I actually like warming up with larger picks like the big stubby and then switching to a more traditional Jazz III or Flow style pick for actually playing. I find it helps me tighten up my playing a bit. So, when I go to use something around 1-1.5mm thick, I feel like I'm almost surgically precise with my picking.

Since that initial return, due to it being "massive!" actually feedback on the XL has been great. Good for people with huge hands!

I wish Dan's store made the Precision Pick in this inbetween Jazz iii size, like the Daddario Nylpro Plus/Black Ice or the John Petrucci Jazz iii

I’ve recently changed from standard 351 tortex .88 and .73 to the Jazz iii XL. Really agree with the sentiment that changing to something completely different can be great for your playing. Great channel as well👍

I have a ton of different picks. I am always trying to find a universal technique that I can use most of them with. You introduced me to Chicken Picks and Swiss Picks, and I also really like Honey Picks and Zen Picks ( although the latter is not cheap). Lately I have discovered Bog Street Picks, and they are really innovative. I don’t think I am nearly done exploring.

Most guitar players don't really think about picks. They kind of settle on one type of pick without trying a lot of them. That's a bad idea. My suggestion is get one or two picks of many, many different types. Different thicknesses, brands, types, materials,. You just may find yourself using a much wider array of picks after doing that for a while. And you would be wise to do so.

Yep. I usually have a flow or two and a few precision minis with me for gigs.

Really good review !! I have some of the yellow Dan's Store tapered picks in 0.99mm on order and good hear good reviews. On paper they seem to be an ideal pick for me being nylon, a little flex and tapered. I'm currently using Acoustik Attak Stealth III picks which are great but are a little on the small side, just need something a tad bigger.
