I’m my more recent videos I use zooms to focus in on big moments that I want to bring attention to in the performances. This is an early video for this channel and I’ve done what I can to accommodate people who want to see the drums and reactions together. 😁

I love the Chili Peppers, and I've always known Chad was a great drummer, but I never knew just how good he was until I saw that video. He listened to the opening 20 seconds or so and then just killed it off the top of his head, on the fly. An absolute masterclass in drumming.

Compare this to Chad's video and it's completely different, dude LITERALLY just went "I think it's in 3" within the first 10 seconds and just proceeded to play his heart out in one take. Greyson definitely has the skills to turn intention into music, I don't think anybody is doubting that but he still lacks the intuition and confidence that comes with DECADES of sitting in the chair. Still, I have zero doubt that this kid will turn over some of the musical epics of our time. Just give it 20 more years and people will speak about him as a living legend, 10 if he keeps working this hard xD

The guy is super talented but he is way off here because he drums way outside the context of the song. The song needs conventional simple drumming. He drums to show off, not to serve the song. He should stick to metal in my opinion.

OldSkuleNerd on KZread quote: "Serj Tankian has an unmistakable voice it's bright it's Poppy it's a little awkwardly high yet resonant it's iconically sounding it is one of those voices that makes you pay attention kind of like Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy Osbourne doesn't necessarily have the greatest musical voice, but the sound of his voice makes you pay attention. Serj Tankian is that person even when he's doing that rapid the rapid uh bars he'll spit or if he does musical beautiful sounding uh melodic tones the sound of his voice is unmistakable. You can almost if you hear his voice you immediately think System of a Down or at least him now because it's The Cost these are three world class musicians two of them come from a functional Jazz Progressive Funk genre style the bass and the guitarist of the band ... Then you take El Estepario Siberiano So literally what we have done is we have, even though System of a Down is no longer together, you can literally do everything that you love from that, funky off, out of the box style of System of a Down rhythmically and creatively and then you also have Serj and then here's my favorite part the lead singer of The Cost has this gorgeous low in resonant just Soulful voice so if you have Serj getting your attention someone is also speaking to your heart. Me: Indeed Serj Tankian has a specific profound voice signature like Ozzy Osbourne you mentioned, there are not many examples like that. But what about the voice signature of: Matt Bellamy of Muse (band formed in 1994) vs Serj Tankian of "System of a Down" (band also formed in 1994). cheers, John 🦜🦋🌳
