Great tutorial but I cannot but wonder why Adobe has not made iInDesign's gradient tool any better. They do have the illustrator precedent. I would suggest that before jumping on board the AI train they should master the simple commands that are needed every day...
Well done! Thanks.
That is great and clear. Thanks. But, many people don't know how to write and transfer their thoughts into simple and clear sentences. That is a skill.
Brillant!!!
Perfection.
👊
👌
"One dot to rule them all"
Easy and clever!
Fantastic!
Paragraph rules are so useful. In a day's before paragraph shading, I used it for making inverted titles.
Very cool! I like to make rounded "banners" behind headlines/titles using them. -EG
Esperto! Quem não tem cão caça com furão…😀😉
I've never heard that saying and I don't know if it's a good thing! 😂 -EG
That's brilliant, but what about two or more digits? Will the circle increase in size?
Good question
The circle size is based on the weight of the point size so it won’t increase for double digits. If you know you need double digits you should set the size for that initially.
Thanks 😊
Again, I enjoy it so much listening you two. So much knowledge and experience in InDesign. I live in Europe and I can not come to some of your live events to meet you. This is so good. Btw, where are the links to the scripst? I looked in the description, and I didn't find it.
So glad you are enjoying. And maybe you can join a virtual event with us one day! I will add the shownotes link to the description. Sorry to make you go to another page, but links in the YT description get overwhelming. Show notes here: creativepro.com/ep-320-must-have-scripts/
In days of QuarkXPress, I devise I system for making calendars. With InDesign nested and grep styles is even easier. I'd like to see that script.
Awesome video
Really nice
I *THOUGHT* I knew how to work with gradients but I was so wrong. Thanks for this excellent presentation!
I have used Bridge since its inception. It is the best file manager. I promote it and show it to the people. But, you are right, so many people are not using it. And, there I think about professional users.
Scripts, Plugins, Extensions, Add-Ons ... why would that be confusing at all! 😜
Perfect tutorial. Totally clear, every word is relevant...not one bit of waste. Thank you.
I didn't find the speaker very helpful in this
There was multiple mentions about putting links to things in "the show notes". I dont see any anywhere. Was this not for youtube?
Sorry about that... they were referencing the podcast page show notes. I've updated the description and the link is here: creativepro.com/ep-320-must-have-scripts/
Thanks, you two wonderful peeps, for a very informative (as always) piece! I've been following you two for almost 20 years and even call Chicago my home though I haven't lived there for the last 40 years!! Anne-Marie, do you miss Chicago? I do!! Back to the point -- you have offered so much here that is incredibly valuable. Thank you again.
Our pleasure!
Good info to know!
Very helpful Thank you
Year back the RGB and cmyk there is a difference between the printing area but now the digital printing are accepting the RGB and cmyk
Digital printing is just converting RGB to CMYK directly. That means that colours are not prepared for print. Percentage is wrong, and RGB black is coming in all 4 colours. It is better to prepare a document to be really CMYK and then print it.
I am very appreciate you people are talking about a paper can you tell me that the difference between cream paper white paper and half white
Is there any script for separating the chapters in the single book
Hello 👋
For most applications, the QR code generation in InDesign is really great. However, the input window for business card data has a few disadvantages: 1. some data fields are missing in the window, such as the entry of fax numbers, pagers, etc. 2. the generated version of the VCF data is still V_2.1, which is said to have insufficient support for UTF-8. This may cause difficulties when encoding foreign languages. The latest version of VCF is V_4.0, the most commonly used version is currently 3.0 ... A feature request to Adobe would be useful 🙂
Fantastic - 💫💯
amazing tutorial thank you so much for sharing
You are so welcome!
i don't know why I never thought of using gradients in texts. Thanks, I loved it
Doesn't work for me. I don't see anything changing at all.
Again enjoyed 😊
Thanks!
i can't move the artboards horizontally, only vertically on y axis
You won't be able to move them if you're using Facing Pages. And remember to turn off Allow Doc Pages to Shuffle. -EG
God blessing you, I faced this from years for my rarely awful experience with InDesign. I always wondering why it is not that simple like Figma master components. But this is simple too! Thank you again!
there is an issue in InDesign with scaling arrowheads. If you have a line weight of 1 point or less the arrowhead will NOT scale down
Thanks for the tip on Brightslide. I’ve long waited for Microsoft to add this obvious feature to Powerpoint, but in the meantime, Brightcarbon has provided this essential tool for free. I’ve already used it this morning to refine my template for Slidedocs.
The amount of things you can do with Brightslide is amazing! Glad it’s useful for you! -EG
Sorry, I would have been inclined to watch could I hear anything.
Could you not hear her? Were you watching live? I could hear her fine, so I wonder if your player volume was down. Can you hear the replay? -EG
LOVE the earings!
Wow! It's really nice. As this is CreativePRO, you don't need to explain how to start an action or where the panel is. This is a more beginner than pro.
Some people are beginners on their way to being a pro! We include everyone here.
@@CreativePro Thank you
@@CreativePro That's right. And even some of us have been using Photoshop for thirty years or more appreciate some of those details we may have forgotten...so thanks for your completeness.
👍
Wow! That is so useful. Thanks.
I use Text Variables often for different stuff, but I never use it in this way. Great! Thanks for the idea! ❤
Thank you so much!
