"Local Plastic Store"? Where does he live? lol
Has anyone used a fine brush to paint on a tool, like an 18v impact wrench
Awesome 👍 Colin, you are great. All the best
Genius! Thankyou Colin!
Good for when i hunt vampires.
wow, anyone who pulls those handles down onto the work piece without clamping or at the absolute very least holding or pinching said piece.....is a real dum dum.....I can't imagine a world that this would be considered safe in my mind.......with that being said, have you ever used any sort of abrasive blasting machine? or phew idno TNT or Dynamite?! there are much more dangerous tools out there. but when used as directed, you should be fine....this tool, I would say, lies in the category of "common sense" but I suppose there are always dum dums out there who will always try their worst! or maybe best? depends on how you look at it. hahah cheers.
Put an old tube sock over the exhaust of the shop vac.
Thank you. Great demo!
Thanks for the video ... had inherited some of this stuff after my father passed away, a lifelong woodworking hobbyist, and I had only ever used it to stop some speakers from vibrating themselves off some corner shelves. I am sure my father used a lot of this on his table lamps and other projects ... nice to know I can use it on some jigs I am making, to stop the wood from moving when cutting with a jigsaw or an old black & decker I own, that has an adapter to turn it into a table saw.
Can’t find anyone selling this in the UK.
7:09 friction. Not pressure.
They are not lifting the magnets
Thank you
Good tips. Thanks. Those lights are something I need.
just what I needed to fine-tune the shadow box for my Dad's military career.
I've used the insulating plumbing for other things. One is for the arms on the patio chairs which are metal. The foam makes them more comfortable and don't get hot or cold. Good idea to use it on the pipe clamps. Thanks for the tip. I also like the I-beam idea.
Which kind of wood are you using?
I really enjoy the narration style on this channel. Professional and adult mindset, with no mindless fluff.
I’ll give this a try. I found it available from a few sources.
I have made your outfeed table made it exactly the way suggested. I was able too get the brackets at Lee Valley. All is good
I would not take it just any place that welds, bandsaw blade places only, they are unique, if done like a normal weld they'll snap again.
I have been looking for an older plane on FB marketplace for a few months now. As a placeholder, I got the $10 plane from Harbor Freight. It was horrible and I could not even get one shaving until I stuck an 80 grit peel and stick sanding sheet on a piece of MDF and ran it over it until it was completely flat. I was finally able to get a see-through shaving!
These tools don't vibrate back and forth they rotate clockwise and counter clockwise at slow and high rates for variable speed tools
I really like these kind of videos a lot, and I watch plenty of them, however every single time I have to set and listen to you and the rest of you "liberal" male "professionals" continually tell me how to work safely, that I need to use eye protection, hearing protection, a breathing apparatus and so on it gets under my skin so bad I just can't watch you, I don't care how good a quality you're putting out, I'm out deuces. Why don't you just do the gun and leave the big boy grown man stuff up to me... What a shocker I'm a grown man I know what I'm doing wow imagine that!! BTW I say liberal, because "Real men, CONSERVATIVES" don't do that..they understand that I am a man that can take care of himself..
Impressive and creative solutions. Old video with timeless help.
Broke r on the stock..
Where can get the wood stock for a 22 rifle that holds ten shells
I'll stick with my DOMINO 500 from FESTOOL! The amount of time I would be fumbling around to change the settings on that thing, it would make me send it at WARP FACTOR 10 across the room. 🤣🤣🤣
Colin I’m trying to make wooden wheels with spokes I have used bandsaw and and jigsaw and not very good at cutting I want to use my m18 compact router and I’m going to make a jig out of acrylics what’s the best bit should I use with my router
I'm so glad this channel hasnt turned into one big commercial for tools like other channels.
I've seen many videos of this. I want to make a jig like this for my router.
Okay, Colin, who is "we."
Pass the melamine across the saw blade in reverse with the blade set just high enough to barely score the melamine on both sides then cut as normal
What is the diffrenece between white and blue masking tape in these tricks?
I think he should be attaching through the runner not from the top
I like the sled you built. Are you sure it's out of square as much as you mentioned? As a retired Machinist, I'd have only checked one cut edge to the factory cut edge against the square. I'd have only put 1 screw in the fence at the edge on the cutting side of the sled and clamped the far end with the C clamp. Then I would've made one cut on the board and checked it for square, and if need be, adjusted the fence on the sled to get it as close as possible. Then I'd leave the factory edge against the fence, and cut side 1, and 3, and measured the piece to see how parallel it is. Who's to say how accurate your square is in the first place? We all use those big framing squares, but I've always doubted how accurate they are.
Always lots of great information, I’ve been following you for years now and never been steered wrong, you’re a true craftsman, thanks for sharing!
working with tools is like cheating, and when you know exactly how to work with them tools o boi
6:43 THESE HOLES ARE NOT DRAWN WELL🗣️🗣️🗣️ GODDAMN 😡😡
*Oops! Colin, you did not draw the holes well. Also, please dowelmaxx 😇
Hey Colin 👋 I also think you should say dowelmaxx. Also please stop laughing at holes it’s very distracting !
I saw on another video that there is no need for tape on the spacing rod. There is a notch or groove on one side to indicate the side you're always using.
OMG🤯 I’ve been overthinking this!! Thank you 🙏. I have a strap especially for frames but I have more scrap wood and extra tie downs straps than I do money😂 so I’m definitely trying this out. I usually have a few frames I need to do at once but have to clamp them a couple of hours in between. Huge time saver man!!
Would increasing the bit depth help avoid the removal issue?
What is the name of the bit you are using in this video?
So a beginner is expected to have expensive machinery? 🤔
Thank you for the great video ,demo and instruction. Have been following you ( subscribed). I am new at this. I just purchased a planer. My issue is adjusting and understanding the how much of a turn after you make one pass etc. Do you have a video thats more in detail in regards to that ? Thank you again .
I admire your video skills on your wood tips etc. On the shaker doors using panel bits. I really like to use 3/8 panels for the inserts. Is there a way to use the panel bits in that application. Right now i use dowels and a dado 3/8 bit and leave a 1/8 as the backside reveal so I get the 1/4 inch shaker look on the front with 3/4 stock

What is the instrument you used with the hammer to make the starter hole when drilling?
I use bushings in my router table all the time. It is a great way to make a shallow tray. The wood is supported by the entire table so no rocking with the bit on unsupported templates. Also there is no wood shavings because my dust collection box around the router deal with the shavings. Thanks Colin, good content.
