    Wind-up was slow but still satisfying

  • @JoshStPierre

    Yeah, I agree. When planning the video I really wanted to only finally show the deaths when the music gets intense, and so that’s what I did, perfectly synced. But then the video got copyright claimed for the song so I had to use youtube’s edit software to replace the song with a different recording of the song so I could monetize it. And unfortunately the youtube editor doesn’t allow precise editing, just basic stuff like replacing the song. And so now, it isn’t perfectly synced. The intense part of the music happens like 5 or 10 seconds before the biter deaths start happening. If it was still perfect, i imagine it wouldn’t feel like the wind-up was slow, because it would feel “right”, and be worth it.

    I'm very curious how well this works on a deathworld. Or do the worms eventually destroy it by spitting randomly and always hitting something?

  • @JoshStPierre

    Good question, so, it seems as though rails can’t be damaged while a train is on them, and since the train is pretty much the entire length of the rails that means the rails won’t be damaged or destroyed. That leaves just the train to worry about. It gets damaged, but I planned out a system where the train can be repaired and refueled without compromising the defense, more info on that is in the description. I didn’t build it because I lost interested.

    So I think, I found both cuts. The first is at 0:49 You can clearly see trains disappearing and appearing out of nowhere. The second is at 1:16 I saw the sudden change in lighting and went backwards frame by frame. (with comma and period on the keyboard) There are logistic bots in the bottom center and on the bottom right disappearig from one frame to the other.

    Okey, only one question: how refill the fuel and health for all train?

  • @JoshStPierre
    @JoshStPierre4 ай бұрын

    I never built the refueling and repairing system, because I lost interest. But I planned one. Basically there would be another train identical to this one, and every 5 minutes they would switch places. The one not defending would pull into a giant rail structure somewhere inside the base to get repaired and refueled. A circuit clock would manipulate signals every 5 minutes to get them to reroute and switch places. There would be hardly any gap between the trains as they're switching, as well, so no weakness in the defense.

  • @loliest
    @loliest4 ай бұрын

    @@JoshStPierre oh, switch train be my first idea, when i see it) But i think it's too hard to build , so i think about "warning system" what start the train when biters appears.

    This is a good idea, I liked it, I designed it myself. But it also has disadvantages: 1 - How to get out of this barrier? The player will also be killed if he tries to go outside 2 - How to manage all this? After all, locomotives cannot stop at any moment, but they must take fuel 😊

  • @JoshStPierre
    @JoshStPierre5 ай бұрын

    Thank you! Here are the answers: 1. Spidertron! The trains cannot touch the spidertron, so you can use it to pass the barrier. 2. Basically there would be another train identical to this one, and every 5 minutes they would switch places.
