What good sisters Dorothy and Elizabeth were, falling in love with Alex even though he was Laurie's fiance.

In one of Doris’ interviews, radio I think, but it was on you tube, she talked about this movie. She said Sinatra was not happy to be doing the film so it was a bit tense. So guess his grouchiness wasn’t acting. Lol.

Frank Sinatra didn't play the piano, maybe a note or two, but he fakes it very well here! And I've always loved Doris's voice but hated that duck-tail hair style, maybe it was "in" back then, I don't know! And "pedal pushers" for $8.95? When was that, back when God was born? But thank goodness FS gained some weight in later life, but he swam in the ocean every day when young, which probably helped give him his great lung capacity and breath control! Good movie, I'd like to see all of it some time.

This is a remake of a 1938 film called “Four Daughters” . It had a sequel called “Four Mothers.” I loved Young at Heart the first time I saw it as a teen and I still remember almost every scene, line and even what Doris is wearing in every scene. Oh, those white gloves!

The fifties had the best clothes , sweaters and full skirts were the most fun to wear and the most feminine . I was in my late teens and will never forget the fun we had wearing the skirts with full slips. We had slim waistlines and wore Keds as well. Clothing that is worn now days just doesn’t compare!

Two such incredibly talented people! Imagine if, by some chance they had gotten together as a couple in real life. They both had unfortunate marriages between them (Doris with Martin Melcher and Frank with Mia Farrow for example). To quote from a trivia page, "While making this film, Frank Sinatra took an almost immediate dislike to Doris Day's husband, Martin Melcher, thought that Melcher was "using" her to get ahead in the movie business and tried to convince Day of that fact. When Day refused to listen to Sinatra's advice, he had Melcher banned from the set. After Melcher's death in 1968, it was discovered that he had squandered all the money Day had earned during her 20-year film career.

Yes, such a shame she married such a creep. So nice to know Doris Day was able to work again and retire in a lovely home with her pets and family around her. She had many fans who she kept in contact with through her fan club and charities she supported. So glad she was able to get her life back on track.
