    Right on! Borescope images rock! I am one of those victims of oil burning GDI engines. The KIA dealer recently did a piston soak on my engine 65K miles. If it failed on oil consumption, I was supposed to get a new engine. It failed. After 2 months I went back to dealer for an update. KIA wants them to do a 2nd piston soak...I was upset because they didn't notify me of the message from KIA from April 26. I am taking it in on Monday for the 2nd. I looked again at the KIA TSB 222 for the treatment and want this to clean up those piston rings ..Not sure how good their cleaner is.. I want to keep the engine if it fixes the oil problem. I might get a problem with an engine swap. I get good MPG on this one

    I love you and don’t even know you!!!! I love to see you into these Toyotas, that you have the want to keep them going. I have a small collection of my own. 1985 Toy pick up DLX we have had since new, 1986 4runner DLX, 1997 T100 since 1 yr old, 1998 Taco since new, 2000 Avalon, 2004 Avalon since new, 2011 Camry since new and 2021 Tacoma since new, lol. I like yours more. The Brown SR5 is a great find. I am looking for one like the White one if you ever want to get rid of it. Keep your progress going. I am currently doing rust cut out rebuilding new metal parts and welding on the 1985 PU truck. Then need to do the same on the 4 runner fenders front and rear. Keep it up and keep it going!!!! You are awesome!!!!

    Do you know why some throttle body have 4 vac line and some have 3 like yours

  • @natalied989
    @natalied9892 ай бұрын

    I don't. The only thing I can think of is that mine (the earlier style) has an externally mounted IACV that has its own vac line going from inside the bore of the TB on the front side of the throttle plate to the IACV then to the Intake plenum. The later 1st gen models 88/89 have an IACV that is integral to the TB housing and don't have the vac line I have. So maybe that 4th one on top on the later style TB has something to do with the different style IACV? If yours has the 4th one I'd say trace it back and see what else it hooks to. I'd be interested to find out. I can ask around. I have a couple really knowledgeable friends.

    I don't have faith that dash paint job is going to survive the test of time. Plastic just hates paint. I think i burned my retnas just getting a glance at it as well. I feel that red would be a tough one.

  • @natalied989
    @natalied9892 ай бұрын

    It's horrible. But it's probably been there for years. They actually did a really great job with the application. I question the decision making though. I'd love to bring it back to beige but they put in oem red carpet., seats and all the plastic trim so it'd be really hard to find all that stuff and get it back to original. I was thinking of rubbing some brown dye on it to bring it down to maroon maybe but either way I hate red. So maroon ain't much better.

    It was actually a gift. A buddy of mine retired from the local Toyota dealer in December. He was a mechanic there for 40 plus years. He said no one after him will ever work on cars like mine so they won't need it. I sure have gotten a lot of use out of it though. You can find them on Ebay but they're expensive. Like 150 to 300 bucks. Yotatech and 4crawler have some threads with links to online pdfs of various years you can print but they are hit or miss. Some of the years have dead links but sometimes people update them. If you look hard enough you can usually find a good one though.

  • @natalied989

    You're welcome. After I did the video I thought about it and I probably will still do the sea foam in the future since it's a spray it can probably hit components like valves and stuff that the AC delco liquid can't get to. The way I used the AC liquid(which is not the way it's intended to be used) only cleans what it comes in direct contact with. And it's a little more labor intensive so the Sea foam is *maybe* still a good option for those who just want to spray and forget and not do the extra steps the AC requires. But I personally was not impressed with the Sea Foam on its own.
