I'm still shocked Chris didn't touch on the wood species of the tinker toy risers. Everyone knows you need a species emitting a low hydrocarbon footprint (i.e. spruce or white oak) thereby achieving the best fidelity, warmth and impactful sound stage. Top tip, hanging any >$2500 cable suspended by the tinker toy cable trough from the ceiling gives improved headroom rendering superb imaging to overall listening experience.

you should review the hd6xx (or hd650 if you want better qc but for a higher price) EQed to harman 2018 (say, using oratory's EQ) and let us know what you think of it. I believe you are going to have your new pair of reference headphones

So I use Sonos but the recent software/app updates pretty much nixed my system with having a few gen 2 connects. I also have Heos. The recent software update for me worked pretty well. Integrating all my gen 1 legacy speakers and works with pretty well. So leaning more towards Denon Heos with the recent Sonos debacle.

Dear friend, each time I see a new product review that comes out at about the same time, the little hamster in my head says : wo, there is something fishy here. I remember too well the publicity blitz about a reserve model from polk. I am talking about the LAiV Harmony Dac (2700$ US) which is reviewed on about the same date by at least 10 known reviewers, including mista Darko, and mista Huff and Puff, and so on. They all say the same thing, that it is the best thing since sliced bread, and rivals with 10,000 dollars DACs. Quite fishy. Not forgetting what OCD Mickey said about the marketing pressure he faced from Denafrips. Do you think that after such positive reviews, reviewers can keep the unit for free ? And that a certain mista Wang is behind this ? Moreover, I see on the back of the unit : assembled in Tsina. So what do you think ?

There are some cheaper products I’m sent and am allowed to keep. In those videos I have “paid promotion “ on the video and I often verbally tell viewers as well. There are a few companies that won’t send me any more products because of a negative review I gave. So, yes, if a reviewer loves a questionable product I’d say they are concerned about getting more products to review.

Thanks for this video. Headphones are definitely subjective. I confess that I am a Sonos fan. Maybe I don't drink the kool-aid, but I definitely like the sound. I got these headphones knowing the lacking Wi-Fi streaming capabilities. Still, they are cheaper than the airpods. They are much lighter. 😊 And at least for me, they fit well.

I'm not an audiophool, by no means. I wanted a review on verums because as a average consumer looking to replace my aging HD559s, the Verums seem cool. I have poor vision so audio quality in games and songs is important to make up for the deficiency, but I'm not into buying tons of equipment because the music I listen to is primarily metal, so for me if they can make "Tornado of souls" by Megadeth sound better than my HD559s, its worth it. Had to sub, this review/takedown was juicy. I think I'll buy the verums what is EQ?

Your wine recommendation is quite a mouthful. I’m a relatively new subscriber and you have me chuckling a few times. I enjoy your commentary. This seems like a nice device. I’m not a real headphone guy. I look at my multiple 2 channel systems and then my headphones and I wonder why would I want to use them. I realize I’m lucky to have a home that I can play the music with decent volume.

I will stick with my Burson Conductor 3xp and my old modded Musical Fidelity X-can amp when I want a bit of retro goodness, but this looks like a great product, and I like the aesthetic. SA knocks out another great review, but I find the video and pic clips distracting and juvenile. They need to stop and I shall be writing a terse letter to the Times of London to that effect. More Helmholtz, fewer clips.

Bravo! No, not your review, just this morning before your video appeared, I did some mod work on my Bravo tube headphone amp/preamp. Your video was good too. But not perfect like this little gem now sounds. I listened to decent recordings for many hours and I cannot hear anything wrong with it. Has anyone upgraded from a Bravo Ocean to something else, that is reasonably priced and was a significant upgrade in sound quality? I want to explore beyond perfect. Diane Bish didn't stop at just perfect either. You meet a lot of guys at audio parlors whose sound is perfect, but what the hell, they're looking for an upgrade. It was a nice warm day when A homeless guy wandered into the parlor and took off his winter coat and parka.. There is always a new tag on his shirt. This day it said; 8 years and 121 days since Last Bath. He smelled bad. All the guys with perfect sound, seeing him and his tag, decided to leave. It was an easy decision for them. The audio store owner in a low voice disgusted, said to me " That guy that just walked in could have just cost me over a hundred grand, until they come back in again in a few days".

I always use velvet brush or microfibre cloth soaked with 99% isopropyl alcohol then wipe it with dry microfibre and immediately wash record with soft foam rubber soaked with soap and use mineral water in 5 litre bottles. I wash very gently always trying not to get labels wet. Than I wipe record with terry towel. And record becomes like new - zero dirt, zero fingerprints and zero static. Just need to remember after washing and before storage record must be played at least once. I first tried this method for about 20 years ago and have been using it exclusively since then.

Wondering if you plan on reviewing a Tekton speaker any time soon. I hear they are great upside down with feet screwed in. They also tend to measure perfectly if one wants it too. Ownership is said to be very tolerant of customer service questions. 🦧

I've got the Element II, at the time the only ones offering a similar device was Schiit. Is it actually an uncommon use case to control volume from a single device while toggling between powered speakers and headphones? The gain is still manual on my Element II. It's been needed for my planars. Should I upgrade? Sounds like this thing has digital volume increments unlike the older II. I'm also using a Schiit Loki for EQ because knobs. Can the element do separate EQ between the two outputs? My speakers need no EQ, but my headphones do.

I have the Element 1 and like it a lot. No need to upgrade. JDS has one of the best customer support I've had contact with. Great review. BTW, the Lomo Saltado at Artesano Peruvian Cuisine in Lower Manhattan is the best I've ever tasted. Love Peruvian especially pork belly anticuchos!

I've got the Element II, at the time the only ones offering a similar device was Schiit. Is it actually an uncommon use case to control volume from a single device while toggling between powered speakers and headphones? The gain is still manual on my Element II. It's been needed for my planars. Should I upgrade? Sounds like this thing has digital volume increments unlike the older II. I'm also using a Schiit Loki for EQ because knobs. Can the element do separate EQ between the two outputs? My speakers need no EQ, but my headphones do.
Oh yeah, "ICE", what a great name. There is I.C.E. for Immigration and Customs Enforcement which would thrill all of the illegals in the country (and there are millions) or ICE for internal combustion engine, which would drive the EV fanatics into a frenzy. And then just mentioning ice will get Greta Thunberg and the climate loonies in an uproar because they think all of the Arctic ice has melted. Maybe you should just let JDS do the naming, lol.

I have the Element 1 and like it a lot. No need to upgrade. JDS has one of the best customer support I've had contact with. Great review. BTW, the Lomo Saltado at Artesano Peruvian Cuisine in Lower Manhattan is the best I've ever tasted. Love Peruvian especially pork belly anticuchos!
