Beautiful ❣️ I just watched an 8 year old video of yours where you broke WV on wool roving. Decided to try it. It came out soooo beautiful! I'm going to sell it and call it Rebecca 😁 I've learned a lot about how to dye from you. You're awesome!
Moody was the word that came to mind when seeing the glazed yarn.
The glazed yellow is what makes those skeins so amazing!!!
A VERY GOOD STUDY CASE.
Thank you for this video 😊from single dad with dauther
Glaze with some Green? (with blues) Does green strike fast? My brain can't "brain" today. Also, what about doing an experiment with NSW to actually see if it glazes? Im curious as most of my spinning is NSW.
Hi, my spoonie friend. Are there any greens that would be suitable? I would love to see this experiment done with deep purple, pink and green. Take care.
I think this is my favourite so far of the SMSMS series this year! Edit: the more I think about it, the more I think this may be my favourite colourway EVER. Edit edit: I even went to your ETSY store to see how much it would be to ship to Canada, but holy gods, unless there's something wrong with my browser settings, I can't afford that much for one skein of yarn no matter how gorgeous it is :(
❤❤❤❤
Oh my, that is a beautiful colorway. Experimenting is so much fun!
It really is!
That is a pretty colorway
Thank you!
so you cant really go wrong with either brand? Ive switched to jaquard just because it's easier to get.
Correct! I have some prefrences, but I use both and love the results. I like Dharma's fl. safety orange better than jacquard's fl. orange, but you can adjust the tones to your liking by adding more pink or yellow. There isn't a good eqivalent to purple pop in jacquard's line - but you can mix something with turquoise and hot fuchsia.
Love how you experiment and don't know what the outcome will be but you go with it and learn from your experiments!
I hoped, and it came out better than I could have imagined! I love being able to play with color like this
I know this is an old video, but I have to say I love how this turned out!! And when you started it was very much making me think of Beetlejuice. Which I also love!!
OOO that's perfect for Halloween! :D I have'nt thought about this project in a while so it made me smile to see it come back across my feed.
I love how these turned out. It almost looks like a fade of colour from darker to lighter, such a nice effect, thanks!
Thank you! 😊
Rebecca...the colors is so pretty....I love glazed yarn.
Thank you!!
It is so pretty! I have no idea what percentage my white vinegar is - all it says is contains vinegar!! Oh well - it works ok. Yes! Definitely you should try on non super wash. ❤
Most vinegar at home is 4 or 5% acetic acid. It should say somewhere on the bottle likely. I started saying that I'm using the 5% aa vinegar because there was some discussion in the canning community about the strength changing in some brands and that makes a HUGE difference for canning. For yarn it doesn't matter as much.
Love these colors so much! I've been doing a lot of pink and navy dye projects this summer.
I adore pink and navy!
I love the result, it makes me think of a potion wafting towards it's intended recipient. Yes, you can glaze a non superwash yarn, I've done it, just not on purpose.
I feel like I've also done it not-on-purpose. So We'll see if I can do it on purpose :D I haven't tried it yet but it is on my list!
Super pretty! I'd love to see you try to glaze on non-superwash.
It is on my list for sure!
Sorry this was a little bit late. I set it to PM instead of AM.
A 24 hour clock would be so nice!
I would love to see the first half left as is and steam set. The combinations were beautiful.
Here is one video where i didn't move one of them and then moved the other quickly. So not quite the same, but similar. kzread.info/dash/bejne/haum0beAoMTYlLA.html I would also like to do that experiment!
I think a a video where you try to replicate the results from using leftover dye /dying-by-feel is a great idea!
thank you!
clickbait bullshit
Beautiful color way of the yarn 🧶
Thank you! 😊
These are so beautiful-- I think this is my favorite technique I've watched of yours so far!! I may try this if I get froggy and jump into dying my own yarn!!❤
You can try this out with food coloring, too!
Hello my dear, what a great idea! You are a cornucopia of good ideas. Simply beautiful. I will definitely be coloring this! Thank you!
Thank you!
I like this shoebox method. I don't really have the space for most of the dyeing tools I've seen in most videos (hopefully later! 😂). But this is great for a beginner who just wants to mess around a bit. Which fibers work best for this method? Can you use any fiber?
This is a super relavent question to something I'm working on today! ;) I mostly dye superwash wool blends, but it should work on other fiber types. The wrost that will happen is that the dye will all blend together.
This is gorgeous!
Thank you so much!
Hello my dear, thank you for showing me how to glaze yak with pink. I still have a lot of yak here that is already spun and needs to be spun. It looks so beautiful glazed with pink. Really beautiful! I'm very curious to see how it looks when I dye mulberry silk pink and glaze it together with yak spun. Do you have any advice?
The yak blend yarn was superwash, so that is part of what made it a bit easier. You can see my glazing conditions in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qWmgwdh8lJqTks4.html (I have things written out under VIDEO CONTENTS in the descrption.) A SW merino/silk blend also glazed super well, but that also had the superwash component and superwash yarns soak up color faster than non-superwash. I have plans to try to glaze with non-superwash at some point.
this was totally unexpected from the beginning its lovely--I even loved the first time you lifted it
THank you!
I love love love the middle 3
They are such a fun surprise, aren't they?!
Beautiful. Looks like a fancy Malabrigo yarn
This is a huge complement, thank you!
I also adore these results! I would love to see more dyeing using this method. So many possibilities!
YAY! It is a favorite of mine for sure, sometimes I worry that I lean on it too much but I have some more coming up.
I love the shoebox technique - it always gives you such interesting results. Such a soft beautiful colour way.
It's hard to know exactly what will happen with the colors, so that's the only real risky part.
Beautiful!!
Thank you!
Thank you so much, I FINALLY made a magic circle. Thank you for explaining it. It took about 20 rewatches for when you made the first stitch in the circle, that’s the part I struggled with the most, but I finally got it, and have a nice mc now.
So pretty! I love how the colours soften by mixing them together
Right??? It makes me so happy every time
I absolutely love my yarn from this series 😊. Please look after your back and take it easy. Lots of love ❤
Thank you and I'm so glad you love hte yarn!
That turned out to be a very pretty colorway
I'm OBSESSED with it!
Gorgeous ❤.
Thank you!
Peas and carrots!!! That's what I'm reminded of when I saw it in the wash bin 😊
Oh no
@@ChemKnitsTutorials not at all!!! I loved it!!! ❤️
I need to make a skein like this for socks or a moody rainbow hat. I don't really need any more single skeins of varigated yarn lol
YES!!
Beautiful end result! I totally felt your pain when you were moving the yarn the first time, it was so pretty and you were hesitating to put it back in the dye. I'm glad those colors still showed up and didn't just turn to mud. (Not that mud can't be pretty in its own right, lol).
Sometimes I want it to go back in, and other times I"m just so unsure.
So beautiful ❤️🥰🥰
Thank you!
I really enjoy watching your videos! Your energy and enthusiasm is contagious. With regards to the Peacock Blue, it might be a dye that requires a minimum of 125 degrees F to fully dissolve because of the turquoise in it. You said you had dissolved it in hot water, but it might not have been quite hot enough. My hot water from the tap is 120 degrees F maximum. If I am using anything with Turquoise, I heat up the water a little more. Just a thought.
Boiling water would be better for sure, but I'm lazy TBH. One other issue I've had is that things are soluble when super hot and then crash back out of solution when things cool off. But yes - I should use boiling water probably! :D
@@ChemKnitsTutorials I certainly do not have enough experience to be the expert, but feel we all can learn from each other. Thanks!
beautiful, i will be trying this!
It is a favorite technique of mine for sure
So pretty! I would have been tempted to pull it out at @5:30 but it turned out even better in the end.
THanks!
