Song of Norway was a magnificent ship. She carried many memories.

I was on that ship sailing from miami around the Carribbean around about august 1989 and had to miss a couple of islands due to a big hurricane. I was 9 years old and threw a message in a bottle off the ship while in the middle of the sea and it landed on an island and i got a reply and had a pen pal for about a year. Lots of greatemories on that ship, i was in the cinema watching arnold Schwarzenegger film twins and they had the whole crew looking for me because they thought i had gone overboard. Many other great memories on that holiday while on that ship.

My Dad worked on this Ship in the 1970's for many years, as a mechanic, so many pictures of him and this crew and passangers, and all the nice stories he told me :)

My uncle was the chief engineer, so they must have known eachother :) I was only on the ship twice though, but it was super exciting as a kid.

thank you for a wonderful walk down memory lane... Im so glad you got some pics of her before her lengthening. They were very compact ships in their original guise.. But she looked immaculately kept, right till the end... Beautiful, trend setting ship...

We sailed on the SONG OF NORWAY, it was my first seven day cruise. We did the Western Caribbean run, I could tell by the bulkhead where she had been cut in two. I just feel bad that I didn't get many interior photos of her. I noticed in the video the FLAVIA and the BAHAMAS STAR. The FLAVIA was great too.

Before you cime here to trash on Tallinnk, please keep in mind that they loose a lot of revenue each year doing the Riiga-Stockholm route. They also out a lot of care into silja.

A really nice video! I have been on this ship at least 5 times maybe more. My home is Riga so that means i visited Stockholm at least once in 2 years. If my family decided to go to Stockholm, then only by this ship. There were 2 ships - Isabella and Romantika. I preffered Romantika, because i liked the interior more. Also Isabella was cheaper in that time so thats why we went on that ship. Now there is no ship on the Riga-Stockholm route. I'm very dissapointet in that. Both ships are just floating in Tallin, Estonia. Don't know why.

@@sheeshuushaa5694 as a latvian, I agree, I really hope the riga route gets opened again. I have been on both Romantika and Isabelle, and I hope isabelle can soon rejoin service, as I'm not sure what other ship would be used by tallink.

@@ndmz903 As i remember there was also Tallink Victoria I, but not long ago i saw that ship was somewhere in UK. Baltic Princess is operating between Stockholm, Åland and Turku, and i somehow find this route useless. If it would be Stockholm - Åland - Riga and vice versa, then that would be cool. Also there is Silja Europe standing at Tallin, but that ship is very old and i don’t think it will operate ever again. Also what i find intresting is that they build a new ship (MyStar) on Tallin - Helsinki route, where the Megastar is already operating.

My dad worked at truck driving and he was going to the ship that day the ship sink and 30 minutes before the ship was going the trucks tire popped and he missed that ship

We had a Mediterranean cruise on Sudream in 2002, we had a great time, lots of things were a bit basic, but the crew and the food were amazing, very happy memories, lovely film

Isabelle is one of my most liked ships, cause the Isabelle was the first ship ive been on. the route was stockholm-riga at that moment, last time i’ve been on the Isabelle was in june 30th, 2019. Plot twist: at 3:18 i was on that ship arriving to riga at that moment, at 1st june 2019. my room was on the 6th deck,

My first ship was was the amorella and mariella 2012 and 2013 we went on isabella and amorella 2014 i went on grace and amorella and 2016 grace and amorella and 2017 grace and amorella
