Maybe not "beginner" per say, but personally I LOVED orbitals when I got started. Learning those moves taught me so much about the 5 fundamentals you covered here. So, I would humbly add "String manipulation" as a consideration. Both Isolations and tangles would fall under this category, but perhaps not under absolute beginner... It was a beginner "trick" for me, anyways.

This is very cool how to do the flower with antispins. Beat control is so important literally. Taking energy away from the poi plus giving the poi energy can be very beneficial.

Can you do a vid for beg-intermed self taught people just performing the moves we prob already know but with their associated names? I had no idea of any of my move names til this vid! It will be helpful in learning others!

I have ADHD and have a hard time memorizing instructions and especially conceptualizing spatial instructions so I learned hooping (15 yrs-expert) and later poi balls & flags (beginner) on my own. Never realized I could actually process/learn this from a video but all you are saying makes perfect sense! I just learned windmills with small hoops and applied it to my poi. Took 14 years for my brain to allow me to be in 2 planes with different arms! I found the simple weave WAY easier. I still cant notice the diff between diff types of weaves. They all look the same to me lol. I only know all 3 of these plus figure 8s (once i shorten the strap a lot) and need inspiration! That reel turn looks scary! Think Im gonna hit myelf 10X! 😂

I often have this problem, but usually only when trying to do flowers in split-same. This video helped me figure out the problem and ways to think of the trick differently!

Split same definitely comes with its own unique challenges apart from the others. Maybe a video on it specifically is in order? 🤔

Would you consider making a full glossary of tricks in poi? I’m picking up tricks here and there but I’m feeling like they’re incomplete and there’s so much I’m not even aware of. There are other lists of poi tricks but they seem incomplete, and you’re incredibly active. Thank you for all of the work that you do!

Thank you for sharing this and I definitely agree that timing and direction are very important. Plane facing is so cool literally and didnt realize what it was until you explained it in this video. Tics tacs definitely have to practice them in different planes but have it down in wheal plane. Zero points are definitely very useful and have been playing around with how to add and subtract energy with the poi.
