    My Father once told me that during the Bataan Death March, American soldiers used urine to clean out wounds. That they would use the stream between the start and end. Once on the TV Show, "Survivor" they showed a contestant seeking urine for another contestant to neutralize the venon he received from a stingray? I heard that it helped cure poison Ivy, and some skin fungus that medication could not cure. Years ago we met a man who had been a prisoner in the concentration camp of Auschwitz for not violating his Christian neutrality. He became very sick, but finding some burnt wood, and eating the charcoal, he felt his life was saved. Do you have any suggestions on these subjects?

  • @ThePrepperAlmanac
    @ThePrepperAlmanac20 сағат бұрын

    This what I found regarding urine. I'm sure during the Bataan Death March they were very desperate though. Urine as a Wound Cleaner: A Dangerous Myth Urine should never be used to clean wounds. Despite being a common misconception, urine is not sterile and can actually introduce bacteria into a wound, leading to infection. Why Urine Isn't a Good Disinfectant: Bacteria Presence: Urine contains bacteria, even in healthy individuals. Introducing this bacteria into an open wound can lead to infection. Risk of Infection: An infected wound can become serious, potentially leading to sepsis, a life-threatening condition. Delayed Healing: Using urine on a wound can hinder the healing process and increase the risk of scarring. Proper Wound Care in a Survival Situation: Clean Water: If available, clean water is the best option for cleaning a wound. Sterile Dressings: If you have them, use sterile dressings to cover the wound and prevent infection. Improvised Dressings: In desperate situations, clean cloth can be used as a last resort. However, ensure it's as clean as possible. Monitor for Infection: Watch for signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, warmth, pus, or fever. Remember: Proper wound care is crucial for preventing infection and promoting healing. If you're in a survival situation and unsure about wound care, seek medical attention as soon as possible.

    I would be careful with charcoal too. This is the information I found. Charcoal Consumption: A Dangerous Prepper Myth No, you should not eat charcoal in a desperate prepper situation when you are sick. Here's why: Not a Nutrient Source: Charcoal provides no nutritional value and will not help you recover from illness. Digestive Issues: Consuming charcoal can cause severe digestive upset, including constipation, bloating, and nausea. Risk of Aspiration: Charcoal can be a choking hazard, especially in a weakened state. Ineffective Treatment: Charcoal is not a treatment for most illnesses and will not address the underlying cause. If you're ill in a survival situation: Focus on Hydration: Staying hydrated is crucial for recovery. Rest: Allow your body to focus its energy on fighting the illness. Proper Hygiene: Prevent the spread of illness by practicing good hygiene. Seek Medical Attention: If possible, reach out for professional medical advice. Activated Charcoal vs. Regular Charcoal: It's important to distinguish between activated charcoal, which is used in medical settings to absorb toxins, and regular charcoal, which is used for grilling. Regular charcoal is not suitable for human consumption. Remember: Always prioritize safety and seek professional medical advice when possible.

    Question.....would storing in salt make the meat too salty? I don't know much about this method.

  • @ThePrepperAlmanac
    @ThePrepperAlmanac2 күн бұрын

    Thanks for stopping by as always. I did come across the following information. Thanks for checking out a bunch of my videos. It's appreciated. Yes, salt does run the risk of making preserved meat too salty. Salt draws out moisture from the meat, which is what inhibits bacterial growth and keeps it from spoiling. But that same process concentrates the flavors within the meat, including saltiness. Here are a few ways to avoid over-salting during meat preservation: Use a recipe: Recipes for curing or salting meat will specify the amount of salt needed based on the weight of the meat and the desired preservation time. Following a trusted recipe is a great way to ensure proper proportions. Brining vs. Dry Salting: Brining involves submerging the meat in a saltwater solution. This allows for more even distribution of salt throughout the meat, reducing the risk of hot spots that become overly salty. Soaking: After the curing period, some preservation methods involve soaking the meat in water to remove some of the surface salt. This can help balance the flavors without compromising the preservation benefits. Start Low and Go Slow: If you're unsure about the perfect amount of salt, begin with a slightly lower amount than recommended and taste the meat after the curing period. You can always add a little more salt if needed, but it's difficult to remove excess salt once it's absorbed. Remember, with practice and following proper techniques, you can achieve perfectly preserved and flavorful cured meats.

    First off there are things you never barter away…ammo, firearms, medical supplies, food, and fuel. This first item shown is an electric air pump…only good is you have a source of electricity. A hand pump or foot pump would be more reasonable…aluminum foil is a waist…you can only reuse it a couple of times…and how much would you need to make a shelter…what would be good if having traps and 550 cord, duct tape, booze and pot, matches and candles, cheap rain ponchos, shoe laces, small sewing kits, personal hygiene items like soap, hair brushes, deodorant, tooth paste and tooth brushes. Clothing like, gloves, socks, tee shirts, windbreaker type jackets stocking caps. Plastic utensils, water purification tables or life straws.

    Yes, definitely toilet paper. We remember how people hoarded that stuff a few years back. I have another companion video (a 3rd one) coming out in the next couple of days and I have toilet paper currently in the script. Now I need to put the video together. Here is the current companion video to this one (this is video #2"). It's titled "Priceless Barter Goods for a Post-Collapse World" kzread.info/dash/bejne/nZqAuKOHdcTIYdY.html

    True...Use soap and water in order to keep your hygiene up. But it's good to have antiseptics as a back-up. Thanks again for stopping by. It's appreciated!

    How many people have come to you with a nasty burn?😅

    Thousands. Just kidding. I was more thinking that if hospitals are overwhelmed and supplies are limited, it might be a good barter item since aloe vera can be used for burns, cuts, scrapes etc. Cheers!

    NEVER buy extra things to barter with. Buy what you need for you and if you cover that and have extra money then buy better gear and more ammo. Forget getting rich during a collapse by playing the merchant - you will die, or something worse than death will happen. If you manage to survive then there will be plenty of spoils to go around.

    I didn't here dewormer

  • @ThePrepperAlmanac
    @ThePrepperAlmanac4 күн бұрын

    You can stockpile it, but I did come across this info re: dewormer. In a prepper survival situation, the benefits of stockpiling dewormer are likely minimal for a couple of reasons. Most dewormers target specific types of worms. Without diagnosis, you won't know what kind of dewormer you need, and using the wrong one can be ineffective or even harmful. Even if you use the right dewormer, it only treats an existing infection. It won't prevent future infections. Proper sanitation and hygiene are the best ways to prevent parasitic infections. In a survival situation, focusing on these will be more effective than relying on dewormer. There are some situations where dewormer might be useful, but they're less likely in a true survival situation. If you know you or your family are susceptible to certain parasites, having a specific dewormer on hand might be a good idea. However, consultation with a medical professional is still advisable. If you're prepping for a situation where you'll be reliant on livestock for food, then having dewormer for your animals might be more important.

    That is awesome. I wish more people did the proper planning like you. I'm hoping in a small way, this channel encourages people that haven't been planning to plan/prep. My feeling is that more people that prep, then there are less people that will try to take your stuff. Even though I have taken measures to hide my supplies in multiple areas.

    You forgot ass wipe. Remember during the pandemic people were taking it off the shelves by the cases and none were left. A luxury item yes in a shtf cenereo but a great item to have none the less.

    Very true. It might be an incredible barter item too! And that was crazy what people were doing back then. It shows that people will panic if they aren't prepared.
