    I'm wondering if i should sell my Viltrox 23mm f1.4 to buy a Tamron 17-70 for my XT4. I've been using prime lens since 2021, but very often i see that i need a zoom option to stop buying multiple lenses to the same camera and keep changing them many times in the job... But idk if the f2.8 aperture will make me upset to do night shoots

  • @perhat22photo
    @perhat22photoАй бұрын

    The immage quality on the tamron is much better than the viltrox 23. Virtually no cromatic aberation and better af. In my opinion if you cant have a ton of lenses the tamron is the bestthing you can get

    The one thing I don't understand is what is going on with the hot shoes? You put on a mic or a flash a few times on and the paint starts peeling off. As for the IBIS, the more I use it, the less I like it. I've got a Ronin SC with a focus wheel and it works great. BTW where are you from? Croatia? Rijeka? The car shot streets look familiar, like I've been driving through.

  • @perhat22photo
    @perhat22photoАй бұрын

    Yeah the hot shoe does peel quickly, but I don't really mind it, as long as it works. The IBIS is hit and miss, sometimes its great other times it jerks when it should not, but helps a lot with longer focal lenghts for video. Yeah I am originally from Croatia, don't remember which photos I put in the video anymore, but if they were shot in Croatia probably Pula or Zagreb

    Great video as always Your first video on getting clients inspired me to actually go out and look for work and I actually got an offer to do an hybrid shoot for a small business BUT Possible dumb gear question here: I got a Canon 70D, not great for video, max 30fps at 1080p and none of my lenses have stabilization Should I just shoot the video with an iPhone 12 Pro or try it out with the camera instead?

    Glad to hear you landed a client, congrats! I used to shoot with the 70d some years back, I would probably stick with the iphone for video, much easier to get stable usable clips and you can shoot in 4k 60. just do slow controlled movements, and maybe overshoot a bit just so you have more options in post. you got this!

    Hi, I wanted to ask you a few questions, I have seen that in a day's shooting you do a lot of content that if managed well can cover several months, how often do you go to the client? Wouldn't it be better for you to do less content and go to the customer more often? Thank you very much, your videos are very interesting

  • @perhat22photo
    @perhat22photoАй бұрын

    depends, if the clients are close to me I might do more smaller shoots, but some clients like this one are quite a drive for me (about an hour drive each way, I also have others where it's about a 2 hour drive), so going once every month and a half to maybe two is easier for me. Also creating more content in a single shoot is easier for the clients as they don't have to acomodate me shooting, and the bit of extra time it takes for the plates to reach the guests. But yeah in the past I had clients that much closer to home, where I would just charge a flat fee every month and stop by more often for smaller shoots. But yeah I guess if I was trying to really maximise profit I would deliver way less and make them "need" me more. You can also have the approach of charging after the shoot, and doing it on the amount of content you end up creating, instead of outlining it all beforehand, especially because these types of shoots (if they are not making food specifically for you to shoot) can be unpredictable, and you can't be exactly sure how much you will deliver. damn, sorry for the long reply 😅

    Which shots do you mean? basically everything was shot with IBIS+OIS on, some shots were taken on the X-T3 with the gymbal. The flash is an extremely cheap MEIKE with some cheap Godox 2.4ghz triggers

    @@perhat22photo i was wondering particularly for the handheld shots. • @perhat22photo
    @perhat22photoАй бұрын

    @@timbuttpoo2129 thanks for the kind words 🙏 I don't see much warping on the x-h2s from my use, but the ibis can be a bit sticky sometimes. in 90% of cases stabilisation in final cut pro fixes it and makes it really smooth (60fps, and higher shutterspeed for less motion blur helps stabilisation work better from my experience). Even with the ibis not being perfect its better than not having it as it cleans up micro jitters a lot. also for these movements swaying on the hips and moving your entire body with arms locked makes it much smoother. on this shoot I also had a side handle on my camera cage to help with stabilisation.

  • @perhat22photo
    @perhat22photoАй бұрын

    Thank you. I was already in the fuji ecosystem with the X-T3, but also I wanted to have 60fps 4k without a crop, so I could have the exact same framing for photo and video, and most sony cameras do not offer that (the a7siii does but its too low megapixels for photos for me, and the other ones that do are too expensive for me). I'm waiting for a decent FF camera that will give me 4k60 with no crop, dual card recording for photo and video, that wont break the bank, as I would love to move to full frame and thet the tamron 35-150

Keine Chance. I'm going to do my first hybrid portrait session w/ the Tamron 17-70 tomorrow which I'm really looking forward to. Also, it looks as though Classic Chrome is becoming more and more popular for video as it is photo. I used "Eterna" in the beginning (and still do sometimes), but "John Stambaugh" convinced me to give CC a try and i love it! My latest film i released yesterday was shot with it and i think I'll probably use it more than Eterna from now on, which i didn't expect to say.
