Hey! We're Camillo and Anouk and we converted Dakar our 4x4 Mitsubishi Pajero into a camper. After we finished high school in the South of Germany in 2021 our car turned into our little home on four wheels that provides us with a cuddly bed, a gas stove, electricity and filtered running water. I guess that’s all you need for an adventure…
Now, we’re back home again and starting university. During our free time, we’re putting together videos of our last years on the road.
Our Journeys:
4 months in the Balkans and then we shipped to the Middle East
5 months in the Middle East
4 months in North Africa
We hope that our travel documentaries give you some nice insights into our journeys and the countries we passed! We made these videos for friends and family, travel lovers and maybe just for ourselves in a few years to remember our journey through moving images.
See you soon,
Millo & Nouki :)
Our camper: Mitsubishi Pajero V78, 3.2 litre Diesel from 2005

tolles Video... wieder einmal ,)
Dankeschön :)
Beautiful but I just wouldn't feel safe traveling in the middle east. I hate to say it but it's true.
Thank you! Why that? Saudi, UAE, Oman etc. are really safe countries! Basically no crime and the most welcoming and nice people you could imagine. Way safer than Europe for example…
wow
Great video, looks awesome :) Where do I find the backroads you were on in Bosnia in the landmine zone? And do you definitely need a 4x4 to take them or can an adventurer do it in a car or van?
Thank you! In the south of Bosnia, along the border to Croatia (we were near the border crossing Ivanica) are a lot of these small roads where the land mines have not been cleared yet. I would recommend a 4x4 you never know what obstacles you’ll encounter… Some will be fine with a normal car but I would advise against a van as some bends can be very tight and narrow. I’m sure there are nicer tracks in the region, we just drove off the main road to find a sleeping place and then continued the next day, nothing too special :)
Half of the population of Saudi Arabia are non-Saudis, so do not judge Saudis by the roads.
You’re right 40% are expats 😅
Yeah this city really needs transportation, the good news that Riyadh Metro will open this year, Im very excited 😅.
Absolutely! We've seen the constructions for the new metro all over the city and hope it will finish soon :D
Here for the algorithm. Great vid needs more views
Thank you! That's sweet :)
Good video
Thank you :)
great video !
Thank you :)
Welcome to my country, Saudi Arabia
Hey really enjoying your video, I would like to know more about your roof-deck, rear awning and your bike rack setup, ok about your whole setup if you don't mind ; ) I'm trying to mod my suv for overlanding so any details on how you did your roof deck and your bike rack and rear awning would be rally useful. Thanks and enjoy your travel.
Thank you very much! We already filmed a setup video but it will take a few more months until we'll upload. We first want to complete the middle east journey videos... :) Any specific questions we can already answer?

Welcome to my country. Saudi Arabia is rich in antiquities, heritage, geological sites and diverse folklore and is building the largest tourism projects in the world. If you have an email, I will help you with in-depth information that the Germans do not know, to understand Saudi Arabia from many aspects: culturally, touristically, heritageally, socially, geologically, anthropologically, etc. Saudi Arabia is one of the richest countries in the abundance of volcanic lava, and currently there is some research to study the production of geothermal energy from volcanic lava in Saudi Arabia, in addition to various types that Saudi Arabia has begun to work on to be an exporting country for different types of energy. I believe there is an initial agreement with the German government to export green nitrogen to Germany. We cannot compete with you, Germans, in the green mountainous areas because your rain falls more than our dry land, lol, but I see many Europeans traveling to the Fifa Mountains in southern Saudi Arabia.
That belt problem is so common on pajeros. The two belt system with uneven wearnof the belt may be the reason. A constant battle. Nice video.
We didn’t need to tighten them often, in the last two years maybe 4 times… :)
That’s scenic, thank you
saudi arabia more looks like mars.
@@minoukis Danke 👌
Glad to see you guys upload on KZread again - been following through IG. Humble request: When you get the time, kindly do a review of Dakar, incorporating things you've learnt along the way. We'll really appreciate. I've seen a few things I hadn't noticed before: the curtains, rear bar, Geolander tyres. Thank you. All the best - safe journey & keep up the good work.
Really nice to hear from you again! Believe it or not we just spoke about making a set-up video a few days ago ;) just thought it would be best to do it from home, when we’re back from our current journey with some more time. But we’re already gathering ideas! And good to know, that you’d be interested in such a kind of video! Greetings, Camillo & Anouk :)
@@minoukis Great! Safe travels. Have a wonderful time.
Beautifully captured. Magnificent areas ❤
Thank you very much😊
Incredible! So cool guys, what an adventure. Great video production too, calm and entertaining. Fellow Pajero owner here too :D
Oh great! Thank you, that’s nice to hear :)
the desert is beautiful... you had a great time!
great video, really love to see a pajero owner taking their car across such remote areas and documenting them!
Thanks, that’s nice to hear!
Thank you! That sounds like a very nice plan :)
Amazing, so beautiful!! My name is Maher and I am from Saudi Arabia and I would like to use some of those clips in this video to be used in my upcoming travel website, so would you please allow to use some of those clips and thanks
Hey Maher! I think I also just replied to you on Instagram:) We’re usually really relaxed with reposting on Instagram, but the videos here on KZread are very personal and we don’t want them to be pulled out of context. We’re sorry, but we don’t want our Videos to be used by others :) Hope that’s understandable! Have a nice evening!
@@minoukis OK. thanks
Where do we book tickets to hegra ? How much does it cost
Tickets can easily be booked online or at winterpark, the tourist office in AlUla. www.experiencealula.com/en/things-to-do/experiences/hegra-tour
Is it easy to go by normal Car ?
Wdym by normal car?cuz small cars always get stuck in the desert so be careful n go w a compaion or a group of ppl who know the land better
If you stay on the main road it’s no problem, but if you want to explore a little more and beyond the typical tourist destinations 4x4 is needed :)
Was habt ihr bezahlt?
I enjoyed the entire Balkan Journey with you guys. Your storytelling is absolutely enjoyable and relaxing. Btw, so this video was taken in half quarter of 2022 until 2023. I checked your ig nd found out you also reached UAE, I should have met you guys and visit pther places emirates here. But yeah, you are awesome 🫡
Thank you very much! We’re quite behind on editing all the footage we have but we’re working on it :) You’re an expat in the Emirates then?
@@minoukis it may took a little bit longer but the result was outstanding☝️ Yes, I am an expat from the Philippines and currently here in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
W😱W! I didn't even know Albania's natural beauty with it's coast many tourist will come if it's open for investments. Unbelievably stunning!
We really enjoyed Albania even though we only saw a small part of it, we’ll definitely be back…
I really loving your content., another question, when DAKAR didn't start up nd you pushed him a meter and started again, was that a real hack?
We just didn’t want to start the engine just to drive one meter forward, so we pushed 😜
@@minoukis lol now I got it 😋
Another awrsome expedition, by the way, may I know what camera are you using? Nice to know your car name though "DAKAR"
We’re mainly using a Lumix G110, a bit of footage is from the GH5, and the DJI mini 2 Drone :)
I was looking looking for Pajero overlnding set up nad saw your channel. Awesome, I was happy to see 3rd gen exactly like mine and my plan of adding DAKAR is there haha. You deserve a subs ❤
Hey thanks, you also want to convert yours then…? :)
You both have the art of story telling. Beautiful narration, great content and lovely photography. Thankyou both.
Thank you for the sweet comment!! We really appreciate it :)
I have a question: What do German tourists often look for in tourism, the things that make them love traveling to a country, and the most important types of tourism that they prefer?
It really depends on the people, mostly like everyone else they’re travelling for culture, landscape and adventure reasons.
@@minoukis You are always welcome to Saudi Arabia. I loved your conversation and it was special. Welcome to my country. In reality, Saudi Arabia is not closed as many tourists had imagined, because during the Hajj and Umrah season, tens of millions visit Saudi Arabia annually from all over the world, and a third of the Saudi population are foreigners of all ethnicities and religions, and tourist visas were available through Saudi embassies. The change that has occurred is the ease of obtaining a tourist visa for Saudi Arabia and the government undertaking huge projects to develop the tourism infrastructure and tourism promotion of the Kingdom, as the rest of the tourist countries do. Conservative ideas are at the core of our morals, values, and religion, and the role model for Saudi women is the Virgin Mary and the wives of the Prophet Muhammad, who were modest in their clothing. Therefore, the hijab and robes are among the teachings of Islam found in the texts of Surat Al-Nur. The Saudis do not want to change what they believe in for the sake of tourists because Islam is a way of life and not just a religion. Any woman, regardless of her race or appearance, will attract the attention of men, especially if she is beautiful. Therefore, the purpose of the jilbab and hijab is not to draw the attention of men to women, and it is one of the protective laws for women to protect them from harm by men, because Islamic law is not only concerned with punishing criminals, but rather sets some laws for women to protect them preventively from foreign men who are obsessed with women. The Islamic system of government is based on social justice and moral values, while the systems of government in democratic countries are based on materialism, absolute freedom and equality. Therefore, many Westerners understand that much of what Westerners believe is freedom we see as a crime because it harms the individual and society. Therefore, there is a lot of confusion and ignorance in the concept of human freedom. And women in Islamic culture. Enjoy your time. I advise you to visit Al-Rajhi Mosque in Riyadh to ask them why we are Muslims and why Islamic culture conflicts with liberalism and democracy so that you can obtain good cultural information about Saudi Arabia. Because I discovered that the Germans do not understand these matters and have bias due to their ignorance of what we believe and why we believe in it. You can view the Summary of Ethics on the Dorar website. You will learn about the standards of right and wrong in our culture. I advise the Germans in particular to visit Al-Ukhdud in Najran, to visit the Christian Holocaust of the Jewish king, because I know that the Jews still accuse the new generations of Germans of the Holocaust even though they did not live it. While the King of the Jews committed a Holocaust against the Christians in Najran, and now the State of Israel is burning the Palestinians with aircraft missiles. Because I do not want the young Germans to feel apologetic for a crime they did not commit, and the Jews of Najran did the same thing to the Christians, crimes that ended in the death of their perpetrators. enjoy your time .
Thank you for your information. We’ve left Saudi 9 months ago and are really behind on editing and uploading videos… We’ve traveled quite a few Muslim countries and have gained some understanding of the religion and culture…
Great adventure the abandoned villages were cool , I’d love to visit Croatia , do you use campsites or just camp wild .
We didn’t stay at any campsites in Croatia and only two nights in total on our trip did we spend a night at a campground. :)
Hi, how is it working here with taxis? How can I get from airport to Our Habitas and from Winter Park to airport? Thank you for you reply.
I’m not sure about taxis, I presume there are some, but you can for sure get around with Careem (just like Uber)
Did you book anything or just drive there like Maraya?
We did book Hegra for example a few days prior and also for Maraya you need a ticket to enter the area, which you can get at the winter park information centre for free.
@minoukis don't u need any reservations for entering in maraya ??
Great video.... Q: where did u sleep on alula?
Thank you! In AlUla we stayed on the official Winterpark parkinglot, they also have lavatories. Otherwise we camped a night near the AlUla Viewpoint and at the Al Buriekah Rocks. Hope that helps!
Hello both, thank you for sharing your beautiful travels. Beautiful video-graphy and your calm, quiet tone adds to the sights & natural beauty of the scenes you visit. Wishing you both well and happy enjoyable onward journey on your travels. Regards, Mas
Thank you for your sweet comment! It means a lot to us! :)
Enjoyed your video very much. Beautiful natural areas and the truthfulness of showing the problems as well. 😊🇺🇸
Thank you, glad you liked it😊
Hi. Interessting to show clips of entering the sites. What drone were you using and license?
Thanks glad you liked it :) At the time we were using the DJI mini 2 but it is virtually impossible to get a license in Saudi…
@@minoukis I understand, I am an expat in Saudi and still waiting for my basic recreational license still. By the way, I see you have drone shots in Old Alula. I hope that area is really not that strict. I do have a Mini 2, too. I hope to make my own shot from that place.
Absolutely brilliant again guys.... I do love your balance of factual information, story telling and your personal insights of how the places that you visit are affecting you.
Thank you for all the positive feedback! :)
