itself- Much easier to unbend the hinge than the pin though.
Sorry, that doesn't make sense. The hinge barrel is much tougher than just the pin, and who would ever want to unbend it?
Yes it does. The same tool that is made to knock out the pin has a notched adjustable wrench side. It's much easier to do to each section of the hinge, and you don't have a forever messed up pin (because you'll never get that straight again). Also. The pin itself stays straight and slides right back into the hinge. Yours is bad advice - watch a video yourself on how to use the proper tool for the job.
@@mcyeti86 Well, thanks for that! I never knew such a tool existed - and I seriously doubt if any of the others viewing this video knew about it, either. I'll have to check it out and see if I can find it. Thanks for sharing. Now on the other hand, I have three hinges on which I have applied this fix more than 20 years ago, and they are all working just fine today. I cannot imagine wanting to pull out and re-straighten the pin, so I guess if it works, then maybe I don't need to run out and buy a specialty tool, eh? Take care.
very helpful. Thank you so much

Hey, Hope all is well
Do I know you?
@DavidsTutorials I dont think so. Just hadn't seen a video in a bit Wishing you well

thank you sir
You're quite welcome!
I haven't had any carrot salad in over 60 years and I am hankering for some! Since you can't invite me over to your house, I shall have to make it myself. Can you suggest another way to cut up the carrots for a person who does not have a food processor or a nice machine like yours? Do you think grating it will make the pieces too small?
Hi, Grandma Jane! I'm not sure about grating it - we might just have to try it and see. Sadly, since making this video, the motor on my Kitchen Center gave up the ghost, so I may have to do that myself next time! Hope yours turns out super yummy!
I want to hire this guy!
Grin! Sure! Just send me two first-class airline tickets to where you are, along with a pre-paid 4-day stay at a nice local hotel, and I'll be right there. 🤣😆
i thought you put in the fridge
No need to refrigerate - that's what's so useful. The butter does NOT turn into a rock.
That hand on the lower back within the first 5 seconds is everything 😂😂😂..I did yard work today and couldn't believe the back pain....
Aww, sorry about the back pain. It never really bothered me, so I'm thankful for that.
Awesome tips, but the soil and trees would be benefited more if you left the leaves on the ground as a natural mulch and food for the soil.

These days I'm glad we have the mower with the grass catcher attachment
Yeah, sometimes we just have to cut our labor-load.
A quick vid pointing to a button anywhere?
Sadly, YT keeps moving things around. Lots of people look for things that aren't there, such as how to alphabetize. No luck. Oh, well.
Quite professional. Very much glad to hear it.

Thanks so much for that feedback, Irene! I appreciate your comment
5 million views on rake and I get 6 views using 50k in equipment 😂😂
Curiously enough, I made this video with a $260 (in 2012) non-4k camera, and processed it on software that cost about $200 (at the time). I've seen KZreadrs with tons more views and all they use is their cell phones! Go figure. So it ain't the equipment - it's the topic and presentation, hmm?
@@DavidsTutorials leaf removal equipment is what I was referring too. Maybe it’s my camera lol. Funny how KZread works
Mine takes 1 stick. If it is not softened simply cut it into pieces...use the wrapper for the butter to cover it and press down until it is flattened. No big deal.
That's sure one way to do it. Thanks!
Don't address folders
They work the same way.
Hello Mr david.i love this video I watched Rambo First Blood and taught myself how to do the maximum with the minimum.all he was a knife and he brought a whole town to it's knees.my grandfather died while I was forcibly institutionalized by my parents.i learned how to survive coz there is no soap when u shit.so we had to make do with toilet paper,to wipe off the xs and wash ourselves with the water from the flushing system.i am the same guy who thanked u for ur eight shaped roll,to roll a 15m hose.and I still respect u.please post more videos of ur survival techniques so that I can survive and be more than I can be.i wanted a ranger.the toughest courseof the military where I was sent to.but did not,,and still don't have the discipline to fight other people's fight.im a addict.i spent ten years experimenting myself with drugs and alcohol.i went to intensive care unit, for severe cases twice but I don't regret.i like your videos.u r a war veteran.amd I would like to know how to start a fire without a lighter.the survival way.sir,I take ur leave now.one day we will meet.and I only have great things to say to you.
Thanks for all that, Sam. There are plenty of survivalist videos here on YT, but first things first - you MUST set your SMART goals, then discipline and govern yourself to take the steps needed to achieve your goals, AND to avoid doing anything at all that might keep you from attaining them.
