The issue is digital to analogue converters, I'm pretty convinced. As guitar signals are analogue, being able to maintain that as purely as possible is the key to getting as authentic 'feel' as possible. As you know, I'm a big advocate of using digital gear at home to create demos and to practice with. If I'm playing live, I will almost always be using a tube amp pushed with some choice pedals. It makes me sound better to my ear and it feels better to me, which in turn makes me play better than if I were to be distracted by the tone. Considering, I picked up my tube amp for a similar price that I'd be picking up a digital amp, I didn't even have to compromise in that respect either so it's a no brainer.
@@BudgetPedalChap that's the other consideration. You look at the new Laney and Blackstar solid state options, they are pro amps at crazy budget prices. Katana has jumped the shark a little now, far too complex.
@@yaguitar if they are true solid state also, they'll probably sound much better too as they are not forcing the signal through the filter of a converter first. Some players still swear by the early solid state amps, I mean look at the jazz chorus.
tubes ;9)
can i record from this to my pc? pls reply
@@deadlyzyrax5940 no sadly (at least you couldn't at the time of recording this)
Nice review, quick and to the point. Got a new subscriber! 😎👍
@@JulioSerrano2015 thank you!
Fun fact: He did not practice with that monstrosity before taking it out on stage for this song.
Please help me,, why my editor can not active?
Does this device support when use together with other padals like Nux mg 30
You can use it with pedals, certainly
So boss'official site has a system requirement of windows 10/11 for boss tone studio.Does it work with windows 8 or 7?
Do you think the tube screamer and nobels would work well with a rat?
The Nux mighty air is better.
I've currently got a Carl Martin ampster. I doesnt interact well with my cabsim pedal and the on-board cabsim is a bit too boomy for me even after using the voice switch. Whats your opinion on this orange in comparisson to the ampster. I need a good clean from the unit and to use as a platform for my drive pedals.
It's not really a clean platform, I'll be honest! Maybe take a look at the stuff by Blackstar?
@@yaguitar Just found out about the Tubesteader MAGNEZIUM, Looks like it would sound great with my Multicab 4.

I do not 😂😂
I have one of these units and really never fails to amaze me . One trick some other users taught me in a group chat was moving the S/R block putting it between the Amp block and IR block .......makes a HUGE diifference . Another cool trick is moving the Effects block to the end of the signal chain and select the Compressor . This will give the amp a very realistic tube amp feel .........Nice demo and enjoy !
not loving the tone thing 🙉 …how do you get the voice to stop on metronome haven’t figured that out yet
Smd stinks For people who like to tinker
They have resprayed the new series. Same pedals different colour. The Flanger is purple. I have found iset to be better quality than some other budget brands. Can't get the Shield fuzz but was sent 2 Wheat Fuzz and free power supply. So many rebranded pedals I have lost track of the brand. But worth the money.
I wish Dan's store made the Precision Pick in this inbetween Jazz iii size, like the Daddario Nylpro Plus/Black Ice or the John Petrucci Jazz iii
I ordered that Tremelo yesterday and found your review today. This is reassuring that I'm at least getting something lol... I got that and an Iset Tunner pedal with 3 free items. A fender hat and two handbags for my wife for 50$ CAD free shipping. To have 5 things for that price these days... Hard to beat.
I have noticed that some of these pedals are called the "octaver". Do you know if these are the same pedals with a different name?
As far as I know, they are the same pedal.
@@yaguitar Thanks. Great video. I just got the one that says "octaver" on it. I got it in a package deal and knew nothing about it. Watching vids about it now.
They are massive fun. I regret selling mine!
between switching patch to next patch?? how's the lag/latency, is it noticeable or its just okey in your opinion??
It was ok, but I also didn't use patches for live, I had it pedal mode, so each button just turned one effect on or off
hi thanks for the content. I have problem with my AIRSTEP KAT. When I plug in to my Katana 50 Mk2 using the original cable, I switch On th amp, switch On the Airsteps, the light letter 'I' is not on. I have check the manual asking to restart the amp, but still doesn't works. I have fully charge the AIRSTEP to green. Please advice, thanks
You just sold me on this lol thanks, you remind a bit of James corden. (Not in a bad way)
I get that a lot!
Nice guitar get some guitar lessons
Probably need them, definitely not as good as I should be as a gigging musician who's been playing for 30 years. In the meantime, how about you learn how not to be a dick and run along?
How about the sustain? Is it good?
I didn't notice it being bad if that helps?
@@yaguitar thank you, i already own this guitar. Everything is perfect 💯, i prefer this than my fender player
Jet makes great guitars but their customer service is sorely lacking, I own 4 jets a 400 a 450 a 700 and a 1000, the js400 I just bought left with a bad neck and I tried reaching out to them but was told they couldn’t help me, luckily I found a replacement neck at reverb for 62 dollars so I’m waiting on it to arrive. Unfortunately I had began modding my guitar with new pickups pots wiring, custom graphics wrapped Wilkinson locking saddles and trem, locking tuners and was going to install a lsr roller nut due to the stock nut being very badly cut on the G string and went to remove the stock nut but someone had used so much glue that tapping it with a wood block and rubber mallet was proving difficult and when it finally popped out 3/4 of thr front side of the nut slot came off with the nut and was so attached that I couldn’t even get it off without it coming off in pieces, I contacted Jet about the issue and was told they couldn’t help as they don’t offer necks separately, I even offered to pay for it but no luck with them, I’m thankful that I found one at reverb to save the guitar. Now my other Jets are amazing guitars at a affordable price and I realiy every company will have the occasional lemon slide through and that’s luck of the draw but Jet needs to offer replacement parts in my honest opinion I’m not bashing them, just saying things how they are
Let's see more of this
Some people have been complaining about the quality of IR's, that they sound muddy in the GX 100. How do you find the IR's from choptones in this unit. Are they fairly clear?
I've not had an issue, but some have complained about them and have had to tweak their eq
Fantastic review as always 👍
I have fed back to them that it is fiddley and they are looking at ways to improve on that in V2.
I actually like warming up with larger picks like the big stubby and then switching to a more traditional Jazz III or Flow style pick for actually playing. I find it helps me tighten up my playing a bit. So, when I go to use something around 1-1.5mm thick, I feel like I'm almost surgically precise with my picking.
Why distortion signal chorus?
i got an ernie ball strap and it dosent even fucking fit into the slots
The strap I'm using on the demo is a standard ernie ball strap.. took a bit of wiggling to get the strap end through, but it did go in
I’ve got an Ernie Ball strap and it fit perfectly. So I bought another for my favourite secondary guitar.
@@brucemillar I'm tempted! Hope you used my discount code lol
Thanks a lot for this review. So this thing also takes pedals well?
Yes it does, works just like an amp would.
Harley Benton sound better. You looked liked you were more comfortable playing the Harley in my opinion.
Ive gone through a few now but its like a breakthrough every time you find a good pick. Currently and for a while now my pick has been the ultex jazz III xl because it sounds and feels great
Thanks best in-depth review I’ve seen.
Can't agree more with you, subscribed!
Is that a Gibson melody maker?
It's a Yamaha Revstar RE20
It s a nice guitar give me the feeling of gibson 335 perfect to play blues in bb king style !
I like that Tele … it’s wrecked!
Haha, custom build and light as anything!
terrible audio man,,,,
Cheers, thanks for stopping by.
Thats a perfect stoner-sludge pedal holy shit!
Awesome stuff, I just got my first wah pedal so this is exciting 😎
is your katana ok?.
Yep, still using it every day and for gigging.
@@yaguitar I was wrong, I thougt you used the speaker output into the amp. Great video mate, greetings from Mexico.
@franciscovalenzuela152 oh yes, when I was using this I used it like a dirt pedal and the katana was fine. I also used it into the FX return, which sounded better.
