Retro toys.
There is an old WWII film called battleground and a short film based on a Steve King novel too. Nice set by the way 👌
I'm saving up to get some antique lead soldiers from a shop in my town.
I ordered some Buffalo soldiers from BMC toys, the African American soldiers. Their coming by post.
Good video. Had the American/German version. Kit had a Sherman tank, half-track, Tiger I, Panzer IVE, Panther, 88mm, 105mm howitzer, bard wire rolls Imperial Germany flag, American flag and bunch of other stuff. Recie ed that set for Christmas early 1970s and had endless battles with it.
The old West, this is so cool. You even have the tree set.
Cool set you have there.
@@ronaldmcdonald8303 This 1976 Desert Fox set is one of my personal favorites.
@@greatesttoysevermade3693 I still have the army men from when I was a toddler way back in the early 90s. Toy soldiers are my life.
OMG !! Wow!! You made my day even better!! I had this toy back in the 1970s as a kid!! Man those were simpler and better tines. Thanks for sharing ❤🎉
@@mellymelshaves Glad that you enjoyed the video and that it brought you some happy memories of simpler and better times. Thanks for watching!
What a nice set. I'm glad you looked after it.
I have some of these figs --- orginal's mostly dog chewed, but have found replacements at toy-soldiers shows and ebay. I got mine in ?? 1953 ?? when I was 6 or 7.
@@ronprillaman8580 Yes, many of these same poses would have been available up until 1955/56.
Cool
So freaking cool
@@Mike-l2m Glad that you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
Nice video! You did a better job than I did in explaining the set pieces. We had so many Marx playsets when I was a kid, I just wished they had survived. The hard plastic pieces were just too fragile for young kids.
I enjoyed your video as well! Thank you for watching.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It’s amazing these sets you have survived after 70 plus years! Very cool👍
Thanks for the video. I had not seen this set before.
Love these videos..I have a few 50s sets myself...they were awesome and man oh man that's when you would use your imagination and play for hours and hours 😊
@@toddbelanger1923 Glad that you enjoy the videos, thanks for watching!
That's so cool 😎
Wonderful video. 😊
Thanks for watching!
My dad must have owned this set because I remember playing with these as a kid in the late 90's/early 2000's, good memories
I too grew up in the 90s and very early 00s, oh the memories. After 2001 life went down hill unfortunately.
Check out the Fort Apache set purchased from the same childhood owner here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/rImOk9R8f8fahaw.htmlsi=ozjT3VCmLAwtNadi
Very interesting Great information. 👍
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video!
What scale would you say this set is?
1/30th scale approximately.
Check out the Roy Rogers Western Town playset that I got from the same childhood owner here….show Roy Rogers some love too! kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y4qG0dislpCWhps.htmlsi=0uBv_SQ-D9iSDj6f
Nice vintage play set.
Glad you enjoyed the video thanks for watching!
Was that your own personal place or did you purchase it? It looks as if it was made yesterday.
Not a childhood set, a bit before my time!
Hold on Trigger! Ole Roy's a little saddle sore!
🤠
Love these olde Marx sets!🇨🇦I assembled one for a Battle of Dieppe 1942 set. We Canucks got massacred thanks to British bungling. Mountbatten still got promoted.
Thanks for watching!
LOVED THIS SHOW WHEN I WAS A KID I WISHIT WAS STILL N TV
Beautiful! Zorro was my favorite show in 1958. Think when I first saw this playset I was on the cusp of being too old for it, probably when Zorro was rerun in the early 60's. .
Zorro is a great old tv show that’s for sure! Glad that you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
Que recuerdos ya que yo en dos oportunidades d regalo del niño jesus le pedi el fuerte apache pero era otro d una gran caja d 1970
Nice!!
My first Battleground set! Great set.
Agreed! There was still some magic left in these playsets up until the very end.
@@greatesttoysevermade3693 There are differences between the 1977 and 1978 versions. Smaller box, different photobox pic, etc.
@@anilles2001 Yes, I may do the 1978 version video sometime. It took me a few years to figure out those differences between the two sets, same thing with the 1977 and 1978 Fort Apache sets.
@@greatesttoysevermade3693 I'll have to do a live video of them too.
Those little yellow barrels look identical to the ones Marx included in their barrel loader accessory. My dad had one.
You are correct! Thanks for watching.
I remember the boys who lived next door had this. It was a fun playset!

Just subscribed number 706 ! Really enjoy seeing all the different play sets. Never had any of these sets. Remember going to Woolworths and buying bags of toy soldiers. You have a great channel 👍
Glad you are enjoying the videos, Woolworths was great! Thanks for watching.
Nice set, really like the box art 👍
You have a great collection of play sets ! Where do you find them in such a complete condition? Really enjoy your videos 👍
Many years of searching toy shows, flea markets and auctions.
you ever heard of "the thing returns" playset?
I believe it was a collector created concept set but never officially manufactured by a major toy company.
The Ranch house looks very different with the new litho paint job.
It’s a neat little cabin, Marx was really good at using existing tooling and creating something different. Thanks for watching!
Just look at how many times they used the well, the anvil, the axe and log, the beds etc.
I was born in austin tx in 1952 and always wanted this but my Dad was transferred to CA who hardly knew of the Alamo..
I got the Rodeo Ranch set in 1959, still have it!
Great set! Thanks for watching!
I collected these sets growing up, I still have them, and would like more!
I hear you…thanks for watching!
Loved this as a kid
It’s a great set that’s for sure! Thanks for watching!
