I just won a Golden Shield model from an auction last night for $36 and stumbled upon this video in my research. Very well made, thank you!

When u find cameras like this at estate sales, do you typically find ones that are in working order? Or do u have to fix them yourself? And if it's the latter, how have you been able to figure that out? Thanks!

Ok you guys could drop the volume and add an old grainy black and white filter and pass this off as historical footage. The attention too detail is insane. Damn fine job

The good Ole Big Red One. Makes me feel proud. Grandpa was in 1st division from late 42 til wounded out of action In early 45. Today is actually his birthday. If he were alive he would be 105 today. Thanks for sharing this.

Ever seen a Universal Mercury II? Just recently found out about them, it was the American response to the expensive and more advanced German cameras of the time. They were the price of an Argus C3 but more capable. They're pretty cool, they use a rotary focal plane shutter similar to what was used in professional movie cameras and could go up to 1/1000

Great Presentaion. The Argus C3 is the World's Greatest Camera. The Argus Museum is in Ann Arbot MI. Very nice of you to mention Tony Vaccaro. The following is my thought, "Until you own and use an Argus C3, you cannot call yourself a photographer. Keep up the good work.

Blooming brilliant review! U inspired me to get 1, ok, 3. Started w/ a 1955 Pacemaker Speed 45 but shutter switch & back need work But got a pair of 1950 Pacemaker Speed 23 & 45 of 1951. love them. Fun As for the rangefinder, I found the side Kalart much str8 easier to dial in then the top version needed cams. I’m using w/ 6 shot Grafmatic back & modems Metz Mecablitz 45 CL-4

I bought an Argus C3 from a thrift store in Colorado for like $10. Unfortunately, the case was a little worn so I just threw it away 😢 I still have the camera, but now i’m wishing I kept the case and just fixed it up. I just opened it up and it looks like there is still film in here!
