UPNORTHOF60

UPNORTHOF60

Welcome to my channel!!! As my name suggests I live north of the 60th parallel. My geographics offer some very extreme weather, terrain and a very challenging environment for one to adapt. Over the course of the next few months, I plan on offering some ideas and knowledge that I have learned from living in my environment. Most of my knowledge have come from trial and error, learning from the local people and other individuals like myself on KZread.

There are many channels like mine on KZread so I hope I can add something to the "KZread survivalist community" I am hopefull that people may find some useful information based on my perspective of the topics discussed.Thank you for visiting my channel.

This channel is for the sole purpose of sharing information and ideas. It is meant to be a fun channel where I can expand my network of like minded individuals.

Weird, when it is -4 breath is visible. Not so much here and switching to a light fleece jacket? I grew up and worked in the cold so I say your temps are off

Why do they make heatproof stove jacks when you can simply thread through twigs, and I'd like a little less draught around my head.

Have never understood the idiot concept of having a stove suck the heat and warm air out of the area you are trying to heat and live in. Put an outside pipe with a valve to feed the stove

My son and I camped in the mountains of Kentucky. Was getting colder than expected. Found a old abandoned tobacco barn. There we made our stand. -22f. Always have loved winter camping. Love your videos.

The shelter didnt look well insulated and I would have cleared away more snow on the floor. But, overall, it was great learning. Thanks for your work!

  • @upnorthof60

@arikan760 i’m following local forest management guidelines. These trees are parasitic to the local ecosystem and cause significant forest fire risk in the summer.

With all the gear you pack in, why not add 2 tarps (mylar lined). It reflects the heat back at you and would waterproof the tree teepee.
