Dear Mr. Vignali, I hate to say it, but you accidentally used a copy someone made of Frazetta's hobbit-illustration, for your analysis. Frazetta's own version showcases more subtle brushwork. I do love your analyses though! 😃Kind regards!
@Vignalistudio Жыл бұрын
Abraham, I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I appreciate you reaching out to me with your concern. I assure you it is Frazetta's work, but I cleaned up the image in photoshop and perhaps lost some of the finer brushwork... and combined with the KZread video resolution, perhaps some of the subtle detail you see in a book or print is missing. Regardless, it is Frazetta's work, and my analysis is still applicable. However, I appreciate that you took the time to give me some feedback. I'll keep that in mind; that the video resolution may lose some of these finer details. It's good to consideration when I make future videos; I'll be sure to zoom in on those areas for the audience, so thank you.

49:07 “your sketchbook should never be painful to work in” I came for art advice from two great artists. I didn’t expect life advice and especially not that you both share the same faith; speaking on God’s hand in all of this. I’m absolutely blessed. Off to do Thomas’s schoolism class. Thank you marcelo x thomas

Hey Marcelo! Will your Fractal Method Books ever be back in print? I would love to find out more about it but unfortunately the books are out of print and used ones are impossible to get hold of in Europe. Maybe you could create a video and sell it through gumroad explaining the approach. I'd be super interested!

Great episode and so so on the point. I took Paul Wee's figure drawing class at Associates of Arts over 20 yrs ago and the one thing that he really imparted on me that has never left me, Was that every day before class he would bring in some art that was excited him and share it at the time. It would go from Mike Mignola (pre-Film) to something really cartoony to Michelangelo. He was always just enthused about art and I remember that was a wake up call to keep that excitement and enjoy art. So big thanks to Paul for that and to you Marcelo for having this channel and reaching out to us and sharing all this great info

Thank you for your kind comment. That is exactly what I'm trying to do. As artists, sometimes we work in solitude and don't have some of these important conversations with our peers. We're so focused on developing our talent -- learning a new skill -- we overlook some of these other aspects that are significant to our development as people, and as artists.

Great conversation. And I think your theory is spot on! As a child I knew what I wanted to be, but I was also set on a different path in my adolescence. Years later, when I rediscovered the child in me, I knew what I wanted to become and started doing it again. Never thought about it that way until I heard you guys talk about this. Thank you for this.
