for the ones who say that barrel horses will act like this. NO! some may but they are going to hop/rear INTO the arena not out of it. this horse is clearly burned out. that poor horse just wanted to stay out of the arena, and they wouldn't let it. listen to your horse. they clearly were ignoring him.

My horse is 3 years old, and she will crow hop whenever I do barrels. My trainer said maybe she just to young and that she needs to start barrels at the age 5. But Fallon Taylor Starts her horses at age 4, and my horse is an American quarter horse. So, I figured I can start barrels when my baby is 4.

Novice or not, there is NO excuse to YANKING horses in the mouth. Especially the girl that fell off twice on TWO different horses. She was jerking the heck out of those horses. That goes to show that it's the rider's fault 100%. And that attempt at an emergency dismount was probably the dumbest and stupidest choice

How about teaching empathy and humane treatment of horses to these kids, and not just promote winning at all cost? Wouldn't that be a much more important life lesson to teach our youth? Considering how the horse feels should be a big part of participating in any equine-related sport. They're not robots. They are living, breathing, feeling creatures that deserve the very best care, treatment, and respect that we can offer them, not treat them like unfeeling machines and making them do things they clearly do not want to do. No ribbon, trophy, buckle, saddle, or prize money means diddly to a horse. When asking them to do what makes us happy - and sometimes rich, nothing -- NOTHING matters more than being a partner to your horse, not just a pilot. Empathy is the key to being a decent human being, so teach that above all else. (I've owned almost 1000 horses, am a rodeo champion, show horse national champion, etc. etc.)

Someone get this kid off the horse. She doesn’t need to be there to begin with. Obviously, the horse does not want to run, and the fact that it is even rearing and the adults in the arena are still trying to force it to run with a child on it is ridiculous . These grown people should have more sense than that. Way too dangerous, they’ll realize their irresponsibility when someone gets killed or badly injured.
