Nice vid. This is surely later than 83 though; the cinema was knocked down after that.

With regard to the old bus stand, at The Tally Ho, where you could see your buses, that "stop" must not be forgotten! About the comments of 1986, but I think the 221 and 82 began in 1985, when I started my 1st year at North London College, and took the bus to Finchley for business affairs. Sent 3.40pm: 14.1.19. Yes how short-sighted it was. Like throwing away the family heirlooms. But the ? ticket office still survives doesn't it at the top of The Grove? And there is good walking along the line much of the way to Finsbury Park. "The Parkland Walk?"

Tories had been in power since 1951 so of course public transport for regular folk was never a funding priority. Trams gone for cars too. So many small stations closed in that rash of closes pre-beaching in 55/56 would now be heavily used. Much like the railways that were stripped out of Northern Ireland around the same time. Shocking really but hindsight is a wonderful thing (and Tories caring about working ppl is non-existent). All for big oil.

An incredibly stupid and short-sighted act, now bitterly regretted. The perpetrators should have been imprisoned, instead of being paid hefty salaries for their utter incompetence. Thank you for this video. Nice music, but maybe Gorecki's Third Symphony might have been more suitable.
