Does that adhesive disk peel on both sides like double stick tape (sticky on both sides)? I bought a kit with all the parts and it came with those adhesive discs, but as far as I can see only one side peels off. Plus I can't figure out the purpose of the disc if glue is required anyway. Also what does UV glue do? I've been doing sublimation for awhile, but just got into earrings. So far I have only done the larger ones of various shapes (made from MDF), this is my first attempt at making the ones with the cabochon and tray, and I'm a little confused. Any suggestion for a more in depth source on making these? Any good facebook groups? Do the images used to create decals on clear paper need to be transparent PNG images?? In the design stage i mean. Thanks
@HayesPaperCo Жыл бұрын
Hi there, good question. It is best to save the image as a PNG to be on the safe side. If your printer doesn't print white ink (most do not) then any white space on your design will automatically show as clear once the design is printed. If you have a cream or light colored background then it will print as shown on your artwork. Hope this helps.

@HayesPaperCo Жыл бұрын
Hi there, Sorry to hear you are having trouble getting the decals to work. The best way for us to trouble shoot the issue is for you to email us at [email protected] with an image of the issue. Some things that immediately come to mind is 1. To check that your paper type inkjet or laser match the printer used? So inkjet waterslide can only be used with an inkjet printer. 2. Often the acrylic sealant can be the issue. We recommend Rust-Oleum® 2 x Clear. If the sealant is not waterproof it will run. 3. Make sure you coat the sealant evenly across the whole sheet and spray three times, you can dry with a hair drier for 5 minutes to set it if you are in a cooler climate. Hope this helps.

@HayesPaperCo Жыл бұрын
Hi Wanda, The white waterslide decal will create a white, opaque backing for the decal so it will make the print easier to read or see but it may block the cork lighting. If you use a clear decal the decal will be transparent and when backlit you will see the design through the light. The clear decal may be difficult to see if there is no light on behind it, so it just depends on the look you're going for. Hope this helps.

Sadly these didn’t work for my application on glass blocks. I tried both the transparent and white inkjet decal paper, spraying the decals 3 times with Krylon clear acrylic spray. My decals were roughly 5 x 6”. The colors on the transparent decals weren’t vibrant enough, even after adding another layer per Hayes’ customer support recommendation. Then I tried the white inkjet paper and although it was sprayed with clear acrylic spray, the colors separated as the decal was “stretched” onto the glass block, making the image look grainy. I’ve resorted to printable vinyl to get the result I was hoping to get with the waterslide decals.

Try printing the paper and see if the "white stripes" are visible in the design. If they are affecting your decal, please email us at [email protected] and we'll help get you a replacement or troubleshoot the issue. :)
