I live 5 minutes from the creek glad to see it on the KZread
Nice one man
What a blessing to be with Dad, at the dock, stocking up on food! It seemed like you caught one fish after another! I love hearing Dad’s laugh & the birds chirping away!
Some of the prettiest and clearest waters I’ve seen. What a gorgeous and colorful tiger ! What a variety of fish you caught! Way to go!
Gorgeous water hole, and other waters, how neat that you made your own hand tie jigs. It was a very entertaining and enjoyable video!
slayin! Nicely done
@@gvsoutdoors2673 thanks buddy!
Nice looking crappie! You should make a "Catch N Cook" video.
@@justrelaxandfish thanks! I definitely plan to make a couple in the upcoming months! Just gotta find the time to get out on the water to catch some more! Thanks for watching!
Carter, I have a question, what do you enjoy most? Crappie fishing or trout fishing?
I enjoy crappie fishing more. It can be very frustrating but they are so much fun to catch and eat. It’s difficult because I don’t always have access to a boat to chase the crappie tho. Whereas I can drive anywhere to fish for trout
slab happy
great times with father and son
@@robertcox815 absolutely! Making memories that we can reflect on for many years! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video!
@@paulkipps9392 thanks Mr. Kipps!
Could try getting a fly rod . Looks like you would enjoy it .
My most recent video showed the growing pains of learning the fly rod actually! I’ve definitely fallen in love with it and hope to use it a lot in future videos! Thanks for watching!!
What a Slab! Good stuff man.
Thanks man!
hello Catching Limits, does Va have fly fishing streams ? when does trout season start and how much is a out of state lic. cost, sorry I'am asking ??, Iam from NJ, and I also fly fish TN, NC , thank you good fishing Dale
Hi Dale, thanks for reaching out! Va doesn’t have any streams that are specifically designated for fly rod only but we have over 200 stocked streams and numerous native/wild streams where fly fishing can be done! The stocked season runs from October 1st through May 31st but they don’t really start stocking well until April 1st. I believe a non resident trout license is the same as a resident license so $23. It will cost a bit for the freshwater license too tho. $47 for a year or $21 for a 10 day license. Good luck if you make it down here!
Those crappie were feeding up for the winter! They were liking that marabou jig!
Yes sir! We got a bit of a warm front that lasted for 2 weeks and by the end of it, the crappie were schooled up and chewing!
Going trout fishing in Gatlinburg on Wednesday watched ur video and had to sub
Good luck on your adventure and I appreciate the support! If you have any questions, let me know. There are so many awesome holes all through the stretch that I was fishing.
Great vid , I fished cascades one time and was casting a riffle and an egg sucking leech pattern and had 9 rises and takes and whiffed on every one. Set hook to early. I feel your pain. There’s a u tuber called mainly flies and he makes and shows how to on some awesome flies. If interested
Thanks Mr. Rob! Hahah yes! That’s exactly how it felt during this trip. Just couldn’t keep the hook pegged. Oh well, always next time. And thanks for the recommendation! I’ll definitely check them out!
@@CatchingLimits still have time for fishing or the big event not yet ?
Beautiful water, nice spots and a few beauties in the net too, tight lines, thanks, thumbs up and greetings from NZ,, Tony.
Thanks Mr. Tony! Definitely a fun trip! Someday I’ll get overseas and fish for the beauties that run wild in y’all’s rivers and streams!
@@CatchingLimits You will enjoy your trip and hospitality of Kiwis in NZ for sure.Tight lines and happy fishing.
Cool video bro. Tighten up that drag homes lol.
Thanks bud! Definitely noted on the drag tho. I’ve since changed to a different spinning reel that has a better system. Thanks for watching!
looks like you had alot of fun, have you caught any tiger trout ? i got some tiger trout in crooked creek a couple weeks ago
Yes sir it was a blast! I have caught a couple tigers this year. Not many, only 2-3. Didn’t get to fish much when they started stocking them this spring. But I did catch a gorgeous tiger in late April! I need to make it to crooked soon
They've always put nice brookies in north creek congrats
Yes they do! Always try to hit it the morning after when I get the chance
My guess would be that brown got wounded on stocking or a blue heron jabbed him that is exactly where they grab the fish they grab have a good one
I would have to agree. I’m thinking a heron stabbed him but was successful. Thanks for watching!
Dude whats that hookset lmao, fly fishing or spinning pick one
With these lite weight lures, holding the line simply allows me to better control the jig’s movements. If I was to simply let the 7’ rod move the jig, I wouldn’t be able to make the finesse movements that seems to get more strikes.
Don’t keep those trout in ya net out of the water for that long if you letting them go not healthy for them. “Delicate fish”
Try actuall fly fishing
Wooow you suck at handling trout
I try to only keep them out for 15-20 seconds if I plan to release. They all seem to swim back very strong and show no signs of harm. But I’m always working to make my releases quicker to put less strain on the fish!
@@stefans8972 absolutely! In fact, the video that I will be posting Saturday is a fly fishing adventure! I recently received a really nice fly fishing setup so will be hanging up the spinning rod for a while and perfecting the art! Make sure to check it out if you’d like!
Thanks for sharing buddy. I hope to go fishing one day, next year?
Thanks for watching! Topsail is a beautiful beach with a plethora of fish! Headed to Duck this upcoming month and hope to do some more surf fishing!
these tigers are amazing! cg Carter
Thanks buddy! They are a lot of fun to catch for sure! Thanks for watching!
Where the holes at 😂 lol haha
😂😂😂
Great video Bud , Some beautiful fish for sure 👍👍
Thanks buddy! Probably some of the prettiest stockers I’ve seen in a long time!
great video, all the fish you caught looked pretty good size, i caught my first tiger trout last thursday, they stocked them in crooked creek
Thanks man! These fish were definitely larger than the average stocker it seemed! Pleasant surprise! I saw that! That’s unreal! Hopefully I can get down there sometime soon!
What Creek is that would like to go there it looks beautiful there
This is Jennings creek. Definitely a beautiful place! Thanks for watching!
Awesome job, buddy! I have never caught a tiger trout, we didn't have them in VA when I was younger😂, and thanks for turning me on to Big Fish lures!!!! Keep up the good work!
Thanks buddy! Keep trying on the tigers! They are definitely stocking more creeks with them lately. And you’re welcome! Those lures are incredible!! Thanks for watching!
Stop spot burning! 😡
No spot burning here. Just the location of a public stream that gets stocked so fishermen can enjoy the fish. You would have to walk a long distance to find the holes in this video. Thanks for watching!
Those sneaky holes on any creek are my favorites simply because the average angler doesn't know to even cast a line in them. Tight lines buddy 👍👍
Yes sir, absolutely! Most anglers won’t walk far enough from the stocking area to find these waters too! Thanks bud, you as well!
Great trip man , Looks like a pretty place to fish
Yes sir it was! And the creek is gorgeous. Definitely worth making a trip!
Nice video dude !
Thanks man!
Haven't been spin fishing since the 1990's. Live in Vermont. What type of bait/lures do you recommend? TY
You should definitely get back into it! It definitely depends on the type of fish you’re targeting. For trout, I’d highly recommend NRV baits. The creek bugz are an all around incredible lure. If you want more of a challenge, Bigg fish lures hand tied jigs are awesome. They require a little more finesse and finding the right color pattern. But once you find that color pattern, it’s game on! Good luck and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
You're giving away all my secret spots man. 😆 Me and Barry wore them out around the same timeframe fishing the same in between holes. Fortunately most people there are too lazy to do much walking. But you know you can catch fish in that creek from one end to the other after some good rainfall.
Hahaha sorry dude😂 I won’t tell anyone where they are tho. They’ll have to walk on their own to find em! Absolutely! One of my favorite times to trout fish up there for sure! Hopefully get down there the end of next week after all this rain comes through!
Awesome video, I did the same thing 2 weeks ago and got off the beaten path and in the exact same way is how I caught my limit! Well played, well played my friend!!!!
Thanks Mr. Kipps! It’s always great to get away from the pressures holes and see water that most people overlook! I also seem to find nicer/prettier water than right there next to the road. Thanks for watching!
You are becoming a Legend my friend!
Thanks buddy!
Bro just get a fly rod lmao
I actually received one the day after this video was made! Haven’t gotten a chance to break it out but super excited to use it!
Looked like fun to me! Wonder what broke you off though🤔
It was a good time! Man I wish I knew. It definitely wasn’t running like a catfish. My guess is a big bass. Probably 4-5lbs. Always seem to catch one or two while minnow fishing on this lake
Loved seeing the addition of your Brother & your boat! Also enjoyed all the written word explanations & comments along the way too! Sorry about the wind. Another great instructional video!
You gotta get Livescope. It changes the game. Watching them come up for it then the bobber going down can't be beat.
You are absolutely right! Couldn’t agree more!!! A livescope is in the works for sure. Not sure when it’ll happen but hopefully soon!
Good crappie fishing video! Love to see those bobbers go down!
Thanks Mr. Mullins! I’m addicted to it myself. Just love it! Hopefully get more of it this weekend!
Great video! Now get out of my hole. 🤣❤
😂😂😂😂😂
cant tell who’s the younger brother 🤣🤣🫣. Lookin good my man
Thanks dude! He’s still got me but it won’t be long!
I have a Jon boat and I hope I can find a place like this where you guys go. Great job everyone. Great family memories. Don’t know where to start.
Awesome! Finding structure is always a good first start. In a lake like SML, finding deep structure is almost always productive. The fish will move up into the shallow structure occasionally but finding the deep 15’ of water seems to be the most productive
“HE is loaded with eggs!’😂😂😂
😂😂😂 come on now, didn’t you know male crappie hold the eggs??? Hahahah whoops😂 that’s when you know I was excited! Thanks for watching!
I loved that video! Keep 'em coming!
Thanks man I appreciate it!
Thanks for letting us see the Cork go down. Enjoy 😂😂😂
Absolutely! Watching the cork go down is the best part! Thanks for watching
