Van Winden's Garden Center
Van Winden's Garden Center was started in 1953 by Peter Van Winden and his family in Napa, California. We're still family-owned and operated and we now have 70 years of "quality and selection" to look back on!

Love this video. Question. I'm in Central Valley ( Turlock) and would like to grow potatoes. It's in the 100's temp wise out here. Should I hold off till it gets cooler? Or can I grow them now?
This was very informative, what type, where to place them in the soil top or bottom, thank you.
Explain in detail the ice over peony trick please.
I have a new gardening channel now. I am loving this. You girls make a good team.
What mulch do you like best? I have to buy a bunch, I really like a natural look.
All of the workers here are so friendly and helpful!
Always great to get a hot summer z9 perspective! I grow in z9b here in Texas, and the learning curve for sun exposure and time of year is interesting considering I used to garden in zones 4, 6, and 7. Last summer, even my cosmos and zinnias were burning frying!
Can you tell me how much ice, how often and for how long you add ice around the roots. Like add 2 cups of ice every night from December - February etc. I’m sure it’s not exact but just a general plan. I know a good size plant is an investment so I just want to know if I can manage it first.
This was great. Exactly the info I needed. Thank you both.
I just started following. Thank you so much Janey for helping her get started.
well… i planted bare roots… and got flowers that same year!
I have a peony that is 35 years old.
Going to try potatoes again. New potatoes are so delish.
How much of the "Magic Mix" per established plant?
One heaping cup per rose bush.
Many Thanks!@@vanwindensgardencenter
