My grandmother lives within walking distance of Songdo Beach. I used to spend alot of my childhood there back in the 80's and 90's. So much has changed!!!

I am a korean high school teacher. School meals are free anywhere in Korea. The government treats students with high quality school meals until they reach adulthood. This is why the average height of Koreans is excellent in Asia. It is also because of school meals that children from some single parent families do not miss school. Cooking for someone is an expression of love.😊

진짜 미국에서 애들 둘 학교에 보내고 있는데요. 한국 학생들은 진짜 학교급식이 얼마나 저렴한 가격에 수준높은 음식들인지 정말 알았으면 좋겠습니다. 여기는 진짜 음식이 맛도없고 영양가도없고 정말 최악이거든요. 저도 한국에서 초중고 나오고 직장생활 하면서 급식 먹을때 감사한지 모르고 “아 반찬 너무 짜다. 국 너무 밍밍하다” 이렇게 타령도 했었는데. 진짜 한국이 최고의 급식 퀄리티를 가진 국가중 하나라는걸 외국와서 깨닫기 되네요 ㅠㅠ

There are many things broken in Korea requiring fix just like other societies but the school lunch system is one of very few that needs to be left alone. It is one of very few public services that Korea does well for its young citizens in the most efficient and transparent manner. I have absolutely no problem my tax money being used to secure our future's well-being.
