I'm watching this video for the first time and my god how I am happy to see this but most of all, how much it hurts to see the very island my father lost his life while working on the radar on Roi back in 1996 😢 May my beloved father Lawrence K keep resting peacefully with our heavenly Father. 🙏

I'm reading your comment with a heavy heart. Every time I think of the Marshall Islands and my time there, I think of your dad. I worked alongside your dad from 93 to 96 I will never forget him. He was a true Hawaiian, always smiling, always happy. He was the first person I met when I got on the island of Roi-namur. I worked with him on the antenna array Altair He took me out fishing, He showed me how to hunt coconut crab. Every time I hear Willie K I think of your dad. He was a great guy. He showed me how to cook pig in a pit hawaiian style. I spoke at your father's celebration of life ceremony on kwajalien I left the islands shortly after your father's accident I have some hi 8 Video of your dad doing the pigs and playing horses shoes. somewhere Every time I would come across them. I wouldn't want to watch the videos because of your dad And my memories of that day. I always hoped the best for his wife and his children I remember he had a son also with the name lawrence that was about twelve or thirteen at the time I hope you all have had a blessed life Your dad was a great man.

Your thoughtful words brought us comfort and solace during a difficult time, and we are profoundly moved by your kindness and empathy. Whatever I was at Kwaj 50 years ago. I was twelve, a middle school student coming from El Paso texas. I was a teacher for 17 years before I had to stop due to disability. When the teachers talked about different biomes. I always would give a lecture about what it was being their age going from Desert to Tropical Island. We lived in silver city. Pretty close to,family beach. No TV, ack. Lol I would listen at night to the shadow and other radio shows on the radio. For those in the know.. Yuk we Yuk. Please forgive the spelling.
