why are the displays blinking, how can the pilots make sense of the data being shown?
@neilcassey142125 күн бұрын
They just appear to be blinking in the video because the scan rate of the cockpit display and the scan rate of the camera which recorded it are different.

@@neilcassey1421 About 30 years ago I was watching a car go past me.Inbetween myself and the car there was some iron railings. It made the wheels of the car appear to rotate backwards, rather than forwards - as one often sees on TV. It was then that I realised that vision - at least for us humans - is not continuous. It was not until anout 10 years when I was reading a book ( I think it was " The Origins of Knowledge and Imagination, by J. Bronowski ) that I learned that this is, in fact, the case. I think the difference in speed must only be slight, to have this strobe effect - but I could be wrong on this point.

I remember flying into Anchorage in June 1972, Alaska Airlines 737, on my way to Prudhoe Bay, for a 60 day roughnecking job. It hasn't changed much. It was bumpy just like this video, and I am in a window seat looking at the ground, watching the left wing bounce as we come in over the runway. I am guessing we are about 75 ft. high, when a gust hits us and the plane nose flares up, and the wings tilt way right. I then see the left wing tip come all the way back down to almost touch the ground. I mean I am looking right down the wing tip, I am guessing we are at about a minus 30 degree angle, and it couldn't have been more than a few feet from hitting the ground. The wing tip then came back up to level, and the pilot just slammed the plane onto the ground, and within seconds, I feel the reverse thrusters kick in. Everyone on the plane is dead silent, their jaws hitting the ground, as they look at each other. As the plane slows at the end of the runway cheers, laugher, and applause broke out. I am guessing if you fly for Alaska airlines for a year or so, they give you an asterisk on your profile, that means you are a stud muffin pilot. lol

Now that’s some turbulence! You gotta be an Alaskan bush pilot to handle this kind of fly. I flown Alaska Airlines many times into Alaska and those pilots are so proficient. Not even funny.

Hello there, Kelly I am glad that I could help. I will recommend anchoring the legs to a solid hard surface. Otherwise, the set has the tendency to move about, and because the frame is made out of thin hollow tubing, it will twist a little, and damage could occur. Good luck, and enjoy your swing set.
