    I enjoy crappie fishing more. It can be very frustrating but they are so much fun to catch and eat. It’s difficult because I don’t always have access to a boat to chase the crappie tho. Whereas I can drive anywhere to fish for trout

    hello Catching Limits, does Va have fly fishing streams ? when does trout season start and how much is a out of state lic. cost, sorry I'am asking ??, Iam from NJ, and I also fly fish TN, NC , thank you good fishing Dale

  • @CatchingLimits
    @CatchingLimitsАй бұрын

    Hi Dale, thanks for reaching out! Va doesn’t have any streams that are specifically designated for fly rod only but we have over 200 stocked streams and numerous native/wild streams where fly fishing can be done! The stocked season runs from October 1st through May 31st but they don’t really start stocking well until April 1st. I believe a non resident trout license is the same as a resident license so $23. It will cost a bit for the freshwater license too tho. $47 for a year or $21 for a 10 day license. Good luck if you make it down here!

    With these lite weight lures, holding the line simply allows me to better control the jig’s movements. If I was to simply let the 7’ rod move the jig, I wouldn’t be able to make the finesse movements that seems to get more strikes.

    Haven't been spin fishing since the 1990's. Live in Vermont. What type of bait/lures do you recommend? TY

  • @CatchingLimits
    @CatchingLimits2 ай бұрын

    You should definitely get back into it! It definitely depends on the type of fish you’re targeting. For trout, I’d highly recommend NRV baits. The creek bugz are an all around incredible lure. If you want more of a challenge, Bigg fish lures hand tied jigs are awesome. They require a little more finesse and finding the right color pattern. But once you find that color pattern, it’s game on! Good luck and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

    You're giving away all my secret spots man. 😆 Me and Barry wore them out around the same timeframe fishing the same in between holes. Fortunately most people there are too lazy to do much walking. But you know you can catch fish in that creek from one end to the other after some good rainfall.
