    Id say that stockholms metro and their new stations (that are comming 2027-2030) are prettier, but thats just my opinion :)

    You actually got pretty lucky to be there in Feb 2020, the warmest winters in decades and not in 2024, when it was snowing like shit.

    One thing you need to remember about the U.S. is that the price does not include sales tax. All but 5 states have it, and it ranges from 5%-10%, based off of the state and even locality. For example, if I were to head to my nearest Apple Store in the states, I would pay $1,069 for a $999 iPhone.

    So it seems the Russians are just as obsessed with being modern as the West, though I'm glad to see it isn't very crowded.

    Oxford Street, London UK is going the same way, it's filling up with nasty shops selling nasty products, mostly poorly made and in some cases counterfeit, their products are mostly aimed at tourists. It's interesting the same is happening in Moscow's Arbat street as in London's Oxford Street. I feel that when things improve economically these nasty shops will reduce in numbers 🙄

    The Street will be renovated when Russia takes back its sovereignty!.. In 5-years time, I think.

  • @Vadimus1980
    @Vadimus19803 ай бұрын

    The Street should be reconstructed! It's way outdated! The renovation they made on New Arbat is an example!) The trees are absolutely necessary! Some herbs and flowers would be nice too! The street, actually, could be made warm(heated street) and green for most of the year. Just think of Zaryad'e Park or the embankment in Museon (part of Gorkiy Park).

    Arbat is a nest of liberals and globalists. It is an ugly heritage of terrible 1990-s!(( Those who destroyed the USSR and profited from its destruction live in the neighborhood. The Street reflects them somehow!)

    WHY can't America have Infrastructure this nice? Closest Big City to me is Philadelphia; Pa.; approximately 60 SE of me. The Subways down there smells like a urinal; dark; dank; and Crime infested. Russia OBVIOUSLY hasn't been " Culturally Enriched ". I say; GOOD. FOR. THEM. You don't know what you've got until it's gone.

    Oh look!! A metro system that is completely clean, trash free, no rats, no graffiti, no homeless people sleeping on the platform, it must be shocking to people from certain countries (I will let you guess which one)! BTW, I love how every station in Russia's metro systems is unique. The classic Stalinist-era stations with chandeliers are still the best ones in my opinion (they can never be overtaken), but even the new stations have creative designs. Well done, Russia!
