So there were only 230 players rated above you. Out of that 230maybe 30 made the team. To be the 30th or 50th best prospect in the NHL. Worlds best league.

There really is no comparison between the Montreal dynasty and Islanders. Canadians won 12 straight series winning 4 cups. Islanders won 19 consecutive series in their run. They are the greatest NHL dynasty ever and no team is winning 20 series in a row for 5 cups straight.

Some weird tidbits 😂 My first NHL game was in 1982 at the Winnipeg Arena vs the Vancouver Canucks. As I was looking at the score sheet from that game recently, I noticed Serge got into a fight with Tiger Williams. He was also the last 6 era player to score a goal, I believe it was a March 27th 1983, 5 days after Wayne Cashman did. Cashman was the last 6 era player to play though, cause Boston made it to the second round while Serge's Jets went out in the first. 😢

Class act when he was playing for Tri-City Americans. Had the fortune of getting to know him during his offseason workouts at the gym. He built a home here and became a part owner of the Americans. One of those players that you’re glad to see succeed!

Honestly, why hasn't current Dallas, Detroit or Minnesota called to help make up for it? Any of those teams could call the league to make a special exception for an extra roster for one game at the end of the season when any of those teams have clinched or eliminated and let him take the opening face-off and leave the game.

Thanks Gino and Chris. I’m a Dad,the same age as Chris. It was and still is the hardest part of my life dealing with my son’s addiction. It took me along time to realize, I have no control. He is now clean and sober raising his son as a single Dad. I’m sorry to say my grandsons mom died from her addiction. Keep doing what you do Chris❤️

I'm sure that Schultz has been a gentleman in his post pro-hockey days, but during the time he played for the Flyers, he was called a goon because the only reason he was able to make the team in Philly was to act goony, and he did it with great fervor.

See if you can get Barry Beck. His book is coming? I think. Missed the story on his son. THN did excerpt on the book but can't find one lick on where this is in publishing circles. His facebook shows a book jacket but can find nothing else. His is right in the shank of your hockey era for shows.

I saw countless games as a kid in the '70's, including the Soviet Army game in '76. I went with my dad at age 8. Most exciting game I ever saw. I still have the tickets in pristine condition. Growing up Cherry Hill, it was great seeing guys like Bill Barber and Clarke around town.

1771 pts in only 1348 games....absolutely incredible. Remember as a 12 year kid in NY i was excited when Rangers signed Marcel. He didn't disappoint, was excellent in the short time he spent with the Rangers (in his late 30s).

This guy scored goals on terrible teams. In another horrible move by Leaf management, he was named captain at a very young age when they had Salming there for a decade. Wrong move in so many ways. He played hard and was one of the few bright spots of those awful Leaf teams. Good to hear from him. He gets lost in the discussion of great scores from his era.
