Bjørn Pierri Enevoldsen

Bjørn Pierri Enevoldsen

Adobe Certified Photoshop Expert, photographer and filmmaker.
This channel is mostly about Photoshop. With my background as a visual artist educated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art, the focus is often on getting the perspective right, the right color and shape of, for instance, a shadow. Getting proportions and light correct in compositions. But also tips and tricks in filmmaking and photography - mostly nerdy stuff. I do make tutorials on sugested subject, so if you have a topic that needs to be covered, please leave a comment.
This channel is a new channel (april 2019) and my goal is to upload every month, maybe more often, but I rather make good and proper content, than keeping a tight schedule.
...and I will do my best to get better and more relaxed in front of a camera :-)

    Excellent video Bjørn! One thing to note: color casts. If a person in a white shirt is standing next to a red wall, the WB won't look correct. This is typical with brides when they stand in a garden.

    What about a 360 image? Where place the grey card?

  • @pierrienevoldsen
    @pierrienevoldsen7 ай бұрын

    You always place your grey card where your subject is. When filming you normally expose for the highlights:-)

    Hello Bjørn, Jose from Puerto Rico. I just subscribed to your channel. This was fascinating to watch and to be totally honest, I have used one of your methods. I usually go with the Curves Adjustment layer and select the lightest and darkest colors in the Auto options drop down hamburger menu. I enjoy watching the technical side of Photoshop; you know, the "why" or "because" of things and methods. Thanks.

    I have been struggling with this lately. I've been using the curves adjustment layer with a solid gray color layer and a threshold layer. I couldn't understand why I wasn't able to make it work. Thank you for the explanation. I'm subscribed!

    I found the video a little convoluted, with more “don’t do this” vs. “best practices” … but if I watch it again, I’ll probably regret having said this. Also I didn’t actually try out the suggestions at the end of the video. With that said, I’m headed over to my iMac to look for a photo with poor color balance … or create one with bad color balance. Thanks for the video, I know they’re time consuming to make, and they’re absolutely free. Best wishes.😊 UPDATE: I just got to my iMac, and used the eyedropper tool in ACR to set the initial white balance, then used "Auto" in Curves window, followed by the option "Enhance Brightness and Contrast" which resulted in a really great 20-second fix to an image with very poor color balance. I might even make an action for this, and cut the fix time down to 1-second. 🙂

    Very interesting. But .. ok you made some white and red squares in the right perspective on the mug. I fail to see how is that of any help . In the beginning you placed the logo image. Why not do the same with a layer fill with the colour of the mug , warp it around the mug and make it smart object. I dont understand the purpose of it.

  • @pierrienevoldsen
    @pierrienevoldsen Жыл бұрын

    You should not make the smart object after you warped, but before. This tutorial helps if you want to place different designs on the same mug 😃 The purpose of the checkered image, is to be sure the perspective is 100 percent correct. It’s very easy to warp to much or to little, or perspectively wrong. With this method it’s easier. But as I said in the beginning, this tutorial is not for you if you just want to place an image quickly 😃

    Do you think I need monitor calibration if I am photographing my artwork for printing?

  • @pierrienevoldsen
    @pierrienevoldsen Жыл бұрын

    I would always work on a calibrated monitor when printing. Otherwise you don’t know where colors might shift. And proper profiles for the paper/ printer, og print station. It’s to expensive to trial and error the right colors 😃

    I am so lucky and grateful to KZread for suggesting to watch your Vlog. What a brilliant, technically perfect tutorial! Each and every method was so perfect and sound. I begin with Photoshop-2 and that time guides options was not provided. I used to 'create' guides with the help of Paths! Understanding of perspective rules, knowhow of photography, behavior of texture on placed images or graphics and a great eye for observation is a must for young students.
