Nice video, do you know what shock absorbers can I use for a GXP solstice? The 2.0L are compatible with the gxp version?
The 2.0L is the GXP/Cobalt SSTC/Redline. Any shocks from the Kappa platform work. If you have deep pockets you can do B coils.
Nice tip about leaving the bolts loose.
Glad it was helpful!
SINGS your parts arent clean until theyre harbor freight clean only old Duckers will get it
Now Dawn Platinum does wonder
@@GearHeadzGarageUSA case you were wondering that little jingle i typed was a parody of the old jingle in the old zest soap commercials
@@GeorgiaRidgerunner you had me guessing I was like woah is there something I don't know? I was trying to Google it

I just bought the brother to your gap turbo with 143k. He r placed the turbo and put on an aftermarket inter cooler. Car smokes pretty bad and has a couple low cylinders on 2&3. I was hoping it filled the exhaust up with oil. Any words of wisdom? I’m.buying an 08 next week with 87k and was hit slightly in the front. He got run off the road. Wish me luck! Great video by the way sometimes it will sit there idling and no smoke
I'm thinking head gasket on the smokey one but I'm rebuilding the LNF which is the motor that comes in those GXPs Pontiac etc.....may help to see whats Inside considering it's about the same exact thing . Most of the time it's either a water pump head gasket combo for everything Check out the video .. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z35no5JpgLu5k8Y.html
I am trying to do my 2021 Chevy Blaszer .
What mileage should i change it at?
Every time you do your oil
I pull a main and rod cap on every unknown used engine before running it. Especially if I see it as a crackhead engine like you say here. Single piston calipers have to be able to slide easily on their mounting bolt shafts because of the non self centering action. Make sure the caliper can slide back and forth without hanging up and the shaft it slides on is lubricated and sealed from contamination like OEM caliper mounts. Solid mounted single piston calipers will not work.
Well it was a hard one, I ran a fiber scope through it and all looked good but what really got me was the price.....almost to good to pass up even as a block. Still investigating on the calipers but may have found the issue
axle housing is bent, imo. the caliper mounting bracket is not in alignment with the rotor. once back together, apply the brakes with the caliper mounting bracket loose to see the misalignment. might fix it with shims.
Looking at some of the older videos from the install I think I may have it narrowed down. bad machining
@@GearHeadzGarageUSA i like the build. cool car.
Looks like a counterfeit axle seal on the left side to me. I see you are replacing the bearings on the right side. Those bolt together disc brake kits do cause problems with rotor/caliper alignment.Getting them right can be tricky. Your Ace Hardware has big flat washers that I would use. Get either grade 8 or stainless to distribute the clamping force. I would also use nylock nuts to ensure they don't back off. That rear has tremendous vibration on such a light car and I think your nuts loosened themselves. You didn't forget to give the nuts a couple "ugga duggas" You put a lot of milage on the car, not what Speedway envisioned for their kit, so you need to vibration proof it. Like I said before you probably have the highest milage T Bucket Kit from Speedway on the road today. You have a great plan of attack for the rest of the car. You probably need to change your alternator mount. The early Corvette alternator brackets allow for a tight alternator. If you can find an old V8 Monza fan they work real well on moving air. You have time to get it all right. Thanks for the update glad to see it is a work in progress.
You are right! I do not think they ever intended this kit to go any further than someones driveway and a local car show maybe......theres a lot of miles on this thing! I am hearing alot of bad things about these rotor conversion kits and I can see why now but I think...maybe....I have found the issue. What I can tell you is it may haave something to do with fake bearings from AMAZON and some bnad machining. Im lookinga t one of the twist link alternator mounts instead of the slide type but open to any suggestions.
man id be issed if i had all those leaks and the brakes was acting the fool
Gotta keep my composure......deep down I'm like MF WTF
Not toooo bad.
Easy stuff.... except the axle🤣
Old Engines develop leaks. Just like Old People do!
Don't scare me
Very helpful
Only needs padding on those seats.
Very true!
Sorry but that is not regarded as a build here in Oz, it seen as an assembly of parts made by someone else.
Its always the ones with no build on their own channel LMFAO
I normally dont wear red slippers either
we never did get a cost breakdown of the bucket build or explanation of the process to tag and insure it
Oh it's coming, I'm waiting on some back ordered parts to go back and tackle that rear end as well as some issues that were not addressed during the build for things I did account for. Should be about another week as soon as they ship out. Working on insurance hahaha...... having some difficulty because of the registration from the state. They are trying to call it a 2024 APST KIT which is jacking up the rates everywhere.
Nice. Elbow deep already.
Projects are slowly building up have to get ahead 😂
Cant wait to see this build!
This will be a fun one
1st.
They were wearing lap belts. You need at least a 3-point belt to keep your face out of the dash. Main take-away I got from that video is put as much effort and thought into the stop as you do into the go.
Didn't even notice, I was so fixated on the guy trying to stop the car by putting it into Park 🤣
Thanks
No problem
What video did you mount the body to the chassis? I wanted to see how it's done.
I do not recall but I will find it and report back
Thank you. I'm doing the same thing and was just curious @@GearHeadzGarageUSA
So I went back to all the videos and I can't seem to find out which one it actually was essentially I used the quarter drill bit then I used expanding rubber bungs
Do you have any videos that show the sounds of the cold air intake? I am trying to decide if I want to get one or not, haven't seen a great video that shows how it sounds when driving or even just reving the engine parked. I've heard mixed things on the sounds.
Do you have a turbo?
I have a 2007 Sky Redline. I had 5 codes. P2101 was one of them. I replaced ECM Throttle Body and Accelerator Pedal to correct. I also had the high pressure fuel pump go out. I did all the work my self. Thanks for the video.
The fuel pump can be a tough little repair to do! Especially when it comes time to do the thermostat too that's a hard one Thanks for watching
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO. I am not trying to replace anything but the fan relay module... So i tried looking it up and couldn't find anybody who showed the damn actual location! As soon as you pulled the fan assembly out i saw it stuck right to the outside of that sucker. Went back to the garage and did it in 5 minutes... THANK YOU!
Glad it helped! Most of the time there is nothing wrong with the fan it's the module itself. Happy cooling!
damn is your engine blown
Well.....the dealership said it was and wanted 10k to fix it. I assembled a rag tag team of misfits to do an overhaul and so far it's not blown. Just needed some love
@@GearHeadzGarageUSA oh ok then
what was that that came out before the oil water mixed with orange anti freeze ?
Sure looks like it.
Mixture of some odd antifreeze color.....ain't no GM Dexcool. Gonna bust in it this week and we shall find out what damage we have
Internal water pump
Nope, I think someone poured coolant in the wrong hole unfortunately
"death kart"... smh. You just built a T-bucket, but this is a death kart 🤦♂️ 1300-1400lbs? It'll be the lightest goblin ever.
Gotta good ring to it
SMH sasquatch -goblin owner yourself you would think that you would scroll down to the bottom of their web page and see that its clearly advertised as 1300 - 1750 depending on configurations. Nothing wrong with trying to cut the pork
Time will tell what the final weight is lots of variables, some more cookie cutter than others.
A good start to another adventure.
When is sick week.

I considered a Goblin. Lol.
I'll take the plunge and you can laugh at my series of unfortunate builds and make your decisions 🤣🤣
Gonna be fast.
@@marc-w-dot-com I hear they are insanely fast, and considering were using a TurboCharger I'm guessing it will be scary. Even watching some of the videos with people just with the NA versions. I can only imagine how this one's going to go
ford means First On Race Day F..... On/Over Rebuilt dodge
The cool thing about that Mach 1 is we are taking a deter with our other builds and we're doing a full engine pull and redneck overhaul on the Mach 1 in the coming days.

@@GeorgiaRidgerunner but it's looking pretty good though!
It's funny bc I just pulled a brand new off the lot durmax wit a Ford td 😂💀
Noooooooooooo 🤣🤣🤣
Cool that vice grip was there! Before derek moved he lived about 30mins away from me in Minnesota. Ps. Your vids are awesome!
That's cool! I bet he wanted to escape the cold. I'm sure it's brutal up there. But even Tennessee is cold for the Florida boy. Glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching got more planned!
Really enjoyed watching your videos on the hot rod power tour. Looks like you had fun.
Thanks for watching! It was somewhat painful at times....seats suck
No painted frame? And Chevy orange plain engine? 🤦 dude you got to put some class on a classic!!
Ohhhh it's painted alright
My dealer tried to charge me 600 for changing the air and fuel filter at 16,000 miles
Lmfao.....I hope you walked out and laughed
