    1:25:35 actually its just a reskin of a guy from 39:09 with only 1.5 changes - 1 new throwing attack and one of the moves leaving disruption clouds

  • @TimsGamesDoneHard
    @TimsGamesDoneHard5 ай бұрын

    True, but with the new moves added in his fight feels very different than his previous version, and he also has that coughing disruption cloud. But if that's not enough, there's a completely unique miniboss at 1:09:26 just before Lax. I just feel like it's an underrated aspect of this game, even if it reuses models, it changes it up to make it appropriate for the area, and isn't afraid to have enemies unique to just one area if they match the aesthetic (for example disruption spider ladies in the opera house)

    @@TimsGamesDoneHard well, i dont feel that way, because... well, thats a complicated topic first, i hate soulslikes without ranged combat, and i played LoP right after LOTF2 (funny that they didnt include "2" in the name, but it is still in LOTF2.exe), i did not expect LoP to be any good (coz for me it was like "oh man, another filthy melee combat like in sekiro, lets get this over with and forget"), but... i was actually surprised about how good combat actually feels, its way better than in LOTF2 (in which i dont even know where to start, its just everything, starting with scuffed ranged combat controls and going up to the point where all ranged weapon feels exactly the same with just different animation). and everything in LoP (except for graphics, its insanely good in LOTF2) felt way better, until the very moment u mentioned - king of puppets. i played AFTER the patches that made andreus' and king's hp tuned down, but this was still the exact moment the impression started crumbling, and this wasnt about hp at all, it was coz of multiple reasons: 1. they started reusing bosses and enemies. swamp monster is just another scrapped watchman, corrupted parade master is just... well, parade master x) and also the second fight against rabbits. and also regular enemies, there were "citizen puppets" again, carcasses again, everything just went full circle 2. even after patches, king was the last challenge to face, after him bosses became some kind of a joke, they were no more "sekiro-styled" bosses, parrying had gotten obsolete. i mean, i died to laxasia like 10 times, and then i got her the very first try i stopped trying to parry and just tried to go "full-souls", just dodged everything. and then i got manus and nameless puppet on actual first try following the same logic, didnt even try to parry, just dodged from the start and it paid off. 3. leveling here is "just to be". even before alchemist island i reached the point when i got nothing to level up, technique was giving me 1 attack and hp was giving like... 4? i dont remember exact number but it was literally nothing. and also there is no place for builds, its all the same, u just level up everything until it stops giving any boost, and u dont have to grind for this, just exploring every nook once leads u to almost the hard cap of levelling 4. this all looked even worse when i realised that i ate all my boss souls and thus missed an opportunity to boost my damage by insane 35-38% (depending on how it is calculated), with the help of amulets "arm of god" and "extreme modification", the game had already gotten too easy without them. so, taking everything into consideration, i just felt like last location is just an enemy spam, there a tons of them, and u've seen them all already, and everything makes no sense, its too easy, its just quantity over quality, and leveling soft cap on top gave me the feeling that im just not progressing anywhere, like i was just grinding for nothing, i wanted just to end this faster. so, i cant see me replaying LoP unless the whole genre dies and i will have nothing left to play. BUT still, i definitely rate LoP #2 in my personal game rating of 2023 (#1 is talos principle 2). p.s. have you played Wo Long Fallen Dynasty? i got to the first boss and took a break there, havent much time to play lately, but keeping in mind that Nioh devs made it, im concerned, if it could be the real GOTY for me

    Since we talked about DS3 a lot in the comments I'm curious what's your least favorite enemy in dark souls 3 mine would have to be the evangelists they always get me with those darn spiked clubs of theirs I'm really bad at fighting them oh and also that one purple swamp monster that literally jumps on your head and tries to rip it off man that thing is annoying

  • @TimsGamesDoneHard

    There's a theory out there that says that maybe all the game revolves around the brain, being the artists' town the creative part and the capital the logical part, some areas of the game just feel like they're just concepts of the mind, and Eldar maybe represents something that came to the mind by external forces and it represents the idea of being perfect and stop being emotional to be purely logical, and the story of the game it's about being opposite to this idea, and the hidden realms may be in fact the unconscious, and obviously the fear, some of the areas of the hidden realms also feel like they're based out of fears, like aging or wasting time(clock tower), the fear of rejection(Maybe the three tests represent this), and the masquerade could represent something like acceptance too idk, anyway i think the major fear is the fear of change, something that u said actually, and by defeating Tormenta the mind accepts the change
